One Great truck

The Colorado is a great truck for someone who wants to "go the Extra mile". I have 340,000+ miles on a 2005 model.

Poor replacement for the S-10

Truck is reliable. I've got almost 200k on it now. The transmission went about 180k. I guess that is to be expected. I have some huge complaints about the truck, though. Lamps are always going out, and headlamps get moisture in them. My biggest complaint is the heater. It's noisier than a 79 jeep heater. I have to run it on half speed to hear the radio comfortably. It's been fixed by the dealer twice. Once they replaced the switch/resistor due to intermittent blower working. Another time, they replaced the blower. I almost hate this truck due to the blower. If you're looking to buy, definitely check out the heater on high speed. Maybe mine is just an oddball.

I love this truck! It has survived three daughters

This is a dependable and functional truck for women who don't like to relay on others for hauling items and for 4 wheel drive needed weather. The clearance is enough to get through deep snow and yet not high enough to require a ladder. The comfort of this vehicle is great. Three daughters have learned how to drive and two have had accidents in it. It kept them safe from Deer crossings that weren't expected.. This vehicle also has been used as a prom vehicle. Who could ask for more!

Owned for 12 years and counting...

Excellent medium duty truck. Tows whatever I need it to. Even with it being a 2wd, with traction control, I never got stuck in any Nebraska snows! Great gas mileage for a truck from that year. Granted I'm 5'7", but I found it to be plenty roomy for a smaller truck.

Sporty looking, functional, good gas mileage.

Fun to drive and serves my purposes well. Used mainly to drive to work across town. Back seat is adequate for others to ride along as well.

Thought I wanted a smaller truck

I had a full size truck with electric seats prior to this one. This seat is to short for me, I am 6 ft 2 in tall and find the electric seat in a full size truck fits me better. I have arthritis in my shoulders and back and desire the more comfortable seat. This is my primary reason for selling. Below, the survey ask the primary use for the car. My primary use is not listed as this is primarily a winter vehicle as I live on a mountain and need 4 WD.

Best/Worst Truck ever

I have a 2005 Colorado 5 cyl Auto. I like the utility of the vehicle however the ABS when the unit is in snow and four wheel drive is unsafe. In an emergency stop situation the vehicle will not stop. It is like the system is pushing back. Normal stopping is ok if you lightly feather the brakes that does not work in an emergency. I have spoken to other owners in winter and the problem is rather common. Still looking for a solution short of disconnecting the ABS in winter. Or selling the truck in warm weather. I have been driving in New England for 50 years + and this thing actually scares me a bit.

05 Chevy Colorado Truck

As stated the vehicle is average. Not super on MPG (or as advertised) but does qualify well in cargo space and light hauling (Towing). Suprizing is the low RPM's at higher highway speeds... this is a manual transmission with a more than hefty to operate clutch. Affordable available Bling can be purchased and installed with ease for sprucing up the basic model. It's still New to me so time will yeild more of an opinion as to it's overall value and practability.
