Terrible customer service

My father went into Basil Resale on Sheridan to purchase a new to him truck and the employees in there were very rude and immature. They gave him an offer on his truck and he left to go home and think about it. He came back about 2 days and 50 miles later with the truck in the same condition as before because they supposedly had a very good offer for him. He goes in there and hey offer him 2-3k less then the first time and were laughing about it telling him he wouldn’t make a deal anywhere else and making fun of him. He works 80 hours a week (2 full time jobs) and had to take off work and waste time going out there just for them to offer about 2-3k less on his trade. Thankfully my dad was able to make a better deal elsewhere and is very happy with his new truck purchase. None of my family will be going back to Basil in the future.

Unprofessional and disorganized

In July 2019 my then 17-year-old son went shopping for a used car. After being brushed off by many dealerships in the area due to his age, he found Basil Resale on Sheridan. A young salesman was eager to help him find a car. As they talked, they found they had a mutual acquaintance. As his parent, I was skeptical that he would even be able to get a loan while under the age of 18. His salesman and the supervisor promised it could be done. I was against co-signing a loan for him. Due to his excitement, I reluctantly agreed to look at the car. After seeing the car, I agreed that it would be more than suitable for my son’s needs, however, I was concerned with how he would finance it without a co-signor. The Basil finance person and salesman were still promising that I would not have to be involved even though he was under 18. After nearly a week of going back and forth they realized they couldn’t finance a minor. I would have to be put on the loan at a higher payment than first discussed. They created a lease where I could be taken off when he turned 18, and the purchase was complete. Or so we thought, apparently, the car that my son was purchasing was not cleared for sale as the bank had not cleared the payoff check of the previous owner. Basil Resale showed that they had it overnighted 3 weeks prior and that it is normal that it would not have been received yet. It would be my understanding that when you ask for something to be overnighted; at the very least you would have it the next business day. It had been three weeks. My son waited over a week for that mistake to clear itself. Then when they physically picked up the payoff release, they then realized that the insurance documents were not in order after all. During all of this, my husband and I also found a car that we were going to purchase. To be clear now, this young man at Basil Resale is making a 2-car sale. Even in my buying experience there were very odd, unnecessary bumps in the process. I asked to see the Orange vehicle, he brought me the silver. I left one of my belongings in the silver, yet he made no effort to return it to me. He had my car ready to roll while my son, waited. A few days after finally getting my son’s car it shut off. He had it towed back to Basil Resale. The diagnosis: they remotely turned off the car because of failure to pay the first payment. They had started the clock from the time he first went into the finance office. The first payment was still three weeks away. Next, we receive a bill for the tag that should have been included in his initial transaction. Soon after, my husband and I also get the same bill for our car. I wish this was the end of the story. Now, my son receives a text message from this very eager, friendly salesman warning him to stop stalking the mutual friend they had. The mutual friend was a prospective employer that my son was stopping by the place of business to ask for an application of employment. This young man should keep his Basil Sales job, professional and his personal matters should be kept separate. While I love my new car, my son is very happy with his. The overall satisfaction with doing business there was a huge fail. People come to expect false promises when buying a car. However, this was one after another after another. I do not think they are educated in all the steps and costs of each step in the process. They certainly are not passing that knowledge on to the buyer. I don’t think there is proper communication between dealerships or even departments within the same building. Not to even mention the unprofessional way that we were all tossed about during and after the sale. I would never recommend any of my friends or family to use the Basil Family of Dealerships.

Amazing Service ! Outstanding Customer satisfaction...

I was greeted by the General Manager from the front door to the conference table , Where I met with my salesman Ray Baller . He had an outstanding eye for what I wanted and the understanding of my needs and wants . He showed me the vehicle that best fit my needs to a tee . And didn't try to put me into a vehicle that fit the monthly sales quotas. Cant say enough about this young man , the sales manager, the fiance director and the internet manager , All have my utmost respect and appreciation for there diligence and hard work , in regards to making my experience " Excellent " ! Very Nice Experience

Never again

I was a Basil customer and have recommended them in the past. Never again. I brought a vehicle to them to see if they would buy it because they contacted me and said they were interested. Sandy McQuestion said they love it but couldn't give me a quote because their internet was down and would be in touch as soon as it comes back. That was a week ago and I have texted and called them just to be ignored.

Great, friendly service!

Such a great experience. Even the finance part was easy and painless! We had to wait a little while for the DMV, but they did what needed done to get us on our way. We loved how they didn’t pressure us and everyone was very friendly! We would highly recommend!

Excellent job

Could not be happier

Just a thank you to Tom, Cherish, Teresa and the whole gang. I have been buying cars for quite a few years here and have always been treat woth great customer service. Recently I had a major car issue and as usual the great people there made me feel like more then just a customer, they made me feel like they really care. They showed me that even though I am just your avaerage gal I still matter to them and they would do what ever it takes to help me through this. Thanks again greatly appreciated

Good expierance

Only complaint I have is that the air filter in the car I bought was filthy and not replaced. Called them about this and they apologized also said they would reimburse me for new one ?? I have not seen it yet??
