Malibu ready for the SS version
This is the best Malibu GM has produced since the late 60's". Performance, Styling and Reliability are just the beginning of the story. I have over 36000 miles on my 2009 and have enjoyed every mile. Comfort level is great on long or short trips and so is the Performance. Great gas mileage and power when you need it for passing. Handles like a sports car and I would recommend GM bring back the SS version just for the fun of it. The six speed automatic is vary responsive and can only imagine what a six speed standard would do. I would highly recommend this car to my family and friends.

09 Malibu LT
Love this cars looks for this price range. Bought my LT used. Test drove this and an Altima. Would have to give the Altima the nod in pure power and handling, but it's a little pricey. Overall pretty happy. Wished the interior had a little more too it than the all plastic door panels. They squeak a little when pushed on.

Still A Renter..
I rented this car and was surprised by it's front seat comfort, but I was really disgusted by the quality. It had pieces that I could pull off that aren't supposed to come off. The trunk is massive but it has a low opening due to the styling. The Clicker Noise Is Great! I still wouldn't buy this over the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, or Ford Fusion.

Kicked my old accord v6's back!
Wow, i really thought this car would be cheep, but once i drove it off the lot and waved bye to my honda, i went flying. I love the car to death. I usally get a new one every three years, but im never getting rid of my baby. It has the V6, and i LOVE IT!! Great pickup. And i got my LT for about $18,999! Great deal with 0% financeing for 72 months! On top of that u get the LIFETIME Warrenty! So once the cars paid off whats the point of selling it? Buy this car, its my first american sadan. I know alot of people think there cheeply built, i did till i got this amazing car. One negitive. No navigation. But i just got a garmen.

By far greatest car I've owned
I've only had the Malibu, the LT1 model, just over a week but in that time I've never felt about a new vehicle as I've had about this. I've owned GM vehicles before, they've been alright except for my last one, a '95 Cavalier, no luck with that so I never figured I'd buy another Chevy, but boy I'm glad I checked out the new Malibu's. If anyone needs a midsize and just considers the Japanese cars (I just traded in one) they are doing themselves a disservice. This car is totaly awsome and amazing for the money. It looks, rides, handles and has features like a car that costs at least ten thousand dollars more.It is so quiet and rides amazingly smooth. It handles well for its size and is so very comfortable and well put together. The dash and lighting is so gorgious. Very well done, GM !

Best New Car I Have Ever Owned
I bought a 4 cylinder Malibu LTZ a few months ago. I really like it a lot and would recommend it over the Camry, Accord, and Altima. The motor delivers good passing power and smooth off-the-line acceleration. The transmission is one of the best I have encountered in a vehicle in this price range. It delivers really good gas millage, without using premium gas. I get 26-27 mpg in the city, but about 34 on the highway. I like the way the car looks, especially in dark blue like mine is. The inside is really nice, covered in black leather and metal-like trim. The dashboard is clean and organized, unlike the Camry or Accord. The reliability has been great, not a single issue at 9,000 miles. And when I brought it in for service, the dealership was great, much better than the Nissan dealer was. (I formerly owned a Altima) TO sum up, I feel that this is the best car in its class, and should be put at the top of your list.

Pure road trip pleasure!
After rolling our beloved 2004 Malibu Maxx - and walking away unscathed - my husband and I replaced the car with the Malibu LTZ. After a road trip from Cincinnati to Florida and back, I've absolutely fallen in love with it. The car handles beautifully and the V6 provides plenty of ready-and-willing horsepower. (We test-drove the 4 cyl. - don't bother!) The ride is smooth and extremely quiet, even when cruising at 80 mph, and the braking is very responsive. The leather-wrapped wheel is nice and beefy, with "positive-grip" bulges to keep you at 10 and 2. I haven't used the TAPshift much, though it's nice to know it's there (but how do you use it in the middle of a sharp turn, and why can't it be on the gearshift like everybody else's?). The styling is a far cry from the previous Malibus, which I always thought were practical but homely. The exterior is downright sexy, though the taillights could use some rethinking. (The LTZ does have added white lenses that improve the overall effect.) The interior features a lot of super-swoopy lines, chrome bits, and two-tone colors that take some getting used to. Our brick/black combo seemed a little loud at first, but it's grown on me - and I love the seat warmers! The center stack controls are intuitive and nicely designed, with an innovative sound system interface. The abundance of compartments for stashing stuff is great, and there are many unexpected, thoughtful touches, like the soft LED downlamps that illuminate the console area and the door handles during night drives. Luxury, bells and whistles, quality, and performance for under $30K. What a treat!

Worth every penny
The new LTZ is the best bargain on the market. Loaded with features, comfortable, handles very well for a front driver, lots of space and pretty good gas mileage considering the size and weight. The drawbacks are few but important: very large blind spots particularly around the windshield pillars. The high trunk blocks rear vision and the slope of the hood prevents the driver from seeing the car's corners. The transmission should be remapped to improve mid-range kickdown. All those can be minimized or eliminated with careful driving. But I do wish the car had front and rear sensors to show how close I am to other vehicles when I'm parking. Overall I'm very satisfied with my LTZ and recommend it to all who ask. People who have bought the car on my say so are very happy with their choice. Summary: Buy one but get the big engine.
