Just what I was looking for.
Truck meets all of my pulling and hauling needs. Lots of interior room, including leg room. Plenty of power, and surprisingly easy to handle.

Decent truck
First auto diesel I've bought, so far it's a very solid vehicle. A little rough when it's cold, but once the engine warms up, it purs like a kitten.

Great truck, reliable truck.
The 6.0 powerstroke is a great all around truck. Has plenty of power tow and a very nice ride for being a 1 ton truck. Mine averages around 17 mpg stock which is impressive for its size. Interior is fairly basic on xlt and lariat trims but Harley Davidson, King Ranch and outlaw editions bring it up to a nice touch. They do require frequent oil changes as the oil has 3 jobs to do. 1) lubricate the engine 2) operate the fuel injection system 3) control the turbos vane geometry. The 2 fuel filters also need to be changed often. Once they become dirty, injectors won't get a full fill and causes premature wear to them. When owners neglect these you can quickly see how they received the reputation they have. Be proactive on your search. Get records from previous owners, bring the vehicle in for an inspection as well as paying to get the motor scanned and take a look at how the vehicle has been taken care of overall.

expensive to maintain
I was happy with the F350 Diesel in all areas except cost of maintenace. I bought as a lease return one year old. I bought an extended warrenty policy and that was the best value for the money. It cost more the keep it on the road in six years than it did to buy. Engine problems started towards the end of the warrenty period, Two weeks before the warrenty expired it was in the dealer shop for 10 days with the engine out twice to correct an oil leak. Over the next year it was in the shop 3 times and averaged about $7k each time for engine work. The money I paid for repairs and the cost of the extended warrenty was more than the price of the truck

Just hope what I read about the 6.0 is wrong.
Just recently bought this truck 165,000 miles, and I guess what impresses me the most is the power, and regardless what someone said about getting poor mileage. I pick up (7) 500lbs drums and a turn around total 260+ miles. And on three different times I got 18.6 MPG. I was totally shocked expecting less than 12MPG. For those that intend to buy this truck, I would still consider the flaws that is known about this 6.0, is to get an extended warranty engine and transmission. 100K 4 yrs. American Auto Shield. I think this will be my best investment i did when I bought this truck. I would recommend the 7.3 engine less red flags.

Best truck ive ever had.
2011 I purchased a used 2006 f350 6.0, amarillo package. i was new to the diesel scene and only knew what i had read, i picked the 6.0 for many reasons, reasons like good turning, exellent towing, soild front axle, i liked the style, and i liked the bad rep the 6.0 had been given, it lowered the prices of the trucks and i was able to buy mine for 20,000$ flat all taxes included. after buying this investment, i upgraded the motor, and turbo, delete kits and turbos and heads. over all invested another 12,000$ into the truck, and have a lifted off road giant, now almost at 200,000. best truck ever.
