Great Rig

I previously owned a Ford Expedition and loved it. It took me a week or so to get used to the Escape being smaller, but the pay off is well worth it. Great gas mileage, easier to park, and it still has a lot of get-up-and-go ( I have a lead foot!).

A top choice

i started out looking at the RAV4, CR-S and the Escape. I thought I'd choose the RAV4, but the Escape was the clear choice after driving all three. Its seating is higher, visibility is better and build quality (fit and finish) is at least as good as, or better, than the other two candidates. Combined mileage so far is 27 MPG with the V-6. Handling is outstanding. Console is especially cleverly done. Seats are firm, but still comfortable. This car is the perfect size for me.

OVER RATED

Bought off show room floor. Fuel gauge doesnt go to full mark, Has thump noise in suspension [ FMC knows it has that issue says it body bolt to fame] & shop didnt fix either one. Gas gauge, didnt know what to do about it?. The thump is still there?. Transmission sometimes has a hard down shift. Drivin it 6000 miles and best gas mileage 26.4 Hwy. Im just not impressed. Bought because I only buy Ford, this is disappointing one.

Very Happy

Bought a 2011 Escape after owning an F-150 for 10 years (I kept the F-150 as a second car, could not get rid of a vehicle that has given me 10 trouble free years that will still rock and roll, definetley an investment, so the F-150 will be used for home depot runs) I bought the XLT with the SYNC and Sunroof package and 2.5L 4 cylinder. Very happy, rides smooth but handles the road with confidence. If you are looking for a small SUV but dont want to sacrifice truck like capability... The Ford Escape is for you. I plan on having this SUV 10+ years as well.

Reliable, Safe, and a Joy to Drive!

Before my Escape, I had a 4x4 Dodge Short Bed Pickup, and honestly, this is better in the snow! It's so easy to drive on slippery, snowy, icy roads, and I feel so safe. I don't even have the 4WD on my Escape, but the front wheel drive has the amazing traction control feature, and it does JUST FINE for me. Love that I can plug in my iPod, and the 6 month trial of Sirius radio sort of got me addicted... The hands free driving SYNC bluetooth feature is pretty cool, not as loud and clear has holding your phone in your hand (especially for the person on the other end of the line), but still convenient... So much room in such a little car, it's a breeze to park. I opted for the fuel efficient 4 cylinder, and could not be happier with it. I average about 26-27 MPG in my every day driving (but have successfully done road trips up to 29mpg). After dropping from a V8 to a 4 Cyl, I have no lack of power issues, always feel like I have plenty of acceleration and she jets around like a dream. Awesome road tripper, if I have to spend all day in a car I want it to be this one! RECAP: I love this car and wouldn't trade it for anything, easy and comfortable winter driving, the best power you can get from such fuel efficiency, and a wonderful FORD product.

Great car for the money

I bought this car on a wim, just because I wa driving a big suburban and it was just to big in this area. I came from Maryland and I needed that big truck but I have been here for five years and it was to big for a little person like me. The escape is perfert for a little old lady like me of 64 years young and feeling sporty in my new ford escape that I just love. The oldie but goody music on sirrus is great, the sync voice is great, the large message center is wonderful as you can tell the small truck is now a part of me.

What a Ford!!!

This one is loaded and worth every penny especially the Sync system. It does everything but cook your meals. Ford also follows up with some neat on-line services which help one to keep track of things, learn about the vehicle, and receive reminders. This is my eleventh Ford and they just seem to get better and better in features and quality.
