Excellent small SUV

I didn't buy an SUV (my first AND my first Ford) for great gas mileage so I'm not going to whine about that like so many others. Test drove all the other cars in this class and though I liked most of them I couldn't stop thinking about the Escape. Can't really explain, It's just more fun to drive. Only had the vehicle for a few hundred miles but couldn't be more impressed with the comfort, ease of driving and more than adequate power from the 1.6 ecoboost. I have an SEL w/NAV, auto liftgate, tech package, FWD, Ruby Red. I've had NO problems setting up and using the SYNC/FordTouch. Functions perfectly. Take the time to read the manual. Love the push button start. Very convenient driving position, everything easy to reach. Does not drive like an SUV (thankfully) but still provides height and presence. Looking forward to a trip from LA to TX next month. At this point I only have two small complaints - I"m not a fan of the wipers that extend from the top and it would be nice to have one little cubby hole to put my phone or whatever. Otherwise, I look forward to driving it every day. A little pricey but what car with features/options isn't? Got mine for 30k.

2013titnium edition

I have just about 2000 miles and no complaints. The 2.0 L turbo has been exceptional so far. Great acceleration, no problem passing on the highway. Very quiet ride. Cruises at 80 + mph as if it were only doing 50. The Sony stereo system is awesome and the Bluetooth works flawlessly. I've been averging 22 mpg. If your looking for a small suv with style, and all the tech toys not to mention a great engine this is the car for you

Very comfortable car

My biggest diaappointment about my new Ford Escape SEL is the dismal gas mileage. The sticker said 28 highway-23 city for an average of 25MPG. We are approaching 10,000 miles and haven't seen anything better than 20.3 even though we were told it would improve after a "break in time" I sold a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee-with no problems- that I got close to 18MPG.I feel this car has been misrepresented and that I have been misled...

Love the ride

I needed a vehicle that gave me comfort and back support for a back and hip issue that has developed. I am happy to report that the Escape is easy to get in and out of and has a comfortable, support seat. I also love the ride itself...for being a SUV. And last, I LOVE the sync system for phone calls, mapping, etc. Very happy with my purchase.

Ford lies about MPG

If you want an SUV/CUV or whatever don't buy the Escape for the MPG it isn't close to being accurate. 17.9-18.1 MPG will be your range for the SE 4WD model. Compared to the other SUV/CUV's out there, you can get a whole lot more for about the same price and a whole lot better MPG. Don't buy the Escape unless you want to fill-up weekly for such a small engine car. Rather have a V-8. They both get about the same MPG. Very sad Ford!

Suffering from buyer's remorse

I bought the 2013 Escape SEL. I like all the bells and whistles but I feel like I'm in a car and not an SUV. I had a Chevy Equinox before. I miss the V6 power and the feeling of driving an SUV. I also have not seen very good gas mileage. The highest Average MPG I've seen so far is 22. I have 1400 miles on it and it has been cold out so hopefully the MPG will get better.

a step up for me

Very pleased and surprised with the handling and especially fuel efficiency. So glad I traded in my old gas guzzler SUV-4 wheel drive for the Ford Escape frontwheel drive

I am Ford convert!

Surprising performance, comfort and styling. More useful features than my Lexus or Infinity for FAR less money. I Love it!

Love this car but pay attention!

I have a 2006 Escape Hybrid with over 110K miles and not one significant problem so traded in my Mini Cooper S (now, there is a saga of unreliabiltiy!) on a 2013 Ford Escape Eco-Boost. I like a car with spunk and zip and dreaded getting a second SUV but this car is a (not so) little powerhouse. I have to be careful not to get too carried away and end up with points on my license. It feels like there is more room in the cargo area than the previous design and the comfort of the seats can give the so-called luxury brands a run for their money. I especially appreciate the auto open back gate and that the back seats recline. My only gripe is that the screen that controls virtually everything is not very user friendly and I just don't like the nav system. Also, because it is a push-button off/on system + the car is VERY quiet when it is running it is very easy to leave it running, lock it, and walk away. No, there is NO warning mechanism on the car that warns you that you are leaving a running car. I would chalk my doing this (it ran all night) up to early-onset stupid but then another person using the car did the same thing (someone much younger than me). This seems to me to be a design defect. Yes, I would buy this car again! I don't think there is better quailty for the price out there for a mid-sized SUV. I am soooo glad I didn't buy the ML 350 Mercedes Blue-tec that was my second choice. Kudos to Ford for this great product.
