Surprise Surprise

I recently financed a preowned Malibu. I had no idea that I would love it so much. I needed a car that gets good gas mpg, and is comfortable. I am 6'6" and have trouble find automobiles that I can fit in, and when I do the vehicle is usually not very good on gas. I was so surprised when I got this Malibu. It handles well and for a four cylinder its got some spunk. I am truly happy about this purchase . Its been awhile since I have had car I was proud to drive.

chevy malibu

Chevy Malibu is the best car I owned, what should I say about the car let's start from outside what's makes this car to stand out the grill and headlights .and the interior is the best the green light on the door knobs and rear viewing mirror that shines down at night " it makes you to feel like u flying a plane. You should taste car before they go away because they coming out the newer version in 2013 and I don't like it.

Best Value for the Money

We purchased this car to make long distance trips to visit our grand daughter. This car is very comfortable for the 9 to 10 hour drive. The four cylinder and six speed automatic have consistently delivered excellent gas mileage, with average mixed driving of 27 MPG, on long trips south we average 35 to 37 MPG and actually hit 40 MPG during ideal night time conditions in flat areas south of the Mason-Dixon line. The car now has 41,000 miles and has never be in the shop except for oil changes and routine maintenance. GM got it right with this car and I'd buy another when the time comes.

Get compliments everywhere i go

I have the pretty red 2009 Malibu LT. I love the spunk of this car. When i want to pass or pick up the speed it is right on it. I am short so it is imperative that the driver seat adjust, and this one does very well. It consistently get 22 mpg. It does have blind spots but once i learned where they were i have had no problems compensating. The turn by turn navigation was fun while I had it, but I only needed to use it sporatically. I have changed oil as recommended and this car has not had one problem otherwise. I researched before i bought and this car has lived up to its top ratings.

MPG NO WHERE NEAR ESTIMATES

PROS: Intuitive dash controls and functionality with XM and OnStar standard on LS model (2009 model year) Impressive ride smoothness Nice exterior details Roomy cabin with plenty of storage for driver and passenger CONS: Actual average gas mileage WAY under estimated 25-32 mpg Vinyl pieces such as the door trim scratch and tear VERY easily (wife barely nicked car door panel with her nail and put a nice gash in the vinyl) Lacks agility; over-sized steering wheel makes handling awkward Small trunk opening (barely fits a medium suitcase) SUMMARY: Overall, the two main reasons I purchased this vehicle was (1) I received an excellent deal at the end of the year and (2) I had anticipated on receiving decent gas mileage considering it only had a 4-cylinder engine. Turns out gas mileage averaged only about 18 mpg during the winter and 21 mpg during the spring. Very disappointed in the gas mileage but since I only paid $11,500 for a 2009 LS with 27,500 miles I figured I would only lose money by trying to get rid of it now. Replaced air filter, flushed engine fluids, drive conservatively, don't use auto-start and use full-synthetic oil but still no change in mpg. Finally took it to a few dealers and even to a friend, ran codes and all they told me was that the engine is basically too small for the car. Some other issues with the blinker not canceling (apparently normal for all Chevy's), faulty blower motor (replaced under factory warranty) and exterior rattling from rocker panels are less significant but still make me wonder if the old saying is true, "you get what you pay for".

Great CAR!

I bought this car and only had for a little over a year. Paid $20K for the fully loaded V6 LTZ, absolutely a beautiful car. I am in my late 20'sand didnt want the mundane look of the everyday sedan. I have to say that Chevy has really impressed me with this design. After 25K miles we sold it for $17K. It was the best car we have owned and I would love another one. Extremely comfortable, roomy, quality interior, very peppy sporty engine. I heard it was the same chasis as the cadillac and I wouldnt doubt it. Excellent safety features and crash test ratings! The only downsides that werent a big deal, but a drawback were: Passenger side mirror doesnt autodim at night, rear window has somewhat of a blindspot, the vanity mirrors werent great. The reason we got rid of it was we have 2 kids now and there is only room for 2 car seats in the back realistically. So we couldnt have any other passengers with us on trips. I recommended it to everyone, even got my mom to buy one. We miss you Malibu!

Great Car for a good price

I bought my Malibu a couple months ago after trading in my 2005 Trailblazaer. I have 3 children and wanted something better on gas because I drive quite a bit everyday. Although, my Malibu doesn't have the cargo space that my TB did, it is still very roomy. The rear seat is a bit cramped for 3 kids, of which 2 are in car seats, but it drives very smoothly and I really love the overall appearance of my car. So far so good.

I will buy American from now on

I haven't owned an American car for many years and, when I was ready to replace my Honda Civic, I had decided that I was going to buy a Nissan Altima. Then I saw the Chevrolet Malibu. This car is amazing! The quality of the materials used on his car are far superior to the import companies. The interior on my LTZ has got a nice wrap-around dash with woodgrain accents and two-tone leather. The imports are very blah inside. The ride is excellent and very quiet! Very Cadillac like. The side glass is double-paned which contributes to the quiet ride. It handles very well and stays flat in the corners. Trunk space is huge! The seats are very comfortable and the gauges and controls are easy to see and use. My malibu has the 2.4L 4 cylinder because I wanted good gas mileage. It has great power and I get 33 mpg on the highway and average 29mpg on a tank of gas. The only thing I dont care for is the 6-speed transmission. It shifts from 6th to 5th gear on the slightest hill. Chevrolet should put a CVT transmission in this car. Then it will be perfect! I love the styling of this car also. Oh, and the headlights are VERY bright at night! No problem seeing at night, thats for sure!

Excellent family car

Bought new (LTZ, 6 cylinder, black - black / red int), has approximately 15,000 miles on it - mainly from short distance city driving, etc. The styling is elegant but not old and still sporty at the same time. Gas mileage is decent. The hands free is great, but refuses to work with my phone (junk verizon phone.) Rear visibility is ok, not anything to be overly concerned about. My one TRUE complaint... there should be some sort of locking gas cap or cover offered with the car. Aside from that... I LOVE this car.
