Disappointed

I have owned several Acuras, including an MDX, so I am no stranger to the brand. This is the worst Acura I have owned. Bought it new and problems started early on. At 20,000 miles I have had problems with brakes, steering, and now the suspension. Going to eat the depreciation and replace it with something else. Goodbye Acura!

Cheap seat materials.

Lower left corner of driver's seat showing significant wear after 10,000 miles. It is not leather like the main seat surface but cheap soft vinyl. It is thin and the backing is of poor quality. It appears to be a cheap piece of material. I am not the only 2013 Acura RDX owner to have this problem. The dealer just shrugged when this was discussed saying it was a wear item. If the material was not so darn cheap it might hold up better. This part of the seat covering takes significant wear when a driver get in and out of the vehicle due to its design. Acura's reputation will take a hit on this issue if they do not deal with it like when they were using inferior tires in recent model years.

Hybrid Luxury

So many bells and whistles for the money! Great improvement on the voice activation over previous years. Navigation is light years better than prior model. Slightly better MPGs. Luxury and comfort in every aspect!

Love this car!!!!

I absolutely love this car...just wish it had more safety features like lane change warning since it has more blind spots than I would like. Tech voice technology could be better. Love the shape and styling, also very peppy!

Great car. Few quirks.

Great car so far. I have only had 2 weeks, but have had a couple minor issues already. Hope it does not bode poorly for the future. I had a "woodlike" steering wheel added and it was put on crooked (obviously dealer issue) but they quickly fixed it at no charge. Now am having a couple warning lights come on for no reason and suspect some kind of short. Assume this will be easy to take care of. Otherwise drives well, looks great, tech features work well and are fairly easy to learn. I looked at a lot of cars and would buy again.

How to Make a Car

The RDX is a fine car that strikes a great balance of comfort, convenience and value. Its leather seats are beautifully made and it's extremely comfortable on long hauls. The cabin is quiet and cylinder deactivation works silently to boost mpg from 20 to 30 or even 40. Paddle shifting is fun and saves on brake wear in sudden slowdowns in city traffic or on mountain roads. The V6 is powerful and acceleration is excellent for passing or merging into highway traffic. All this and for a price significantly below that of its nearest competitors. Shifting can be a bit sluggish at low acceleration, and the RDX gives you comfort and a refined ride in exchange for the feeling of driving a sports car. Bluetooth and USB audio work beautifully and controls are easy to use. The well-designed cabin is a very pleasant place to spend time. I drove a Honda for many years and am delighted that the RDX has all the virtues of a Honda plus several more that are all its own.

Great car, some flaws

Bought a 2013 RDX AWD in July 2012 when it just came out. Far outshines competition in value for the money-what are costly options on many other cars are standard on the RDX. It's drives beautifully and is incredibly smooth and powerful. There are several issues, though: (1) like another reviewer, my sunroof doesn't close all the time. The dealer lubricated the assembly and it's still happening, so another trip to the dealer. 7 out of 10 times, when it hits the air deflector it slides back. Only way to close it is to hold the deflector down with my finger and get out of the way before my finger gets crushed. (2) the a/c - it cycles off too quickly. I get about 5-8 seconds of cold air and then the compressor cycles off, blowing cool, moist air. This is with temp set at "lo" and any fan speed. Dealer says it's normal, but the car does not cool down on hot days because the air isn't cold for long enough. Also think that no rear a/c vents is shameful, given that my Accord has them. (3) At 6500 miles, had to have front brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced. Had very high hopes for this car knowing Honda/Acura's reputation for quality and reliability so these issues are a disappointment.

Vibration / Engine Problem After 10 months

I bought an Acura RDX (2013) because of the Acura name, and the Honda engine and reliability. The car worked well for the first 10 months, or 11,000 miles, although I did have problems with the start button sometimes not working and it not starting. Recently the car developed strong vibrations when driving at almost any speed, from 1mph - 45mph. The vibrations are strongest when backing out, or standing on an intersection. There is a rattling noise as well. I took the car in to get it serviced and the dealer told me this is a KNOWN flaw in the design of the car and that Acura is working on it. I've called Acura, and they confirmed this is a flaw, but they don't know if/when this will be fixed. Apparently, online reports confirm that around the 6k-12k mileage, the car develops these problems and almost EVERYONE who has the car for about 10 months reports it. Right now, I'm stuck with paying for a car that rattles like an old piece of junk and is less than a year old and Acura gave me no indication if it will ever be fixed. Anyone wanna buy an RDX cheap?

Love my RDX

I love everything about this car. I had owned one previously and knew I wanted to go back to Acura. LOVE the styling the power and pretty much everything about the vehicle. I got the Basque Red and it looks beautiful ALL the time. Happy with my purchase!
