Really, really great car

I am 62. I have owned many cars over many years, mostly small because that's what I prefer. This car drives better than most any car. It handles extremely well. The new automatic dual dry clutch automatic overall is great. However, one must not be too gentle with it. It needs definite input from your foot otherwise it's computer brain gets a bit confused as to what you want. Also, the transmission has a down hill button on the side of the shifter. Use it. The transmission is excellent when used properly. Best cruise control ever. Excellent headlights. Quiet for small car. Mileage slightly better than advertised. I have ov ten thousand miles on my SES, and the car is my favorite car ever. Former favorites--Citroen DS, Volvo 1800E.

Few details I do not like

the problem with automatic transmission is with the hesitation I am experencing when I am driving (it like it is not getting enough gas) and on a hill I have almost had it stop on me as if I was driving a straight shift (also I turned into a parking spot and it almost died). I have taken back to dealer and they says there is nothing wrong. It just doesn't feel right. I have about 1,500 miles. I am also getting around 29 miles to the gallon which I guess is good because most of my driving is around town. Also cup holders need to be bigger. needs a place to put "stuff" also needs hand holds over doors to help get in and out. there is a cup holder in the door but it is too hard to reach especially if you are driving.

It is like buying hybrid car without paying extra

Ford Fiesta 2011 gives maximum mileage in its class. It gives 42-43 miles to a gallon on my daily commute from home to office and back, which is 85% highway and 15% local roads. On highways it gives 44-45 miles to a gallon. Also has bluetooth phone, MP3 player, I pod connection, USB drive, blind spot mirrors and capless fuel inlet. Drives smoothly too. On negative side, there is no arm rest for the driver, no day running lights, and the lights are not automatic.

Mileage 40+

Have Fiesta SE sedan for 5 days, drove 330 miles in city/suburbs and still have 1/4 tank, doing mostly 42 mpg. First time we own the vehicle which shows better than advertised mileage. Ford made exceptional small car, well ahead of competitors. It is very comfortable inside, the performance is good and the transmission is a masterpiece.

Good Fuel Economy & Fun to Drive

This is the first Ford I ever owned. I purchased it because research conducted pointed to this vehicle as best overall for what I was looking for (something with great fuel economy, that was fun, comfortable and had some style). So far, I have not been disappointed. The fuel economy is better than advertised with the six speed automatic. Performance is very good considering its a 1.6 liter engine. Handling is very good.Build quality is as good as any other vehicles in this class. Overall, I am quite happy with the Fiesta, it is living up to all the good reviews I read before purchasing it.

Best little car for the city

Small, practical, cute, easy little car. I never thought as a middle aged high income person I'd buy this car (my peers drive BMWs and Mercedes) but I'm glad I did.

real head turner

ok, for $17-20,000 you get a cool looking small car, all kinds of seat adjustments, i-pod hook ups, cell phone integration, ambient lighting, bla bla bla but, oh my gosh... where in the "H" is a simple middle armrest? thank you young designers, there's no need to be comfortable while you drive. it's such a simple thing that many new small cars can't seem to include as standard. you have to go to a ford parts dept and order one for $$$ and probably pay to have them install it. screw the fancy night lites, make the dang car ergonomic especially for that kind of price range.
