Explore the 2008 Dodge Avenger

Think twice before you purchase.

act with 2.7 v6 and 4 speed transmission. Good acceleration, as fast as my friends 2002 Silverado ext. cab 4x4 with the 5.3 v8. Fuel mileage city avg. 20 hwy. Avg 28. Had the transmission replaced twice and the front end replaced once. All within the first 60,000 miles. Have a reputable mechanic inspect before you buy.

230,000 miles strong!!!

I acquired this car from my dad as a hand me down a few years into college. This car has handled 2 severe crashes and multiple 14 hour trips. I'm in the market for a new car (my parents need this one for my sister who's closer to home just in case those 230,000 miles give out) and I'm thinking of getting another avenger. I can't get myself to part with it. A few odd things were never fixed after it got T-boned. The air conditioner clicks when you turn it on, but it stops after a few seconds or if you press the air circulate button, and the check engine light is usually on. We've had the engine checked multiple times and they just said something got out of whack with the accident, but the car is safe and runs perfect. Normal car maintenance like oil changes, fluid flushes, tires, etc., but other than those 2 little annoyance things (that are easy to ignore), it's the best car on earth.

Surprised previously unhappy dodge ram owner

Bought new Dodge ram 4?4 hemi. Worse vehicle I ever owned besides a Vega. My Avenger is a 2.7 plenty of power for interstate driving and very comfortable. Just rolled over to 110000 miles had 23000 when purchased has needed nothing but tires and brake pads and regular service.

Excellent vehicle for price .

96000 miles and have done nothing but regular maintenance on it . Other than our 2000 Dodge Durango the most reliable vehicle we've ever owned .

You get what you pay for.

The 2008 Dodge Avenger is your standard 4 cylinder sedan. The cars production came to a stop in 2014 when Chrysler basically replaced it with the Chrysler 200. I've had my 2008 Dodge Avenger for over two years now, and have had minimal problems with the car, but it can just simply be uncomfortable and sketchy. Sometimes, the car has a problem with switching gears, and the road noise is extremely loud in this car. I would recommend this vehicle to a new driver as they are fairly cheap and somewhat safe.

2008 Dodge Avenger with 226,000 miles.

I purchased the car with 17,000 miles on it in 2009 and now have 226,000 miles on the car. It has been extremely reliable and has only required routine maintenance. I would highly recommend this car to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and affordable daily driver.

Worst car with cheap parts I have ever owned

I have a 2008 Avenger and it only has 48,000 miles on it. Every time I take it in for an oil change with a very good mechanic, he tells me about another problem. The front tie rod cracked within 25,000 miles. He said wait a bit to fix it, because surely there would be a recall as he had seen so many issues with their tie rods. NOPE. They an air pressure sensor cracked all the way through and the tire leaked constantly until replaced. Only care that made it out of aluminum. Then while washing the car, I noticed a bubbling of paint along the entire hood. Also made of aluminum. Needed entire new hood. Chrysler did replace the hood but none of the other cheap parts. And they want us to buy AMERICAN! Then make a product we can all be proud of!!!!! Oh, and did I say it stalls at red lights when it feels like it! Don't waist your money on this piece of junk.
