I would probably enjoy it if it didn’t have so man

I would be happy with it if it didn’t have so many problems do to someone else’s negligence. It has plenty of leg room and I love the color

Reliable daily commuter.

It's definitely saves gas. Not a racer car but it has power. I just bought one and i think i will give it a few months and see.

I SURVIVED

The back passenger side shock absorber rusted away from the sheet metal wheel wall and the shock pushed against the tire acting like a brake. This was around a curve on a rock road, shaking me off the road into an enablement. IF YOU OWN ONE CHECK THE CONDITION OF YOUR UPPER SHOCK MOUNTS.

16 years old; 91K miles; reliable

Bought new in Aug 2006. I traveled often internationally for a decade; so low mileage per year. Great acceleration; comfortable seats; decent radio. Great cargo space. MPG was in the low thirties for years, but has dropped to the high twenties in recent years. I’ve driven it on several 400 (each way) mile vacation trips. No problems. Has done great in rain and snow. There was some rust under left rear wheel well; I paid to have it cut out. Only ongoing issue has been the weak air conditioning. No engine problems. Because parts are getting scarce for the model, I recently looked at some new SUVs. While the new cars have all sorts of new safety features, none seem to have the pick-up of my current car. And I actually prefer the simplicity of my car; so, I think I’m going to hold onto it for a while longer. It’s been one really good dependable car.

It’s ok with a smaller engine. 2.3L 4 cyl

Sill trying to figure how to get more than 23 mpg on this hybrid, anyone has ideas I’d like to hear them please. I changed the plugs but being a hybrid I don’t know what else I can do.

I owned a 2004 Ford Escape and loved it.

Mine was actually a 2004 model with 178,000 miles. AWD with the 3.0 Duratec. Its reasonable on fuel and very reliable. I would still be driving mine if I had not had an accident. I hope to get another one.

My 3rd Escape with 3.0 Motor

The mid 2000's Escapes with the V-6 3.0 litre engines are strong running and very dependable. Ny first Escape, a 2005 went 267,000 miles before a transmission issue. GREAT Vehicle !!!

Handles well and is roomy; back seats fold flat

This is a fun SUV to drive. Love how the back seats fold completely flat to haul furniture, vacation luggage and bags. Very comfortable seats.

Beware of problems in the 2006

I like the vehicle but beware of issues that they have. Lots of rust underneath. Rusting out where the struts are. Also the runners are rusting out. A/C went out a month ago and I had to get another compressor. The inner and outer tie rods were all ready to break and had to be replaced. Not really complaining about the work I've had to do because it is a 13 year old car and stuff happens. Just beware of the rust issues in certain Ford cars.
