Not great for low end used cars
I worked with Leslie and he was great! Very pleasant and extremely patient, ready to let me really spend the time I needed to check out the car. It's his service alone that makes me give this dealership 2 stars rather than 1. I imagine that, given his attitude, I might have been significantly more satisfied with this dealership if I were purchasing a higher end car that could be expected to have a more standardized price. Maybe. Because pricing is where I had a problem with this dealership. I've been buying old cars for myself and my family for 30 years and have a pretty simple approach - I base my price expectations on Edmunds Used Cars prices, rather than on Kelly Blue Book prices. Edmunds suggests a somewhat lower range of prices but one which has consistently proved to be realistic and accepted as such by dealerships that I've dealt with over the years. In this case I was looking to buy another old car - 7 years old. The car was being advertised as "Discounted" at a price that was very slightly higher than the mid-to-upper end Kelly Blue Book price, which was $1,500 higher than Kelly's own low-end price and $1,500-$2,500 higher than Edmunds' prices for this car in "Clean" or "Average" condition. In my estimation this car was somewhere between "average" and "clean", at best. The interior was reasonably clean, but not immaculate, with some minor stains and some kind of glue or something that seemed to be stuck on the dashboard. More significantly, while the car drove well in most respects, it had a strong shimmy at highway speeds of 60 or more. This was definitely not a "clean" car but, recognizing that Edmunds' price for an "average" car was significantly lower than the dealership's original price, I decided to split the difference and make my offer right in between "clean" and "average". Unfortunately, when the manager came out to talk to me about my offer he explained that he'd already put extensive work into the car to bring it up to the condition it was in (suggesting to me that it had been in really bad shape and might actually be even less reliable than I'd originally anticipated) and couldn't come close to the price that I was offering. In addition, the dealership's policy is to put any used vehicles that don't sell in two months up for auction, which seems to eliminate any motivation for them to negotiate the price down to one that would be realistic for a car in this condition. So my advice is this: Expect excellent customer service and a higher than value price.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I tried reaching out to you privately to explain but I understand if you do not wish to discuss any further. It seems that you were very happy with the customer service provided but disappointed that we could not agree on a price you thought was fair. I apologize that we were not able to come to an agreement. Please understand that we use a sophisticated software program that searches the internet for all car listing sites and reports back to us what the average selling price is and then we also take into consideration the mileage and history of the vehicle (ex. carfax) so we can price lower than the average market price. Also know that we invest more than the average dealer on reconditioning costs. That doesn't mean that the vehicle is in bad shape but that we have high standards for re-conditioning not only necessary mechanical repairs but also wear and tear items (ex: tires, brakes) and cosmetic damages where as many dealers just sell their vehicles completely "as-is" with little or no repairs in order to maximize their profits. If you are ever in the market again please call me directly and I would love to explain the current market conditions and what re-conditioning items were addressed on any vehicle that we own. I bought my Honda CR-V EX and love it! Great experience, no pressure, I told them what I needed. I purchased a 2012 Pre-owned Certified Honda CR-V EXL with NAV last week for my daughter Love the car! With 20K miles it is like new? Sean was instrumental in my purchasing this vehicle. We went to 3 other dealers before we came to Paramus Honda. I don't think we would have purchased one there if it wasn't for him. He definitely wants to make sure you are thrilled with your purchase! I opted for the bumper to bumper warranty so I never have to worry about anything, especially he electronics!

Brand New Car I Leased Had History of Problems
WATCH OUT BEFORE YOU BUY OR LEASE A CAR FROM THIS DEALER. I leased a brand new 2015 Honda Odyssey from DCH Paramus Honda in January 2015. Within 2 weeks the car started having ignition problems. Car wouldn't start most of the time. I would go somewhere and would be stuck there trying to start my car. I call my sales person Sam Park to tell him about the problems and he tells me there's nothing he can do after the sale is complete. I went to a local Honda Service center and the mechanic tell me that this car has history of problems on record. Again, i call my salesman Sam to tell him about this and again he ignores it. The service here sucks. They sell me a car with history of problems as NEW and doesn't take care of it after the sales. I've been trying to get in touch with General Manager at DCH Honda but i haven't been able to get hold of him nor do they return my calls. My brand new 2 week old car is not starting and i can't even use it. I haven't been able to drop off my kids at school and been taking public transportation to work for few days now. I understand that new items can have problems. But the problem here is that DCH Paramus is trying to ignore the situation. They have very poor customer service. They just want your money and sell cars. They don't care if you have any problems with your car. They will also NOT tell you if the brand new car you're purchasing has history of problems. So make sure you check the car's history before you purchase or lease a BRAND NEW CAR. Now i will be submitting a formal complaint to Honda America Corporate office.
