Smooth and Quiet in Michigan

6 months of ownership, so far so good. Nothing at all negative to report. Interior space and climate control make it very comfortable for family of 4. Seat warmers very fast; great to have during this very cold and snowy winter. Best quality is smooth and quiet ride, especially nice here in Detroit where the roads are terrible. I see the 2008 has a handle on the liftgate whereas my 2007 does not, a very minor flaw but a little annoying. Great car so far and nice to know that it is an American car, although I understand that it was assembled in Ontario. Interior appointments like storage, MP3 jack, cup holders, cell phone charger etc., are well placed. Strong engine with plenty of "go" so gas mileage is only average, our city/freeway combo driving yields 18 mpg. We like it, very happy with purchase. And don't worry, I'm not a Ford employee hyping the product, just a customer that waited 5 years to buy a new car.

Started out great, then what happened

I bought my Edge in March 2007. It was great until we encounter problems after 6 months. Then for 5 months we dealt with intermittent problems going in reverse. The reverse gear would shift late and then when it did, it slammed into reverse. At first, Ford could not find the problem. Then parts were replaced and now we are waiting for a whole new transmission. I was expecting to encounter some problems with a first year release vehicle, but it was very frustrating to first try to convience Ford that there was a problem and then for them not to know what the problem is. Hopefully the new transmission will resolve it. This is car drove me over the edge. This is my last Ford.

Never Owned a Vehicle I Like More Than This One

After being T-Boned by a pickup truck while driving a compact car I find it hard to get back in a small vehicle. The Mercury Grand Marques that I have been driving lately is great, but it just isn't a snow and ice car. Ergo, I bought the Ford Edge and I love it. I bought the FWD SE model with no options and I think it is a great vehicle with a lot of features for the money. The only complaints I have are minor. The sun visors could be structured much better. The lack of daytime running lights is inexcusable. The headrest can be a little annoying at times, but it is positioned where it is for safety. For long highway trips I would still take the Grand Marques, but for anything else, the Ford Edge is the winner hands down.

NICE CAR!

This car is the best for mileage, performance and cost. I was concerned about buying a ford after owning a BMW but I love this car. It is very quite and a has good performance from the V6 and still has great MPG.

First Ford In 14 Years

After a 14 year departure from Ford products, we have purchased a new Ford Edge. Leaving a full size SUV for the edge was not a problem, as this CUV is plenty spacious. We were amazed at the rear passenger leg room also. After a month of driving, the car handles great and is a real joy to drive. I can't wait for my first long haul on vacation. Only one problem with the memory seats. They seem to be having a problem remembering my key fob from my wifes. Drivers seat intermittently will not reset to its' proper position when entering the vehicle.

I Love My Edge!

I have owned my Edge for 3 months now and have nothing negative to report. It handles nice, gets good gas mileage, and I have received many compliments on the vehicle. I traded a Honda CR-V in for it and wondered if I was making a mistake by not going with another CR-V. Dependability and good gas mileage were my two priorities in selecting a new vehicle. I decided to try the Edge and couldn't be happier with my decision. The vehicle rides much smoother and more comfortable than the CR-V. I am filling up more at the pump compared to my CR-V but enjoy the V-6 engine enough to overlook that. Ford thought of everything when designing this great vehicle. The true test will come with time to learn how dependable the vehicle is. However, with the newly designed engine I feel confident that this high quality vehicle will stand the test of time.
