I love it!

I just bought another Impala after mine was in an accident. It had over 160,000 miles on it & it ran great! I was so upset when it was towed. My new Impala is 2008 & I love that one so far too.

Great, reliable family car

I've had this car for several years. Never broke down on me once. Good in snow. HUGE trunk. Love it. Love the console and front bench seat. Traction control. ABS. Small glovebox. ha ha. Easy to see out the rear window using the mirrors. There is a wicked blind spot, though. Need to check mirrors and turn around every lane change or you'll be in trouble.

Not the most reliable

I'm in the process of finally getting rid of my Impala LS V6 2003. The first two years were wondeful, the last two years and $3000 later and I can't wait to sell this vehicle. You name it , it has been replaced. It took three tries before the DMV finally gave up and passed the car for emission testing;with a waiver. Sadly disappointed. However the good points- I really enjoy the ride, very comfortable and I thought it handles pretty good in the winter. This car will nickle and dime you to death.

A really good vehicle, part 3

Our car was purchased new and now has 130k miles on it. It still gets good mileage. Recently, the 'traction active' light has started coming on when it shouldn't. Sometimes it will turn off right away, sometimes it will stay on longer and actually cause the ABS and traction control to shut down. The warning lights on the dash give me a message. I called a shop and they said it could be a bad wire or something minor...or it could need a new hubs. For now, we are not repairing it...playing it by ear. The car has also started having trouble with the ignition switch. The antitheft thinks someone is trying to steal the car. My '98 Malibu had the same problem. The solution is to turn the car on for 10 minutes, then take the key out, put it back in, and try to start....repeat until it starts. The security light may or may not flash when this is happening and it gives the impression that the battery is very dead. This problem is very intermittent and therefore difficult to resolve. I would still buy this car again. It is still very solid and has little if any rust. We want to buy a new vehicle this winter, so putting new tires (min. $400) and another $500 in repairs for the other problems problem isn't going to happen. I would consider a new Impala if we didn't need more space.

Dependable used vehicle

I have been very satisfied with my '03 Impala. It has an A-List of features, gets about 30 MPG (HWY) and has plenty of power for my needs. I can see me owning this car for awhile to take care of my daily commuting needs.

this is a good non luxury car

I have been driving my 2003 impala for 5 years now. I bought it used and it had warranty for 100000 miles. Overall I am happy with it, but if you want something more stylish or luxury, this car is not for you. I has good gas milage, I think. I drive it to work and back ( altogether 64 mi 5 days a week. I have to fill it up once a week, but if I were to drive it on the weekend I will have to fill it up more. It is very spaceous inside, I have compared it to VW Passat. Goood value for the money, definetely

Very solid first car

I got my Impala in December of 09 and it had 124,000 mi on it. Its a 3.8 litre V6 LS. I thought it was a lot of miles for an 03, even if they are mostly highway miles. It rides smooth and still has a little pep in the step. And other than changing the fluids, replacing a window motor, and changing the brake pads it hasnt given me much hastle. 129,000 mi and still running as if it were 29,000 miles in. Great car.

Replaced our Honda CR-V with this Impala.

We bought our LS model used in May 08 to replace our CR-V which had developed engine problems. So far it has been extremely good to us--good gas mileage, very smooth ride, and comfortable. My wife likes the heated leather seats and I like the performance of the 3.8 V-6. The only issues we have had is that the ABS went out at 75,000 and it goes through tires pretty good. My minor complaint: no light in the spacious trunk!
