First year it was built! No issues whatsoever.
It was a great car, 200K+ and still going. I sold it and it is still on the road. Just bought a 2017 Escape, love it.

A beast in disguise
182,000 miles on mine. Bought it with 3000 Just replaced the spark plugs for the 3rd time and now installed a k&n air intake got 30mpg instead of the 26 I average using 5-30 full synthetic max life. Amazing performance 340 miles on a full tank.

237k mi & goin
I bought an 01 V-6 Escape with 201k mi on original engine and transmission. I've owned it 2 years and will get another when this one's done. It's comfortable and functional. I depend on it for a daily commute & stick it to the floor to 6k RPM also. I just fix minor things that come up on any 15 yr old vehicle and stay on top of fluid levels. I only change the oil every 15k-20k mi. I expect to hit 300k mi.

My great Escape
I've had my 2001 2.0l I4 5 speed manual 2wd for 13+ years. I love the little thing as its the best all around car out there. Good and sporty on road, and surprisingly great off road to. Tartus like inside and eats all the cargo you can throw at it. Never quits and I can count on it starting every time. The engine maybe down on power for some but its the little engine that can and gets 25 to 30 mpg. I would highly recommend an Escape.

Great vehicle!
I got this car just before I left for college. When I purchased it, the mileage was 98k and now it has 140k. It's an awesome all year round car. 4x4 is smooth. Never had a problem driving in the snow. I've had the usual maintenance issues(spark plugs) but it's never had a major problem as long as you take care of it. As far as gas mileage goes, I burn a little over a quarter tank driving 160 miles going to school and coming home to visit. City is a little more challenging but still not terrible. Plenty of space and comfy. Great car!

Great vehicle
I have a 2001 Escape 3.0L V6 XLT 4X4 that just passed 213,000 miles and I've been very happy with this vehicle. I bought it 2 years ago for $2000 from my dad as he got a 2009. Gas mileage Avg (15-16 city/22 highway) although I have gotten as good as 27 mpg if I slow it down to 55ish. 4X4 has been great, never been stuck (well once but that was due to me being dumb and driving through a deep rut created by mudding trucks). very manuverable and good power. It's starting to have little stuff go out but it has over 200k miles. I've replaced the A/C compressor & ignition coil over the past 2 years. My only complaint is the cloth on the doors is starting to fall off, the foam underneath is giving out. Overall I've been very impressed with this vehicle
