Great value

I love the unique look of this car, it really shocks me when I read negative reviews about the way this car looks! Mine's FWD model & it handles great in the city, on the hwy & even up hill. Hugs the rd on sharp turns & wet rds. You can barely feel bumps & imperfections in the rd. Plus it's fun to drive. As of right now, I only have 2 issues with my car: 1)- I was hoping for better gas mileage, it's rated 18-20mpg in the city but i'm barely getting 15mpg in city which is where I do most of my driving. 2)- There's an issue with the XM radio on TL models without tech pkg, it'll shut off when you're driving & you have to turn the ignition off & on to get it back on. Acura's currently working on a fix. Other than that, I am very happy with my decision to trade my Audi in for my TL.

OKAY!

This fully loaded TL replaces a 2007 TL Type S. I'm not certain where to start. My TL is SH-Awd, 6-speed manual transmission, with the Tech Package and HP Tires. The Tech Package is GREAT SH-Awd is absolutely Super Handling, it sticks the curves and straightens out the road like the old Type S could never do. The 305 hp is great. The old TL, with paddle shifters, was difficult because it was quiet, I couldn't hear my shift points - had to look at the tach or wait for the revs to start bouncing off the limiter. The new TL has a tuned sound to the exhaust when the RPMs reach 4000+, much easier to make the shift points. When I slow down and drive like the grey haired old guy I am, the car is quiet and comfortable, with a good feel of the road. The ride is maybe a little harsh for somebody expecting to ride on a cloud. The sound system is awsome. All around - a wonderful automobile!! I have no doubt I could buy more luxury or more performance, the key word being BUY. The value for the dollar is with the TL. This is my second one!

This car makes my heart go pitter patter

First of all, it is GORGEOUS! I get so many complements from not only my friends (who are green with envy) but people I dont even know just coming up to me. It drives like a dream and I like to drive fast! The navigation/bluetooth/weather/traffic is nothing short of amazing. It is overwhelming at first because it does everything and it takes time to learn it all and learn how to talk to it and tell it what you want or need. It is an Acura so you know it will last forever, I have an MDX that has 144,000 miles on with no major issues.

Smooth Operator

Supreme styling and cutting edge handling. Smooth ride, don't feel much bumbs. Controls easy to operate. As soon as i got into the car, I knew that it was the one. The best car that I've owned yet. Spectacular on gas!

Fantastic Vehicle

My very limited impression of this vehicle is that it is an excellent value. My only quibbles are that the styling leans so strongly towards the generic, though it does that well enough not to be unattractive.

Better and better

I owned an all-black 2004 TL (6M), loved it, and traded it away to give my MVR a rest. Now circling back to sports sedans, my wife and I were eyeing a masculine, loaded 2010 535i, thinking it was about time to own one. We gave the new TL SH-AWD 5A a final squizz before we committed to BMW, and we never went back to the German dealership. We just couldn't walk away from the TL's vectored AWD driving experience, superior reliability, superior sound system and dizzying cabin technology. It's not a BMW 5, but it'll keep up with one on winding roads, for nearly $20k less. The car we purchased in Atlanta is the 305-hp SH-AWD version with a 5-speed automatic and the technology package. We chose the bronzy gray 'grigio' color with a taupe and black interior, and we added 19-inch Acura upgrade wheels that happened to be a perfect color match for the car color. We also added Acura's ground effects pieces and a black chrome beak and tail. The car is a hot-looking ride. We went for the 5A inspite of the fact that it underperforms the optional 6M introduced for the 2010 model year. Rationale: with less testosterone on the floorboard, the driving record will look better for longer. Fact is, though, the 5A in sport mode is plenty fun and plenty fast. Combine the AWD with the hairpins in North Georgia's mountains, and you have a recipe for exhilaration that would satisfy any sports car enthusiast. But let's go back to that sound system. In addition to playing DVD-Audio discs, the system's onboard HDD will rip CDs (original and burned iTunes) for stored playback of about 3,500 songs. The system can remotely control and play playlists that are stored on a USB-connected iPod, iPhone or memory stick. Bluetooth-enabled music storage devices (e.g., iPhones) can pipe playlist selections to the sound system with amazing fidelity. Oh, and there's XM and FM. The most impressive aspect of the TL's sound system is the presence and clarity of its 440w Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. While DVD-Audio discs are limited in selection, you can find some road-trip music that will carry you away: Zeppelin, Santana, Eagles, Clapton/BB King, Crystal Method, and Fleetwood Mac, among others.

Best Car for the money right now.

I shopped all around the lots, my lease was up on my gs350 and it was great for 2006 but its 2010 now, no updates lexus? BMW wanted WAYYY too much $ for the car they gave, All the domestics had nothing to offer at the same price point. LOVE my sh-awd tech packed TL. WAYYY better than my GS350, better for the money than a bmw 535, little bumpy ride for passengers, but im the driver and dang do i love the awd, can do donuts without a single tailwhips, unlike my lexus, so that means i can accelerate hard on turns and not be scared its going to kick on a lot of lights and tail whip...like the gs... Get a spoiler lip on the trunk of this car, its a finished look, without it it looks odd and out there. Acura is dealing hard, GREAT lease factors right now, get a fully loaded top of the top one for about 600/mnth with very little down.

Not a clone

I drove a Lexus ES, an Infinity G37, looked at the Caddy and the BMW and purchased the TL Technology model. Without question you can't beat the TL for the money. The G was a performer, but frankly a little small and you need a personalized license plate to pick it out in a parking lot. I like the fact that the TL is not only the best value for the money, has great interior, but also that it is not a clone and has its own look. It doesn't hurt that it is one of the most reliable cars on the market either, with a very low total cost of ownership and high resale value. I also like that it is not ala cart option selection. By the time I added up another brand to match the TL it was quite revealing. Be original, make a statement, and have fun.

So close....but no Bimmer

First, I give major kudos for the technology side of the car and cockpit feel. Having owned a 2005 TL Nav, I was looking forward to upgrading to the AWD TL Tech. Disappointments: 1) Shape of trunk opening... not very function. Angled edges makes some of larger boxes difficuly if not impossible to get in. Serious drop in exterior design score. 2) Rear seat pass through only... Even the TSX has a 60/40 folding rear seat for greater utility. I don't see why the TL can't have one too. Most sedans in this class offer this either standard or at least an option. Would rate interior design a 5 if this wasn't an issue. 3) Bucktooth beak... I can't take it any more... the previous style was classy...or at least not so extreme... taking a decent symbol to the extreme... need I say any more? I am looking forward to see how the 2011 TSX Wagon looks and performs. If it is available in AWD V6 Tech package, I will be probably be trading in the 09 TL. Overall, if you need AWD, practical functionallity combined with performance; recommend waiting to compare the TSX Wagon with some Sport Wagons or at least AWD Sedans that don't have the limitations mentioned above...but they may other minuses...so it will be a personal preference... Some possible options... Cadillac CTS (and Wagon), Infiniti G37, Audi A6 (and Avant), or BMW 5 series (plus GT and Wagon)... depends how much performance and function you need... Disappointed and trading it in...

acura tl 2001

great car but at 122,000 I think it is time to buy a new car. Best car I have ever owned but I think it would probably be best before things start to go wrong.
