The Greatest New Car I Have Ever Owned!

I got this car in 2013@a Chevy dealership for a very low cost. It was one used for a couple of weeks to shuttle people. Therefore I got it literally for what everyone is paying now for them! It has all of the warranties & services I am still enjoying! It has been just a beautiful vehicle! The only thing I have had to do is servicing it & very minor tiny things! It is still so classy! The interior has held up & looks just like I just got it! The exterior is beautiful as well! It has a beautiful moon roof that really set it apart. When the registration was renewed it went through DEQ with a perfect score! It has power, drives like a dream & is the best new car I have ever owned! I would recommend this year of Chevy Impala to anyone!

Typical Rental Car

This car is a basic rental car - nothing more, nothing less. Exterior styling is "meh", while the interior is cheap looking, with plenty of hard plastic that looks more at home in a Cavalier from the '80s or '90s - not a 21st century Impala LTZ. The car does have some bad blind spots, thanks to the thick front and rear pillars. Acceleration from 0-45 is OK (my '07 Solara SE Sport V6 was a bullet in this category), but is great for the 45-60 range. The best fuel economy that I have achieved with this car was 33 mpg on a trip from western PA to Williamsburg, VA in December a few years ago. The tires were new, low rolling resistance types, the oil and filter had been changed recently, and a new K & N air filter had been installed before the trip. Usually, it gets about 28 mpg on the highway. The most annoying thing about this car deals with the fuel/emissions system: in the six years that I have owned my LTZ, every spring the DTC light comes on (code P0455) and I have to replace the evap canister, gas cap, and purge control valve. Once the computer resets, then I have to drive it on several long trips in order to have the "incomplete" status since last DTC to go to "complete". This is expensive and a certified PITA. Why did GM's engineers design a xxx system like this, with no system backdoor for dealerships to clear the incompletes, and thus allow the owner to have his/her car inspected in a reasonable amount of time? I am sick of this.....if I knew then what I know now, I would have never traded the Solara for this glorified rental.

Great Car

This is only the 2nd car I've ever owned in the last 12 years and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. My last car actually lasted me 12 years and it was a great car, so I'm really hoping to get just as many years, if not more, out of this car.

Third Impala and still same problems

Had a 2006, 2009 and 2013 Impala and can't believe G.M has not corrected the same problems with all three vechiles. Worst car I have ever owned and will be my last G.M vehicle.

This is my 3rd. Impala. I started in 2003,'09,'13

This type of Chevy 6 cylinder got me where I had to go. With in Louisiana, To Florida East Coast, Northwest Houston Klein, & Lawton Oklahoma. No Problems I took good care burn good gasoline( Shell) oil change every 4K miles. This model is the last of the bench seats. I think this is a keeper and I will purchase another vehicle soon.

3rd Update ( previous Oct.1, 2015, June 1, 2017)

It's been 3 years of experience with this car. Thankfully, absolutely no problems at all with this Chevrolet Impala. No expenses other than those incurred by normal manufacturer's suggested maintenance schedules. Good, reliable and dependable so car. Still getting 23MPG with this 6 cylinder engine (city driving mainly). Still feels solid when driving. No rattles, squeaks or annoying sounds. Gives a feeling of confidence when driving it. I've even come to like its styling more since purchasing it used with approximately 14K on it. I believe following the maintenance schedules and keeping it detailed and clean has helped greatly in keeping it running strong and looking well. From the good experience I have had so far, I have no hesitation in recommending Chevrolet Impala.

A total waste of money. A cheaply made car.

This is a expensive car to maintain and that's without any error codes. Here is a quick list: No hood, glove box, trunk, or console lights. The clear coat is molecule thin and the paint thinner. The windshield is extremely thin glass and everything puts pecks in it. Only one tight turn at slow speed will pull the front out of alignment. The Oil Life is short for less than 220 miles a week on the highway. The TPM System is terrible. The tires either inflate to 34 or 24 frequently. The passenger seat seat belt doesn't retract and I rarely have a passenger. The Bluetooth system is erratic. The head gasket was tested for leakage and passed but white smoke appears almost anytime of year. The oil is changed when the oil life reaches 20-30% and when changed, it looks like 10K+ mile oil from a truck. All this and no error codes and basic maintenance. The transmission kind of jerks on occasion. The dealer$hip has test driven the car with a computer running diagnostic software twice and found nothing! I pulled away after picking the car up and it shifted wrong immediately and confronted them and they scattered. I will see the service manager if he ever returns from lunch. I have always purchased Toyota cars and never experienced these type of problems. I currently have a Toyota Corolla 1999 and spent less than $1300 the past 5-6 years and that's including basic maintenance, tires, front struts. I spent $2200+ on the Impala with no error codes this past year.
