Its not a bad car. Seats are pretty uncomfortable. Leaks oil. Fit and finish is marginal. Due to a design flaw, the rear strut plate rubs on tire and these are the factory rims with factory recommended sized tires. Recommend you research many sources to ensure you feel good about what you get into. There are many out there with 200,000+ miles so there is longevity if you take care of it.

Meh..

This car drove for about 10 years. I personally had to do A LOT of repairs to it towards the end, and it was not worth the money. The car felt like a boat to me, and it has the worst turn radius out of any vehicle I have EVER driven. If you are looking for a cheap reliable car, there are so many more better options. I just got a hyundai elantra, and it drives like a dream.

Impalas are very reliable

I've owned a 2004 impala up until this year. And she was still in good condition. I got into a serious accident in 2016 and she still survived (minus some outerbody damages). She got me around until I decided to by a car that wasn't Frankenstein on the outside. Now I own the 2006. She's very clean and runs like a champ. Impalas are always the way to go. Hopefully she lasts me just as long as Paula did.

Major issues around 200k

I bought this car used in 2011. It was great, got it with 68k on it! I never had any major issues. Besides routine maintenance, I had a $8 hose blow, and a $2 clamp snap. For about 200k miles! My transmission unfortunately blew, but with any car I knew something major had to happen soon. Other than the trans, the car was great and never failed me.

This car has it all

Bought this car in July 2014 with 70,000 miles on it. This is the super sport version, the other trim levels, with the exception of the LTZ, did not appeal to me. This cars has been driven in brutal Michigan winters and very hot summers and it's held up great. I get a lot of compliments, mainly because its an SS. It looks good, it's dependable, gets good mpg's despite having a V8. After 3 years and 65,000 miles later I have no complaints. Just do your basic maintenance and these car will last forever.
