2016 Chevrolet Colorado

I thought the truck with the 4 cylinder engine would be under powered , but with the 6 speed automatic transmission it has more than enough power.

Poor Performer

Engine/transmission hesitation and shifting problem. GM knows about the problems with the 2015 and 2016 Colorado and Canyon with the 3.6 engine and 6 speed transmission. They updated PIP (flash program) at least twice and the problem still exists. The latest PIP now calls the problem "normal operation" and they will make no more attempts to repair. My truck has been back to the dealer seven times and they say they can't fix it. Since I can't afford to take several thousands of dollars depreciation loss, I am stuck with a poor performing truck that is a potential safety hazard on wet streets.

Looks cool bad performance.

I have the Trail Boss edition. Z71 4X4 loaded out. The biggest downfall is the transmission. It's constantly skipping at low speeds. 3 months in and I was ready to be done with it. I will say. It's incredibly comfortable. The gas mileage is amazing for a truck I can take offroad. If the transmission could be swapped out I would have no complaints at all.

Nicest pickup I have owned.

Love my new pickup. Great fuel economy and comfort. I drive a lot and it has great connectivity. I like the clean diesel.

Hesitation Problems

Within a few weeks after purchasing, I took this truck back to the dealer for bad hesitation problems. In town, after turning a corner at low speeds the truck would hesitate like it did not know if it should increase fuel or down shift. Cruising at around 40 MPH it would do the same thing. At highway speeds it would do the same thing. The only way to get the truck moving again was to MAKE it down shift. Some times it downshifts two gears. I found that I have to be really careful on wet roads and loose gravel. The sudden downshifts would make the rear tires spin. I consider this an extreme SAFETY HAZARD. After numerous calls and emails to Chevrolet CustomerCare I was finally told that they would do NOTHING to help my situation and to take it take it up with the purchasing dealer. Seven trips back to the dealer and now, they tell me they can not fix it. The dealer did offer to trade it for a new 2017, but it turned out to be a good trade for the dealer, but a terrible deal for me. Lemon law or lawsuit? I cannot afford a lawyer, so I guess Lemon Law.............

2016 Colorado Trail Boss edition - awesome!

Bought this truck new back at Thanksgiving 16 - Z71 Trail Boss edition crew cab 4wd V6 awesome styling inside and out compliments everywhere it goes, reminds me of the mid 90s - early 2000 S10 stylings, the first week I had it I drove round trip 1400 miles in 21 hrs it was very comfortable all day and towing a car and a trailer half that distance was very easy to drive, it did it with ease a bunch of times I had to look back to make sure the car and trailer was still back there, only 4 things Chevy could improve on to be a perfect truck - my opinion, obviously power even with 305 hp in the V6 feels sluggish due to its 6 speed automatic trans, same as the Toyota Tacoma both felt the same power or underpower wise but Im a musclecar guy so I think everything should have a V8 in it - V8 would be the ticket but they wont do it due to the Silverado competition, 2nd like most trucks it doesnt sit level the front is 2" lower than the rear just looks goofy I had to buy a 2" front suspension leveling kit - $50 on ebay - to make it look like it should, looks 100% better, 3rd wish the sliding rear window was powered its to far back to reach to open and close on a 4 door, and 4th Im old school guy - 46 yrs old - theres no CD player even optioned so you have to use satellite radio or plug in your music I still listen to alot of cds so basically my stereo is just a really fancy am fm radio, other than those minor things, just my preferences great truck for the money and value, they dont offer leases on them as well, mine is the hard to find Trail Boss edition crew cab in laser blue with all the factory black out items including rims and bigger aggressive off road tires, I will be keeping this one for a long time, supposedly no more Trail Boss edition for 2017 the only real competitor for the Colorado is the Tacoma and the Colorado beats it every way more HP more towing capacity - 7000 lbs on the Colorado and better gas mileage - Toyota doesnt offer any real discounts on the Tacoma youre basically going to pay sticker price I tried to get a deal at 6 different dealers in 3 states, I got the Colorado $9000 off no trade $1000 down great deal and looks alot better than the Tacoma Im glad I held out for the Chevy!!

Best Mid-Sized truck on the market!!

This truck has been the best most reliable vehicle I have owned. I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 currently along with the Colorado. I sold my 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara 4 door for the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 4X4 Trail Boss and I do not regret the decision at all.
