I was treated like I have 0 car knowledge just because I
I was treated like I have 0 car knowledge just because I brought the vehicle in for an oil change. They wanted me to spend an EXTRA $180.00 for an air filter ($70.00) and cabin filter (80.00) change. Ford air filter is 28.00 and the cabin filter is $35.00. That makes it $63.00 in parts and a whopping $117.00 in labor. I don’t think so. I went to the nearest Advance Auto, got both filters for $43.00 and was done with installation in less than 30 minutes. So I saved myself $137 in parts and labor. And then they tried to sell me a “Premium Fuel Service” that would cost close to $200. Interestingly, when I looked up the scheduled maintenance for my vehicle, there is no such service. In matter of fact there was a letter sent to Ford Dealerships around 2017 about NOT selling NON-Ford services. And when I looked up what this so-called “Premium Fuel Service” is, it is nothing more than taking some specialized chemical, spraying it into your intake, and dislodging and breaking up the carbon buildup that happen in an engine. NOTE TO FORD MECHANICS: Ford engineers admit that doing this will cause the carbon buildup to go into turbos (if your vehicle has one- mine does) and cause damage to the engine. I am not ready to take my most expensive vehicle in for an engine replacement because all a mechanic can see is dollar signs. Also last but definitely not least, if I wanted an alignment done I would ask for an alignment. Your pretty white lights and laser pointer devices are a great gimmick. Cloninger’s laser light show is just what it is. I might not be a grease xxxxxx, but I’m not an idiot. I know how to tell if my vehicle is out of alignment. The tires themselves would tell me. And guess what, my tire wear is very normal. So no, I’m not going to be sold on junk services. And that oil change should not have taken almost an hour and a half. For that length of time and junk services Cloninger was trying to sell, they should have given me a complete complimentary car cleaning- inside and out. Glad I don’t do a whole lot of service with them.

My world has been turned upside down in the last few
My world has been turned upside down in the last few months. My granddaughter getting married and my other half suddenly dying.After 25 years together my whole existence had taken a hit. I couldn’t get my Ford Edge in for the recall so they offered to come to the house and fix the problem! I could not be more grateful to any company for that level of compassion & empathy. This is the reason I drive 45 minutes to Hickory to do my car business. Nothing but the best!
