Used car manager and internet manager lack basic communicati
Called today 5 times myself to work out some details to by my wife a car. Then my wife spoke with them 3 times and the final conversation was please have car cleaned and ready, because we are short on time and in addition we had an hour and half drive, they said no problem. We filled out the online financial paperwork and guess what when we showed up they showed us the fairly priced vehicle. This is where everything went bad. 1. Car was filthy. Their excuse was they didn’t get communication from Sherri that we where coming in. Even though we made it very clear to Sherri we were and she confirmed she would let the manager know. 2. We asked Sherri to look over the vehicle and make sure it was in good shape before we made the drive. She insisted it was only to find out upon arrival the front driver side tire was very low on air, both rear doors trim was busted at clips and fallen off, and the back trunk door was rusting on a 3 year old vehicle. 3. We spoke with the manager Alex who assured us he could clean it up and fix the things quickly. He took the car in the shop while we waited hour and half. Pulled it back out and said look at it again. They did nothing but put air in the front tire that was low. Car still filthy, clips still busted because they had none in stock, and no touch up paint done like promised to cover rust spots. At this point I got my kids, from the kids room and left with my wife. 4. We get in car and Alex the manager walks to our car only and says he is sorry. We explain they haven’t done anything in the 2 hours we where there, but put air in tire. He said he could fix it. We said we are good. What he does next is what kills me. He then says “ well sorry I should of gave you a different sales person because she could of done a better job handling this.” He was referring to a sales girl who had nothing to do with Sherrie or Alex mistakes. It’s a shame that the McGrath family employees a manager that puts a Car on the lot for sale that’s filthy and has obvious broken items on it. Then has the nerve to blame his poor sales girl because he and his internet lady Sherri couldn’t do their jobs. As I was in the middle of explaining that to him he literally turned his back and walked away. So the 2016 Honda Pilot with 45,000 miles white Beige interior look it over before you buy it.

New car shopping
Joselin was very accommodating. The particular vehicle I was interested in was not readily available near the show room, but she took me to their surplus lot so I was able to drive the model I was looking for. She was personable and easy to work with. London was also helpful in trying to meet my financial requirements. However, I did not purchase from them simply because they did not have my favorite color in stock.

Professional
We went to Honda to help our daughter look for a new car. We had a very professional experience dealing with Max. He was knowledgeable about all the cars we looked at and test drove, He followed up courteously but was not pushy. Our experience was positive

STAY AWAY...EXTREMELY DECEIVING DEALERSHIP
We were looking for a New Honda Pilot Touring and wanted to close the deal right away. Another dealership told us a great price but they were about 30 miles from where we lived. So we asked McGrath St Charles to see if they can give us the same deal. We had previously purchased another vehicle thru them 3-4 years ago and I remember there were hiccups in that sale as well. Against my better judgement, I agreed to let my husband contact them and see if a deal could be worked out. They told us a price that worked for us over the phone. We went right away to close the deal. Upon getting there..they made us wait a good 30-45 min while they were doing the paperwork. We had been there couple of days earlier to test drive the Pilot and we were told that it was the exact same car we are being given. After 45 min, the sales guy comes over and says oh theres been a hiccup. The car you test drove 2 days ago was rear ended on another test drive (how convienient) and now the only other car we have in the color you want is a dealer demo car with miles on it. You're telling me that a car was rear ended in the past 2 days and NO ONE in the dealearship was aware about it to inform us over the phone?? You had to drag us to the dealership and then you realize?? We go out to look at this other car and first thing I notice is its dirty. Theres dirty shoes on the back seat, coffee stains etc. They say oh we will detail it before you drive it out (mind you we had only 1 hour till dealership closed so not sure what kind of detailing gets done in 1 hour) . I was hesitant but thought surely since they screwed up and now compensating with giving us a technically used car, that they would budge on the price to a number we would be happy with. The guy comes back and says oh we cant do anything about the price. SO you're telling me, you made the deal with me for a brand new car. Got me to come in. Then due to your own screwup, you're selling me a used car and you won't even budge on the price?? We already have the email from the other dealership and could have easily just gone there and it would have been a smooth transaction. They then tried to sell the Elite version which was a good 4K more and tried telling us that they are losing alot on selling us an Elite but we had done our research and we knew others would easily match the price they were offering. Needless to say my husband and I walked out wasting over 2 hours at this dealership. We both felt like they thought they could convince us to buy a car with 1400 miles on it for a price of a new car or convince us to buy the Elite. I usually don't write reviews but I felt so deceived by this dealership and the salesmen. I know they must use these tactics of cars being convieniently rear-ended etc and convincing people to settle on another used car. I wanted people to read this review and either avoid this dealership completely or be careful and know that this is just another tactic they use to cheat customers ...even returning customers. STAY FAR AWAY.

Arrogant, Disorganized and Sneaky - Otherwise OK
Bought a Pilot from these people. Wanted to have Roof racks installed as it had none. So the installation and parts price was put into the total cost of the vehicle at the time I purchased it. Came back to have the roof racks installed and they claim that there's no evidence of the purchase. After a heated discussion with their disorganized sales people they acknowledged their error. The McGrath experience is "anything for a buck."

Great experience, highly recommended
We had a wonderful experience working with Max, Chad, and London ;). They worked really hard to get what we wanted even though our situation was less than ideal with our trade in, they were able to get us our dream car. Buying a car is incredibly stressful but they made the process enjoyable and were very personable. I will come back for my future car needs and definitely recommend them to any one needing a car.

Excellent Experience
I worked with Max Lizotte to purchase a 2009 Honda Accord. Max was great to work with. During negotiations with Max, I pushed him hard a couple of times on various issues and he remained super professional and easy going. I would buy a car from him again in a second.

Honda CR-V
Looking for a new Civic. Maxwell did a great job in explaining the features of 19 Civic. It seemed like the back office and sales persons really worked well. Will definitely come back again. Thx

Awful
Recently purchased a 2018 used vehicle at Mcgrath in St. Charles. I would not return. They list the prices online at a lower amount, then they charge a $895 fee per car. They claimed that every car that comes in needs work, and they just spread the cost across all the cars. It would be fine to cover some of those costs, but then they should add that cost into the advertised price. Additionally, the deal I made was to come with some additional floor mats in the price we agreed on. However, they ended up sneaking a $200 accessory charge on the total (which I didn't notice at the time). We also had to wait 2 hours to get into the finance officer. The sales consultant Bryan, was generally helpful, but the sales consultants really don't have any control over anything. I was mostly disappointed to see them sneak the $200 accessory charge on there as well as the unadvertised $895 fee. Do yourself a favor and look for a better dealer, there has to be one.

Great dealership
This is a great dealership, my sales person "Edward" was very knowledgeable and helpful. The whole sales staff worked together to close the deal. I would definitely recommend this dealership.
