Fast and Reliable for a Great Price!

This car is great, the only 2 things that it needs are an updated double din radio and some projector headlights. Besides those two things the car is fast and fun. Maybe put an exhaust system on it and then the sound coming from it would match its iconic look.

Fun great looking fast head turner

Where they skimped on the interior, they made up for it on the exterior and the power plant. This is a serious car for serious fun.

C5 Corvettes are bargains!

This is probably the most performance car for the money one can find. Quick, powerful, with great handling, gobs of power, and easily driven at all levels including around town, these 'vettes are also reliable and low maintenance. Chevy hit it right with this model. With some looking one can find a well-maintained low milage car even though they are approaching rwenty years old.

Way too fast Red.

Traded in my wife's Sebring Convertible as a post mid-life crisis (her's, not mine) She loves the Vette. Very reliable car, great fun to drive. Gas mileage around town is 19mpg, on a long trip 27mpg. Perfect condition. Original soft top and rear window. A "garage queen" for Sunday drives.

busy replacing parts

I purchased this 1998 c5 about 4 months ago from the original owner with 66, 300 miles. I absolutley love the looks and driving of this car, however I have had to replace the shifting cable (automatic), oil pressure sending unit, right rear wheel hub bearing, water pump, thermostat, hoses, and now getting ready to replace the knock sensors, They are notorious for corroding on various GM motors, You have to pull the intake manifold to get to them. I knew before buying this car being 17 years old with low miles it has sat quite a bit and knew I would have to replace some parts. I just hope this beautiful doesnt keep me turning wrenches more than turning the wheel driving it. I am beginning to become discouraged because it seems as soon as I fix one problem, within a week or two another problem pops up.

my 1st vette

I waited many years to buy my 1st vette and did I pick a dandy .This car is a blast to drive with the 6spd manual transmission. Very fast and handles great. gas mileage is great too, I average 27 to 28 highway and 19 to 22 city. I have the convertible and only wish it had a power top instead of the manual top, but its not too bad putting it up or down just have to get out of the car. Performance is good for an almost 18 yr old car.. I recommend this Vette to any one looking for performance on a budget as the c5's are very affordable

Love it, Fast and Fun

let me start by saying i used to own a 2000 Z28, which was faster than this because it had mods. But this car is the coolest car you could ever own. I bought mine from a dealer and the previous owner had it painted yellow and every one asks me how can you affored that? Everyone thinks its a 2015. I have had no problems with it yet, and i get on it every day. It is very fast especially on the highway you could floor it at 75 and be to 115 in no time so be careful. The only thing too look out for is the transparent top it dulls so bad and fixing it is a pain. Hopefully I have helped you decide to take the leap and buy it! You wont regret it.

Great Car to own

This is just a wonderful and fun car to drive. Everywhere I go and I pull up people are looking at the car like it is a rock star. This is my second Vette, the first was a C-4 model and this baby blows it away.

The C5.......A Fantastic All-American Sports Car!

PROS: Beautiful styling Excellent handling and overall performance Very comfortable power seats with lumbar adjust Lots of legroom Car is tight and solid even after 15 years and 4 owners! Coupe hatchback is excellent for loading/unloading Lots of room in back - 3 in-floor storage compartments Good gas mileage for a performance car CONS: Must be very careful going in and out of driveways (low) Fairly significant road noise (EMT tires at 30psi) Cup holder inadequate......we replaced with aftermarket
