Best sports car in the world for the money.

I owned one for 4 years. Only put gas in it and changed the oil and tires. In all that time. 345 hp. 3250 lb. Top speed over 170 mph. Handled like a go-cart with air conditioning. 18 and 27 mpg. With 20 year old technology. Is the rest of the world kidding me?

S0 far its dependable for a 20 year old corvette

I?d say for one it is in good running condition looks good inside and outside of the car. And it comes with extra stuff like car seat covers.

C5 Corvette Targa Top Coupe

To put it very simply - the BEST "bang for the buck" on this planet in sports cars! QUESTION: What other sports car - including those costing possibly several times the price - is so pleasing to the eye, has 50 years of history, offers up to 29 MPG @ 60 MPH on the highway and can go up to 350 miles on a single tank of gas, has room for 2 large suitcases OR 2 sets of golf clubs, is capable of 175 MPH+ and can get from 0 to 60 MPH in under 5 seconds, straightens curves like it's on rails @ 1.0 G, turns on a dime and dead stops in 125 feet from 60 to 0 MPH and can be maintained/repaired by any competent technician? ANSWER: NONE. PERIOD.

Blast from the past

This car is one of the best cars I have ever owned. The classic LS1 rumbles beautifully, and gets you from point A to point B very quickly. Great for just cruising, but turn off the traction control and you?re ready for some fun!

Love my C5

Fun to drive and comfortable for long road trips. Great highway mileage too. Leave it completely stock or do some mods with it, there are plenty of new and aftermarket parts and accessories available. Not as low as the newer models that scrape on everything!

LOVE MY C5 1998 CORVETTE

PLENTY OF COMFORT AND RELIABILITY FROM THE C5'S THAT WERE PRODUCED FROM 1997 THROUGH 2004. MOST RELIABLE ENGINE GM EVER PRODUCED, EASY TO WORK ON AND STILL DESIRABLE AND COLLECTIBLE BY CORVETTE-LOVERS, YOUNG AND OLD.

Disappointed in corvette

Always wanted a Vette, retired, empty nester, bought one and sorta enjoyed it till I drove some German and English true sports cars. The chevy Had electrical issues, body panels didn't match up well, cheap interior, flimsy seats, rattles galore, harsh ride, exhaust issues, oil leak with less than 20 K miles! More of a muscle car than sports car! I did enjoy events and people at the Museum in Bowling Green, KY.

So much fun to drive!

Great car, stylish, sporty, fast, handle great and people watch you go by. I go out for a short spin and end up coming back hours later and even then I don't want to stop.
