haven't owned vehicle long enough to know
in my price range, like the color, seems to run good. Has low mileage for the year. Has a cigarette lighter that actually works. had to get the linkage fixed.

Great truck.
We purchased this truck new in 2003. I still have this truck. 2002 Ford F150 V8 Triton has served me well. Over the years, it looks & rides better than any newer vehicles I've ridden in & see on the road. No, it doesnt have a lot of modern features. But this was built for when people purchased vehicles to drive. Not drive a computer. Solid performance even all these years later. Great truck.

Always had some minor problems
I bought new @ Turnpike Ford, had some problems before and after warranty ran out but now I cannot get a state inspection sticker because the frame is rusted so bad and has cracks. I called Ford and got no help. My truck was the only one with a rusty frame. My daughters father inlaw haJd this problem with a Toyota and Toyota gave him help but not ford.

my steering column broke
This truck has been a good truck for me it is. Me around back and forth for My Horses to pair my kids was comfortable with people in it got I got close to 200,000 miles on it in the steering column broke away from the dashboard somewhat so when I adjust the steering wheel it now shakes when I'm driving moving up and down I just hope it's safe I haven't had a check I still own the truck that 248000 miles on it by voice fixed everything that needed fix right away I had to wheel hubs go out in it I have had a U joint break in it front and back mama I have changed the brake pads or brake shoes of one brake drum I had my neighbor done all the labor I paid for the parts like anything when you own it and take care of it and it will take care of you I didn't want to pay that $35,000 all over again come on Ford make a truck that's reliable without all the bells and whistles just a list common folk can get back to Forth to work and afford a vehicle it's not fair that the Common working labor person has to pay for truck all his life trucks cost more than most houses

Built Ford Fragile
I bought this truck new from Prestige Ford, Garland, Texas in December 2001. My first major problem was early in 2002 when I had to replace the U-joint (or whatever Ford calls it). Next I had to replace the master cylinder a few months later. Since I had a 500 mile weekly route I'd exceeded the warranty mileage and had to pay a non-Ford mechanic to do it since I could not afford a dealership mechanic. Since the master cylinder is inside the bell housing this involved dropping engine to get at it. I did have to limp it to a dealership for a fitting that requires a proprietary Ford tool clamp it to the transmission. Periodically the hydraulic line to the clutch and brakes had to be bled because the clutch pedal would go flat to floor and had to be pumped 3 or 4 times to engage. The starter motor went out without warning leaving me stranded in Durant, Oklahoma until I could get a local mechanic to tow it in and replace it. Frequent brake repairs were an extra hassle because the brakes would rust weld shut and smoke from the wheel wells forced me to have it towed in lest I burn up something else. Various problems, such as the fuel line needing to be replaced, continued right up until the present. I don't drive it much these days because I can't rely on it to get me too many miles from home and back. Every make and model has a bad run from time to time and this 2002 F-150 Sport may be Ford's but I'll never chance another one. This was my first Ford truck and definitely the last.
