Thought it would be nice to get a good used family safe
Thought it would be nice to get a good used family safe suv but unfortunately I am stuck paying for a car that has spent more time getting towed than driven. The motor is a bad design and of course you don’t learn about that till it’s too late. The pcv valve gets frozen because of a bad design when the water builds up and you are in a cold climate it freezes and blows out the rear main seal. I had that fixed and about 2 weeks later the timing chain let go I’m assuming it’s due to a lack of oil in the hydraulic tension device. What a piece of junk. I always tried to buy American and be proud but that didn’t work. My daughter has a Rav 4 that has 250,000 miles runs like a top and has been hit 4 times and just keeps going. She only has 1 payment left and it is still going strong. Haven’t had to do much of anything to it besides brakes tires oil changes. What a great car. The point being that I will never buy another Traverse that sits in my driveway as an expensive yard ornament when I can get the Rav 4 and all it’s reliability!!

I have now had this car for over five years, as the second owner, and have over 275,000 miles. It's not as comfortable as Suburban, and doesn't handle as nicely as a mini van, but most of the issues to this point have been cosmetic or fairly normal for the vehicle category (suspension, etc). I have the most basic package; The interior is showing wear, and the driver information center's light sensor has been acting up for a while, but it still gets us where we need to go.

Great while it last but would not recommend again
I loved my car for the first few years I had it, within the last year I’ve had to put at least $4,000 into it. The digital panel where it started range til e and all the good stuff dims and you can’t see, my water pump went out, my power steering went out, my high pressure fuel pump went out, not to mention to get a tuneup you have to take it to a garage to take the manifold off to get the job done, and now my motor is toast…there are holes in my pistons…10/10 do not recommend…but I will say it was a nice car while it lasted but way too many issues and a crappy engine.

Haunted electrical system!
After I paid it off..approximately after 3years, the electrical system started malfunction. Windows wouldn't work consistently. Then one by one another electrical malfunction would show up. The dealer could never fix it and would never admit there was a problem or the fact there was a problem. Probably had no idea what to do. So..now..only one window works.. the tire pressure indicator is incorrect.. the back up camera stopped for 2 months then miraculously fixed itself before the new one could be installed..Lucky me! It's stopped a few more times since but corrected itself. YAY! The interior light on the shift console works occasionally. My engine light is on indicating my catalytic converters are malfunctioning. Though, last year it passed the smog test. My driver's parking light stopped working but the turn indicator works..same bulb.. that circuit it out or the bulb is too loose to connect..who knows. I pounded on the plastic cover once and it came on..haha.. but not for long. BOO. I would get another car but I can't afford it right now. OH..almost forgot..the driver's seat is falling apart.. the seat adjusters are falling apart.. have it taped to hold it together. I'm normal weight so that should not affect it. So..there you have it. I HATE the fact the driver's side window doesn't work!

Good for mock crash scene is about all
It spends the majority of its time in a mechanic shop, the lights on the dash will burn out before you find all the problems. Shifts like car that just got out of a demolition derby. A/C…better off using the windows, that’s if they actually work long enough to roll them up and down. Wobbles like Willy Nelson’s tour bus and get about the same gas mileage. Would recommend only to someone creating a mock crash scene.

I only drive to the mechanic shop
I've had traction control issues where my car would just stop on me which was very dangerous. Now my AC went out and my car is over heating, trunk won't shut all the way. Window motor on the driver side doesn't work. I got my car at 107k miles. I'm disappointed in this veh. My car is in the shop as I'm writing this review. due to the coolant system. This car has been a nightmare. Alot of electrical problems. I wish they would build cars better than this.

Not pleased so far.
electrical problems! Master door lock defective. driver side lock not working same time as other Three. bottom driver side door pin worn; door not solid. lock switch driver side defective. gas cap causing vacuum leak (engine light). Car not insulated properly, noisy wind and tires. Car has 160,000 miles, a disappointment for the number of miles, would not recommend to anyone, GM no more. The previous is my personal opinion. Please note also, there are many recalls on this vehicle.

Chevy shake or death rattle
I honestly can’t believe this vehicle has high reviews. When this vehicle was about 4 years old it started shaking with shifting. We tried changing transmission fluid and adding an additive. By 2019 the transmission was completely gone. We had to pay more than we owed on the vehicle to have the transmission rebuilt. Chevy has a recall on its bigger more expensive vehicles for the condition they call the Chevy shake because of chronic transmission problems but not this vehicle. We’ve had a plethora of electrical, radio and lighting issues. I’d say I just got a lemon but my daughter has a GMC Acadia the same year and it did the exact same thing at the 5 year mark. I also know 2 other traverse owners who’ve had similar transmission problems. The value of this vehicle fell so quickly that it’s not even worth a fraction of what other suvs are for the same year and class. I would say avoid this vehicle at all cost. But if you want to roll the dice still I got one you can purchase for next to nothing. Lol!

2014 Chevy Traverse
Went on a Friday evening, test drove the vehicle and my wife loved it and so we bought it. It drives like a dream, it sits up high and my wife feels safe and secure driving it.
