Went there to get wheel bearings for LEFT and RIGHT FRONT

Went there to get wheel bearings for LEFT and RIGHT FRONT wheels for my Crosstrek which I bought from them a few years before. I told the service adviser that was the work I wanted done. Naturally, after looking over the vehicle, they recommend all kinds of other work to squeeze as much money as they can from a customer's pocket. Besides some new light bulbs I needed which I approved, They recommended replacing Axle (which I was aware of already) so I approved that. They recommended new tires (which I was already aware of) so I took advantage to get it done there to save a trip and more time at the tire place. After all work is "done" and I'm expecting both wheel bearings to have been replaced, the xxxxxx service adviser presents me a bill for about $3300. (Okay about $900 is for the 4 new tires which I'm fine with). Then I ask what about the wheel bearings? He says they only replaced the one on passenger side. Why not the driver side also? Oh, he claims the part is out of stock. What a load of xx!! That's the priority work I came in for!! Tells me they have to diagnose the left side. Diagnosis is irrelevant + unnecessary if customer is requesting you to do that specific job. Then you're going to tell the customer it's incomplete they have to come back to get the rest of the work done. So I told him to adjust the bill because he was charging me for the part saying he had to order it. And I decided not to come back. Anyway TOTAL FAIL on their part. Also the nonsense of waiting for the shuttle to get a ride to my house, I gave up on that, figuring they screwed it up. Then the adviser asking where's the shuttle is he here? Then another guy saying oh he was just here, just left with somebody. So I ended up stuck there 6 hours waiting and they couldn't do the one priority work I told them to do which was BOTH wheel bearings. So on this FAILURE of theirs, I will NEVER go back for service there. Some work I can easily do myself, some work I can have techs I know do it for much less money. And the Subaru is the best car I have owned, and I was thinking of buying a new one soon. But I definitely will not go back to them to buy another vehicle...

I really wanted to write this review based on my impression of Bill Kolb Jr Subaru. This is the first time I am purchasing a Subaru and the first time I have been at this dealership. I was very impressed with the fact that they were efficient, honest and right to the point. Stephanie was a great salesperson, Marty and Natalie were great in helping us close the deal. While I don't think the trade value for my car was great and it could have been better, it was fair.

I?ve been going to Bill Kolb Jr for over a decade, prices

I?ve been going to Bill Kolb Jr for over a decade, prices are fair, great facilities, wonderful staff (especially Danielle). Even though I have Subaru dealerships that are closer to my home and don?t involve tolls I always choose BKJ. They set the benchmark.

The service department is very professional and friendly.

The service department is very professional and friendly. They go out of their way to satisfy you. The service manager is extremely nice and friendly. She makes it her responsibility to make sure that you are pleased with the service your car receives. B

Had issues with batter& alternator, ended up with a discovery of issues to include control arms. Everything needed was clearly explained to me, they were able to get everything done within 2 days

This was just a quick maintenance visit.

This was just a quick maintenance visit. The checkin was a snap and the pick up was just as quick. They provide a shuttle for short distances, Lyft came for me, and that was a great service. The service was done very efficiently and I like the Multi Point Inspection. (I've had issues with Kolb in the past, but they've undergone a complete overhaul in every area of Parts and Service to become excellent.)

I had an outstanding experience at the Bill Kolb Jr dealership. The routine service and repairs were fully explained to me and done in an exemplary manner. My personal rep, Ken, was spot on in rendering an excellent service experience. He was kind, professional and kept me well informed throughout the process. I live a good distance from this dealership but I make the trip because they?re that good.
