Zippy SUV with good MPG

For 9 years I have been driving a 2006 Ford Fusion and just upgraded to the 2015 Esacpe Titanium. I am about 5 foot 10 inches tall and the ride height is just about perfect. I may have to raise my toes about an inch to slide into the seat and I don't have to lean down or up to get in or out. I didn't get the sunroof option and I have a lot of headroom (enough to wear hats without brushing the roof). I did several test drives and learned that the 2.0L engine is the way to go if you can get one. The 1.6L Ecoboost drops power past a certain RPM and the 2.0L doesn't. You will only notice the difference during a hard acceleration. I don't hard accelerate much but I noticed the power difference going down the interstate. From rest, the Escape wants to go forward and is a smooth zippy ride with plenty of power to spare. My Ford Fusion long term in town driving was just over 20MPG. So far the Escape is running between 19MPG and 20MPG. As my Fusion got older it lost about 2MPG for in town driving so my final long term for the Escape may end up lower. The Titanium level amenities are fantastic! The remote start pays for it self in the hot summer. I am using slightly more gas by idling it more but in the hot summer it's a price I am willing to pay. The large screen backup camera gives me better visibility than I can get by turning around in my seat to see behind the vehicle to backup. I am a little disappointed that my Android phone can't display on the sync screen for Google map directions. Also, I am used to using Google voice so learning the Sync commands take a little getting used to. The nice thing is it does allow even control of the air conditioner but navigating my phone's playlists is not working well. These are all minor points compared to how great the vehicle feels to sit in and drive. One cool feature I am loving is the ambient lighting, especially at night.

Need to Escape

We just purchased a leftover 2015 Escape Titanium AWD and traded in a very disappointing 2014 Honda Odyssey. The Honda was like an Apple iPhone, you can have anything you want as long as Apple thinks you should have it their way. The Escape has 10 way power seats in front; the Odyssey had an 8 way for the driver and 4 way for the passenger. Really? Many other issues about the Odyssey made us throw up our hands in disgust; but I digress. The Escape we got was completely loaded with equipment. It scoots along with its 2.0 turbocharged engine and corners like an SUV-based go cart. So far it is a pleasure to drive even on Oklahoma roads (which are notoriously bad). Tunes are great and the car is very comfortable to drive. Still reading the owner's manual to figure out how to do things but the controls are straightforward and simple once you do it a couple of times. Sync is fairly comprehensive and is intuitive to use. You can either use the touchscreen or use voice commands. Reliability is an unknown at this time, but we opted for an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty to cover all bases. That reliability question is left unanswered and is responsible for the average rating. If you want a car that's more fun than a CRV(owned one) or an Equinox with appointments no Mazda or Toyota can match, you probably can't go wrong with this car.

So far so good

I purchased a Ford Escape 2015 three months ago. I like the fact it is all wheel drive moving to 4 wheel drive when I need it. Looking very forward to see how it does next winter. Love the interior, love never needing to take the keys out of my pocket. I never had a full length sun roof before and i am in love with it. Every time I get into it I look forward to driving it!

Like the looks

This is the second Escape we have owned. Found both to be comfortable and easy to operate. We just traded our 2010 for a 2015 and so far have found it be a very nice ride. All the controls are within easy reach, plenty of room and easy access. We would highly recommend this vehicle to others.

great redesign

We traded a twelve year old escape for the 2015 and surprised with how Ford adapted to the times with a tight sporty ride, double the mileage (old 3.0 vs new 2.5),and easy to use sync system. Well done!

Love my 2015 Escape

This is my first SUV and I'm so pleased. It was used with 6100 miles when I purchased it a month ago. I live in the Smoky Mountains and it handles the mountain roads well. I mostly drive in the mountains and still average 24 miles to the gallon! I have back problems and getting in and out is painless and the driver seat is very comfortable. I also love the bluetooth capability and Sirius XM radio!! I have absolutely no complaints about my Escape! Thank you, Ford Motor Company, for making such a nice vehicle.

Good car

Interior needed more foot room for the gas pedal and brake. Area needed more room for my feet. Gas mileage is a disappointment. Most other cars get 5+ miles or more to the gallon, compared to the Escape.

10/31/2015-Phil Long Ford Lease

I leased a 2015 Ford Escape from Ivan Muniz today and the service was excellent! I leased the vehicle from Phil Long Ford at Chapel Hills. Ivan was professional, courteous, and very quick about closing the deal. He made the process seamless, and I felt that he made the customer his number one priority! I will recommend this sales person and dealership to others in the future!

A Sports Car That Can Tow 3500 pounds

I've driven Escapes since 2002. This is my third -- a fully loaded Titanium. I've had it for 2500 miles now. Fantastic car. I drove a number of competitors (Mazda CX-5, Nissan Rogue, Subaru Forester and Outback) and was totally willing to buy the winner. PROS *Best acceleration and handling of the bunch. I did a road trip that involved a number of passing situations and, when asked, this car rocketed and stayed in control. *Very comfortable seats. The only car I tested that had a fully-adjustable electronic passenger seat. *A tech and convenience feature set to rival top end brands. *Buy far the highest towing capacity. CONS (minor) *Some controls, like climate, aren't as intuitive to operate as some competitors. *A somewhat busy interior that may turn off some buyers. COMPETITION NOTES *The Rogue had perhaps the most elegant interior but the engine felt like it was straining any time it was asked to step up, even in relatively low speed situations. *The Subaru Outback drove like a heavy tank. I'm sure it deserves its reputation for quality and utility but it was a snore to drive. *The Forester (not a higher trim model) was no driver either. It also had a few cheesy annoyances, like a plastic ridge under the window armrest that rubbed on my elbow. (The Escape scored highly on touch points.) It was very spacious, though and I'm sure functional and reliable. But I found the Escape far more interesting. *The Mazda CX-5 is a great vehicle -- perhaps the most elegant and beautiful exterior. I drove the highest class with leather seats and found them less comfortable than the Escape's. Even in that class, the passenger seat was manual and had no lumbar support. The Mazda came in a close second and I considered getting it. But the Ford hit on more levels and so far I have no regrets. I love it.
