Acura RDX 2013

Very happy with my new RDX. This car is goodlooking and very powerful and handles well. I am impressed with great sound system and HDD addition. Lets hope that it is as reliable as its outstanding features.

Great Car/Bad Tech

I think there are two kind of people. those who use and rely on the technology features, and those who do not. I do use the features althogh calling them features is a stretch. As a businessman, I call a lot of other businesses. When you call a business, you will invariably need and extension or at least do some additional keying. My Acura will not allow additional dialing by voice. My older Acura did??? I have to use the phone, and add extensions by dialing, taking my eyes off of the road. This is true of a lot of features? The tech package is not safety friendly.

There are Better SUV's Out There

This is cross post. I've had my RDX for about three weeks and I agree with what most folks have said about the features and ride. But I was very surprised to find that the sunroof would not close. It kept stopping half way. I had to reach up pull down the wind relector to get it to finally close. There is just no excuse for this. I had a few accessories added which so far may not have been worth it. The roof rack has a very poor fit and finish, of course that could be to the way the dealer installed it. The cargo cover is just a bad design. It retracts like a window shade, with a hard piece that just hangs free - makes access a problem. And even though this is a small issue, there should be no issue. The color I chose was Forged Silver. I bought it the early evening and at that time it looked like silver/grey. But in the daytime it is blue. I did not want a blue car. Sometimes is a certain light it has a purple hue. I have called the dealer and Acura customer relations and they say they will fix the sun roof - which for a car just few weeks old is something that should not happend so of course the sunroof will get fixed - but no concern about the color. I found cutomer relations no help at all. At least with the dealer I understand their position. I feel I like I am driving one of early 90's GM cars that color changed with the changes in sunlight. Acura just doesn't stand behind its cars. If I want to changed to another RDX, I am the hook for the car tax as well as the depreciation. Even GM gives a 30 day return. My advice is stay away from Acura, and especially the RDX and the colorForged Silver (unless you like blue) - or at least wait until the kinks are worked out. Maybe better to consider the Audi, BMW or Volvo.

Excelent value

Bought with the Tech package even though was not going to for my daughter. Too good of a deal offered to pass up. The redesign was the best thing they could have done. Looked at a lot of comparable cars but for the value this car is great when compared to them. Have an MDX with 120,000 miles very reliable and well made cars.

Better Than Expected

Today marks the end of the first month of owning my 2013 Acura RDX. Have driven a little over 1,500 miles in that time. The original 'test drive' did not do this vehicle justice. The more time I spend behind the wheel, the more satisfied and pleased I am with the 2013 RDX. It really is better than I expected. Smooth ride; plenty of power; great handling and first rate cabin comfort and roominess. In my opinion, the 2013 RDX is an excellent value for the money spent.

Decent value but tech package needs help

I find the 2013 RDX a decent value for the price. The car is smooth, and handles reasonably. Performance is good. Interior is acceptable. This car really falls down where Acura used to excel. The tech package is outdated, and annoying. The graphics are weak. The voice commands awkward. You have to press the talk button every time to give a command... really? The phone still requires voice tags! The downloadable traffic is poorly utilized and displayed. Don't even try to key in a destination while you are driving. I could go on, but the tech package will drive me to to trading this car for an Audi. Too bad, because mechanically its not bad for the money. It's not German quality, but it's not German price either. If you don't care about a tech package, then this car is a decent package for the price.

Best of all worlds

When I heard that the the 2013 RDX would be 6 cylinders, I knew it would be the car to buy. I came out of a TL and was spoiled by the quick responsiveness and power. The RDX reacts the same way. This car is perfect for everyday driving as well as going out with my wife and 2 dogs. I am 6'4" and have plenty head and leg room. Smaller than an suv, it has an airy, roomy feel inside, fits in compact parking spaces and I don't feel guilty at the gas pump. The car comes beautifully equipped and the voice commanded features are ahead of their time. Acura also follows up after purchase to make sure you understand how to get the most benefit from those features. I think they figured out what people want and delivered.

Best SUV I've ever bought

We've owned our Acura RDX for about a month now, and we have absolutely no complaints. While this is not a candidate for off-road driving, it certainly fills the bill as a luxury crossover. Virtually everything is standard on this vehicle (As far as I know, the only option is an enhanced electronic package). The RDX delivers decent gas mileage (about 22 mpg with mostly stop and go driving), handles well and has a very comfortable ride. We love the exterior styling and the interior is equally well appointed (would like some wood accents, though).

Love my new RDX

Have had my 2013 RDX almost two months now. Am finally used to no key and the push button starter. But, have not made my way through the 700+ pages of the manuals that came with it. Love the way it drives and has a very comfortable cabin. The Navi is different than in my old Acura so have still not quite figured it out and the voice command system can be frustrating but we are working on it.
