2013 Chevrolet Spark consumer reviews

After six oil consumption tests,the loss was due to a bad PVC valve with a replacement valve cover.So far no excessive oil loss.The good news is the warranty covered the costs.

I bought my 2013 Chevy Spark new in 11/2012 and now I have almost 36K miles on it and up to this point it has performed well, even getting 37mpg. The issue I am now having that greatly concerns me is with 67% oil life left from my last oil change my check oil light came on and my engine was low 3 quarts?? This greatly concerns me since I just had it serviced about 3 weeks prior. I am not taking it back to the dealership before my warranty expires.

This car has everything I need with nothing I don't. AND the biggest bonus is that this little guy can squeeze into parallel parking spot in my neighborhood that other cars can't! Saves me so much time :) I bought this car in the middle of the 3rd snowiest winter in my area and it has handled it like a champ. All the driving I have done in it so far has been city so the MPG has been more like 30-33 that the super high highway possible highway mileage. But 240+ miles on 8 gallons of gas still makes me smile.

I got my spark 15 months ago and have up 38,000 mile on it. I drive it for work going house to house so a lot of start and stop driving. Still I average 36 mpg. I like everything about the car except the engine. I change the oil every 3000 miles at the dealer but still at 30,000 the engine was shot burning g tons of oit. GM warrentied the engine and not at 38,000 it is burning oil again and looks like I will need a second warranty engine before I even get to 40,000 miles. GM has been great through the hole process but still the quality of the engine is horrible.

I am a other owner with oil conumption issue.As I type this,I going thru a fifth oil consumption test.Frankly I don't really want a new engine-how about a NEW Spark!And I hope my dealer will make good on warranty.

Bought this car for our 16 year old daughter. We were on a budget & wanted something frugal with a warranty & roadside assistance (new vehicle benefits). Tested other makes and were unimpressed with the prices and year-end offers, but when we saw the Spark at the Chevy dealer we instantly knew she would love it. After a test drive and review of the features and benefits we decided it would be her Xmas present. While Mom and daughter were out of town for 2 weeks I drove the car to accrue the 500 break-in miles and swallowed my pride. I found the interior space surprising for such a tiny car & the MPG was stellar. It only took 8 gallons to fill from almost empty! It is reasonably sporty & responsive for an economy car & I found it fun to drive. Chicks car? Yes! But it's a great little runabout and I had a blast driving a youthful car for a change. Back to my gas guzzler for the luxury penalties...

This is a great city car. Gas mileage more than expected. For as small as the car is the ride is smooth and does well on the highway. Di not have problems with the winter storm 2014 in Northern Indiana. Others were not able to get out but I did. I am sure with another foot of snow I would have been stuck too. You can't haul a lot but I was able to get a new lawnmower in the box and close the back hatch and bring it home. I can get my German Shepherd and Australian Shepherd in the back with no problems. Everyone is surprised how much room there really is in this little car. I have had the car for a year now and still love it.

Consumption :( I have a 2013 Spark. LOVE THIS CAR!! I average 41 to 43 MPG. One Problem, on a recent trip I put 3000 miles on my car. I head a ticking noise and pulled over at a nearby gas station and checked the oil. I WAS 3 Quarts low?. I was told that the Spark has a history of heavy oil consumption and a certain VIN range requires a complete engine replacement. Anyone else experience this? The car is in the shop now and I am waiting for the official prognosis. You will see I rated all top scores because this is the best car for the money you can get. I love the infotainment system.

We got our spark roughly 8 months ago and its everything I thot it would be.We were looking for a economical car for work that would be used a lot and this car was the ticket.I work daylight and wife works night turn so the car is used by both. Over 15,000 miles on car and avg 41.2 MPG with about half those miles highway. Have to laugh at the folks that complain about this car,what did you think you were getting for $13 grand?If you wanted performance you should have got a corvette or the Camaro SS..I did..I you wanted to haul stuff and room for 4 or 5 people,you should have got the Silverado crew cab..I did.This car is exactly what you paid for...a great way to get you from A to B without empting your wallet. Another great Chevrolet product!!!

Adding to what,Sparky in Midwest from Michigan, had to say. I also have had my Spark for a year since November. Same issue, 100 miles round trip form work, but i am over 40k now and as of my last oil change i am buting at least 1/2 quart of oil. Took to the dealer they are to check out if there is any known issues on this or how to fix the issue. I made sure to take the Spark in will low oil so they could see that i was not making any stories up as that i took it in on a Monday and had a recent oil change the prior Tuesday. NOT GOOD! Love my car, sad that i am having this issue. Was told that the next step will be an oil consumption test.... ....... I would of recommended this car to friends until this problem.
