Had a really bad experience with the service department.
Had a really bad experience with the service department. Series of events: - In mid-Nov I had scheduled a regular service alongwith a recall on our 2023 Kia Soul. I was told that the recall cant happen since there is a backlog on the parts. I was told 'Sunset Kia' will notify me when the parts will be avaiable. - Hear nothing back in one month (mid-dec) so I reach out. I am told that 'Kia'(the company) will send me a physical mail notifying me to come in when the part is avaiable. Sounds shady but fine, I wait for it. - Hear nothing in 3 months (mid-feb) so I call Kia customer service and am told there is no backlog for parts and I should schedule an appointment. - I call in 'Sunset Kia' and I get the same response (Kia will notify me). I mentioned that I just got off a call with them after which I was put on a longish hold and then told to come in for an appointment. Weird but fine. - Today I go in for the appointment. Wait one hour and am then told that the part was installed on another VIN and they have re-ordered one to be delivered in 5-7 days. I drove 1 hour each way and wait 1 more hour only to be told to come back again in a week? Wow. What Kia could have done better: - Be proactive about the recall. If you say you would reach out when its avaiable then reach out. Otherwise tell me who to reach out to. - If you call someone in for maintanenece work triple check you have the parts for the work. You sent me a mail yesterday confirming the appointment. You could very well have checked what the appointment was for before confirming it. - Once I am in does it take you 1 hour to notice that the part required for the maintainence is not avaiable? I will update the post on how this goes once the recall is completed. I have been promised the next time I come in my request will be prioritized and I will not have to wait for the 4 hours you said this time. Will update on what I see. PS: Sunset Kia before you reply saying that the oil change was done alongwith multi-point inspection, we both know that I did not come in for that (also not needed since its been only 4 months since I last got it serviced from you) and even if it were needed it could have been done next week too (assumng you honor your word to get it done in a week).

F&I manager Gabe is very unprofessional when my daughter
F&I manager Gabe is very unprofessional when my daughter in law went into their dealer to cancel her GAP & VSC. They made her wait and never assisted her. Don’t buy from this dealer if they can’t take care of customers after buying a car! Sorry your commission is getting charged back but have the common courtesy to act professional and not lie about the matter when BECU confirm a VSC was purchased.

Not impressed.
Not impressed. I've had my Kia Optima Hybrid serviced at both Kia of Renton and of Auburn. Auburn took at least 2.5hrs on average to perform a scheduled maintenance while Renton only took about 1hr. Currently, I have my car in for diagnostics as the HEV warning light appeared, disabling the car's operation. This happened on a Sunday night, so I had to have it towed to the closest dealership (Auburn). Auburn had the car for two days before they could even communicate when it would be serviced. On day 3, the car was seen by a technician. It is now day 6 and I've been told over the last 3 days that they are waiting on a response from their Tech-line for help in diagnosing the issue. My frustration stems from not being kept in the loop as to what the issue is or how long they will need to repair the vehicle. A simple statement as to what the diagnostic tool was saying would have been sufficient. You'd think that not having any completion date in mind, they would at least have the courtesy to give me updates instead of my having to call them daily. Adding to this frustration is the fact they won't give me a loaner car.

This is is best place to purchase a kia, this is my 2nd one from Auburn kia. They are so professional and helpful with everything. Usually, the finance part is stressful, but he made us comfortable and easy. The salesman Renzo was very knowledgeable and explained how to use most of the new features. I love my car a recommend this place if looking for a Kia. Della

No transparency.
No transparency. They charged me 2 grand in name of accessories, from the vehicle base price without telling me and when i called them next day when i saw my bill of sale i got no help no accessories. They just said you should check that time when you was on dealership i said like xxx you guys scammed me i trusted you and you didn’t give me any accessories but you still charged me . So not recommended

I gave a 5 star review when I bought my Sportage because I was treated well, friendly and helpful salesman and finance person. Delivery went well and the tech person is great...and then real life set in! The service person I have to deal with absolutely has made tell my family to go elsewhere. I have to make ALL follow up phone calls to which the person answering the phone tells me they will have him call me when he's available. Only once has he called me back without me having to make addition calls! I've been waiting for MONTHS for a part for my vehicle w/o communication of any kind unless I call for information. The last call I was told the part is finally on it's way and would be there in 2 days and he would call me when it arrives. That's been almost 2 weeks ago! His 2 days are way different than mine!

Tried to come in today to sell them my vehicle with 15k
Tried to come in today to sell them my vehicle with 15k miles on it, they offered $27,125k after initial appraisal through Cars.com. The car is like brand new, and I understood on site when they told me that there was a mild rim scrape on one of the rims. However, they tried to say my tires were bad and that was just flat out dishonest. They are in great tread range all around and CarMax Puyallup documented that the night before I brought it in to Sunset Kia. This car stayed parked in my garage for a really long time. Alex Ngo then proceeded to offer me $26k after trying to devalue my vehicle. The rim repair should be $200 max to repair at wholesale cost to Dealership. The vehicle sells from mid to upper 30’s and I was already giving them a Cream Puff of a car they could have made a ton of front end profit on. Unfortunately, Alex Ngo’s manager Chris decided to get shifty on the deal when I asked if they could do $26,500. He came back and then proceeded to tell me that they could only offer $25,500 now without any reason for going lower than the original $26k offered on site. So they were playing games. What they didn’t understand is that I too used to work in the Auto Industry for over 6.5 Years. I understand the in’s and outs of this industry very well, and was also Nationally Ranked in the top 15 in the US for Sales Volume while in that profession. I committed to 1 hour of driving only to be baited and switched. What they did was low on many levels. CarMax offered me more for my vehicle, so I have sold it to them. I hope this review (which I will spread on multiple platforms) will reach everyone who looks into Sunset Kia in Auburn. I wouldn’t deal with them for anything in the future.
