Vehicle Overview

The M6 is BMW’s high-performance version of its 6 Series line. It has more aggressive M-specific styling cues and is powered by a turbocharged V-8 engine. The M6 is available as a coupe, soft-top convertible or as a coupelike four-door, dubbed Gran Coupe. All have rear-wheel drive. The M6 competes with the Porsche 911 and Audi R8.

(Skip to details on the: M6 Gran Coupe)

New for 2015

The standard navigation system now includes a touchpad for the iDrive controller, and a Harman Kardon premium stereo is now standard.

The below is a list of highlighted features and not an exhaustive list. Features are standard unless otherwise noted.

  • Adaptive xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights with LED accents
  • Available adaptive LED headlights
  • Convertible’s soft-top takes 19 seconds to open, 24 seconds to close, according to BMW

Interior Highlights

  • Driver-centric dashboard layout with 10.2-inch screen that serves as the display for the iDrive system

M6 Gran Coupe

The Gran Coupe body style is equipped similarly to the other M6 versions, including the twin-turbo V-8 and choice of manual or automatic transmissions. The biggest differences are in the body style itself and the resulting interior space. From bumper to bumper, the Gran Coupe is 4.4 inches longer than the M6 coupe and 4.1 inches longer than the 5 Series sedan. The front seat dimensions are essentially the same as the coupe’s, but the Gran Coupe boasts a roomier backseat with three rather than two positions.

What’s Special

  • A new Bang & Olufsen edition of the M6 Gran Coupe comes with a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium stereo, unique design cues, and, courtesy of the Competition Package, 575 hp. Just 10 will be produced.
  • 20-inch wheels
  • 35.3 inches of legroom versus the coupe’s 30.5 inches
  • 37 inches of headroom versus 35.8 inches in the coupe
  • The Gran Coupe shares the coupe’s 16.2-cubic-foot trunk, which is 2.2 cubic feet larger than the 5 Series sedan’s trunk

  • BMW M6 The last generation of the recent time

If Mercedes offers the new S-coupe, or even more exotic version of that like the new s coupe Maybach which enters the market that only Bentley and Rolls-Royce use to dictate, Audi give us the new R8, there is always the Porsche and if 6 series is the best BMW can do in coupes, it's not gonna end well for BMW. Not saying that 6 series is not a good car, just in the opposite its awesome, but its just not gonna be good enough to compare with the Mercedes' version, so that's why BMW is taking it off the shelf and replace it with the new 8 series. This might be both bad news and good news for those who is planning to get one soon, expect for the fact that it's the last generation so the value of the car will remain pretty much the same, if you can keep it in a really good condition, it's gonna bring you a fortune in the near future, but also the size of the car and the performance are actually just in the sweetest spot, it's super elegant and sporty looking but not to a point that it looks like a car that people would drive it in the fast and furious movie, it's more like a car that people would drive it in a bond film, like a guy with good shaped body, but instead of wearing a tank top to show if off, he chose to wear a suit. The exhaust sounds beautiful but only when you want it to be, it's not gonna go crazy in the 2000 rpm, but once it hit 3000, it's like that like guy with super fit body rips of his shirt after he took of his suit. Interior and the technology are also wonderful, easy to use and once you get use to it, it becomes so handy that you can operate it in your dream. The only disadvantages of this car might be the truck space, but you are not going to be driving this car to Costco every sunday afternoon, so you will be fine.

  • FUn to Drive a Real Head Turner

I went from an exotic to the BMW M6 and haven't regretted my decision. Being over 6 foot tall the M6 has plenty of cabin space which make the ride enjoyable. While not the quickest car off the line it does have plenty of power under the hood to make you presence known. The M6 gets attention so be prepared to have people drooling over it at stop lights....
