SS vs Standard Trailblazer
Something not mentioned in these review. "A Trailblazer LS/LT IS NOT in the same league as a Trailbazer SS. OK, with that said let me explain. The standard Trailblazer has an inline 6 or the 5.3l V8. It uses the less capable transmission and transfer case as well as a much smaller rear differential. To give you an example, the rear differential in a SS is the same as an H2 Hummer (yep, the big one). The engine is an LS2 (same type as the Corvette Z06) and the trans, a 4L70e, super heavy duty unit. The SS also feature front Corvette brakes and Air suspension. There are many other features that are different from the standard Trailblazer. Comparing an SS to an LS/LT is like trying to compare a smart car to a real car...

unimpressed
The passanger space is limited, with small children it's impossible to fit three in the back seat using car seats. I owned mine for almost four years and all I can say is I'm glad to be upgrading.

The worst car I have ever owned
I have had a 2006 Trailblazer LT with the 5.3 V8 for about 3 years now. We bought the vehicle Certified, with about 20,000 miles on it. We now have 85,000 miles on it and it has been in the dealer about twice a month for repairs. The gas mileage is worse than a Tahoe or Suburban with the same engine and it has no more power than the inline 6 engine. I don't know if I can think of an interior piece that has not fallen off of the vehicle. We started with electrical problems roughly 3 weeks after we bought it. 4 different dealers told us that they knew what the problem was but since they couldn't replicate it they could not get GM to authorize the repair. Then we went mechanical. Oil Pump, Fuel Pump, Radiator, Sensors. All of them. Then it was the entire engine at 35,000 miles. Now the vehicle will shut off in the middle of driving up the road. I bought the car for my wife and 2 kids. I cannot have them driving a vehicle up the freeway no knowing if it is going to just quit running! I have owned cars from Ford, Nissan, Infiniti, Saab, Audi and Dodge. I cannot believe how unreliable this one is! The worst money ever spent!

2006 Trailblazer SS AWD w/ LT Package
PROS: Extremely powerful drivetrain (LS2/4L65); All Wheel Drive; Loaded with Luxury Options: Navigation, Heated Seats, Memory, Rain Sensing Wipers, Integrated Rear Entertainment, Leather/Suede; Highly comfortable & supportive front bucket seats. CONS: Gas Mileage--I get 14mpg around town with a light foot, and as high as 16mpg on highway trips; GM interior materials & quality; Chronic Fuel Gauge issues. 2006 Model doesn't have the 100k GM Warranty like 07+ Models.

great for camping and everyday use
This SUV is great for camping! It can fit lots of camping gear in the back (with or without the seats folded down). It can carry 2 kayaks on the top and 2 bikes on the back. It also has a hitch to pull a camper or boat! When you are not camping it is great for everyday use. It is easy to drive and park. It isn't as good on gas as a car but better than a larger truck. It is a SUV that can be a truck or car...whatever you want it to be! My final advice is to go for the model with the sunroof and power seats!

2007 chevy trailblazer
I have owned my 2007 chevy traiblazer for about 4 months now. Iam very impressed with the stabilitrack feature which gives great handling in the ice and snow. The on-star technology with hands free calling is state of the art, and very convenent. The sound system is top quality as well. The most impressive thing about this vehicle, is how smooth and quiet it rides while doing 75 mph. on the open highway ! It is without question the best vehicle I have ever owned !!! Kudos to cars.com for all the great information provided.

Trailblzer SS Monster
These SUV's are awesome. Where else can you have AWD and almost 400hp in this price range. If you can get beyond the Chevy plastic interior, the suspension and motor are amazing! Do not buy this SUV if you are concerned about fuel, it will stop at every other gas staion on your trip...but it will be fun getting there.

Very disappointed they stoped making them!
I was shocked when I wanted to buy a NEW one and was told Chevrolet has discontinued they manufacture. I would have bought a new one the last production year. Really hoping Chevrolet gets enough complaints that they reconsider in the future and start making them again. I know they are not fuel effecient but because of where I live, I HAVE TO HAVE 4 wheel drive to get to and from work. Guess I'll have to change brands when I buy my next vehicle!

Cheap
Everyone I know loves theirs but i've had mine 2 1/2 years and i hate it! It shifts gears very rough. Coil pack went. Hose fro the rear winshield wiper disconnected from the inside of my hatch so it does't work. Check engine light is on because the fuel gauge has been broke and the only reason i haven't got it fixed is because im told it will just break again within the next 6 months. The control panel for the power seats is haning by 1 clip. It's so low to the ground in the front that my 4x4 SUV GETS STUCK IN THE SNOW. Very unhappy with the quality.
