Riduculously good value

Bought an SE Sedan in silver. Powershift Automatic. This has been a wonderful little car for us. We have 2 kids, 5 & 8 and they fit in theback with no problems whatsoever. Very generous trunk space for such a small car, almost unbelievable actually. After figuring out the SYNC feature, we are in love with it. I can't even imagine another new car without it. Engine makes good power, not great, I mean 120hp is only 120hp, it's not slow, but you get the picture.!! you want fast ? get a Mustang GT. We drive mostly suburban and are averaging 30.7mpg. We regularly exceed 40mpg during hwy travel. With that kind of MPG's you can stick your future HUGE expense hybrid where the sun don't shine. If Ford really wants to rock people's worlds, bring in the diesel Fiesta from Germany.. 60+mpg ! This car does get a lot of looks, either because people really like it, or they have no idea what it is yet. Wait a while, they'll be everywhere. This car replaces a Ford Windstar, can there be a more vivid contrast ???? LOL Have driven it in snow now, can tell you that it would benefit from actual snow tires. It does pretty well with the all season Kumho's, but they have their limits. We did have one issue with the transmission not allowing the car to go forward and hard starting. Turns out there is a TSB from Ford on it and they fixed it in less than 2 hrs. It needed a PCM re-flash and a couple cable ends needed to have some paint removed. The car runs and shifts PERFECTLY now. I can't even begin to tell you what a great value this car is at $17,000. This thing should be a soul-less, spartan tin can at that price. They do make those if you like them, they're called Corollas and Versys'.

made a big mistake buying this car

Good gas mileage, doesn't have temp gauge or heating gauges, doesn't have any of the usual gauges. Doesn't have a CD player. Doesn't have enough leg room on drivers side. It is basicly an old fashioned car.

Horrible in the Winter

I love the Fiesta because it is perfect for me; however, it does not work well in the winter. I have had several issues starting it up in the morning. Sometimes I have to try to start it more than once. Three times now I have had problems with the gas pedal, it won't accelerate at all. The first time I got it to go, but it sped up really fast which could have been dangerous in a parking lot. The second time, I had to have it towed from work because it wouldn't move no more than a foot. This morning it did the same thing. It had to be pushed into the parking spot and towed to the dealership once again. This has been super inconvenient and I am really disappointed. To top it off, the dealership says they have another Fiesta having the same issues and they really don't know how they are going to fix the problem. Also, the man who towed my car towed another Fiesta the same morning having similar issues. I predict a recall soon.

No wonder it is the best selling car in Europe

We have been waiting for the European Fiesta for 8 years. We bought anew 2002 Ford Focus ZX3 and after a few years Ford made the Focus look like every other small car on the road. The ZX3 was distinctive and gave us the best handling car we have ever owned - 166K trouble free miles too. The 2011 Ford Fiesta Hatchback has styling similar, but curvier, to our 2002 Focus ZX3 and the handling is even better. It hugs the road like a go-cart. There is no 2 door option, only 4. We got the Lime Squeeze color and it looks great. We did not get the high tech Sync option but the standard AM/FM single CD player sound very nice with bass, midrange, and treble adjustments. The car displays mileage, trip meter, average mpg and instantaneous mpg. The seats are great because not only do they offer forward/backwards and recline, but also, up and down - pretty nice for a small car. The 6 speed automatic is very smooth. After my wife has driven it back and forth to work (I was only allowed it home from the dealership) for 2 weeks the average is showing 34.5 mpg - not bad. So far I have 3 small negatives: 1. there is no center armrest (but a very nice after market one is available) 2. the door cup holder could have been eliminated IMO. 3. there is no valet key (an extra remote key is very expensive). Finally, we love the car, it handles great, has great fuel efficiency and it turns heads. I hope is is as reliable as our 2002 Focus Zx3.

Amazing car for the money

I ordered my Ford Fiesta back in February, before I had even seen one or driven one. It's one of the best selling cars in Europe and was generating a lot of buzz, so I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed at all. It's so hard to believe my car is under $20,000. I have an SEL sedan and it makes every other car I've driven look like a cardboard box. The inside of this car has a flawless interior and is extremely user friendly. The trunk has enough room for everything I need, and I recently took it on a 5 hour road trip and it was comfortable for everyone, front or back seat. The SYNC is extremely useful, and I wish that the satellite radio was free forever because it is very interesting, especially when you can pick up MLB and NFL games anywhere. The heated seats are perfect for the midwestern winter, but I wish there was a heated steering wheel option! I drive an even combination of city and highway, and I exceed the EPA estimates in all aspects. I average about 38 combined, but I've been known to get 43.5 on the highway (at 75 mph with air conditioning on). It's ridiculously efficient, with most full tanks getting about 450 miles. Whether you're a young driver or an old, you'll find this car fun and affordable. I get so many looks in this car, it makes me feel great! I'd definitely recommend this to a friend.

Ford Fiesta Worth the Wait

When gas prices shot up a couple years ago I made the decision that the next car I bought should be a lot more efficient than the one I had at the the time (a Dodge Stratus). I researched the most fuel efficient cars available then but found each one lacking in performance, comfort, style or all three. I ruled out hybrids as being too expensive and complex. Around that time Ford unveiled the new Fiesta in Europe and started hinting that it would come to America. I decided I should wait for it. And wait I did. This past October I finally picked up my Fiesta, a sedan in ?S? trim with the PowerShift dual-clutch automatic transmission, and I can say it was more than worth the wait. The Fiesta exceeds every expectation I ever had for a subcompact car. It's most impressive attribute is the lack of noise, vibration, and harshness. At cruising speed all I hear is a gentle hum from the engine bay and some subdued road noise. The ride is as smooth as a midsize car. Handling is secure and inspires confidence. Though not a road-racer, the Fiesta responds with quick downshifts when you need to merge or do an emergency maneuver. The only flaw in flaw in my Fiesta's driving dynamics is that the transmission gets ?jerky? when asked to creep forward on a slope. In a couple cases I've experienced what feels like slippage in this situation. However, it always regains it's composure once back up to normal speeds. The interior of this most basic of Fiestas is solid but spartan. My ?S? model has no SYNC, power windows, or remote keyless entry. However, materials are top notch and everything is screwed together well. It has everything you need for day-to-day driving except a temperature gauge, an unfortunate omission since that can help diagnose cooling system problems and lets you know when you can crank up the heat. The front seat headrests sit at a severe forward angle which makes it hard to find the optimal position on the otherwise well shaped seat. The trunk is generously sized but difficult to access without remote keyless entry. There is no interior trunk release or key hole on the trunk lid. You have to unlock all the doors and then press a button above the license plate to get in. Getting back to my main reason for considering this car, fuel economy is excellent. I'm averaging about 35 mpg with a lot of stop-and-go driving. This is the best mileage one could hope for in something that's not a hybrid, diesel, or two-seater and better than anything I considered two years ago. I'd be willing to put up with a less sophisticated car to get this kind of efficiency, but thanks to the Ford Fiesta, I don't have to.

Great little car

Just picked up the car last monday and have been totally impressed with it. The dealer was great at answering all of our questions, and setting up the Sync feature with our Blackberry. Performance is not bad. We have the 6speed automatic with power shift option. It shifts smooth and quick on take off, and cruising at highway speed, you are barely touching the gas pedal. Overall a great car so far!

wonderful little car

I was looking to buy a VW Jetta Sportwagon TDI. Unfortunately All the VW dealers in St. Louis area suck big time!! Fortunately, once I decided that I am not buying the VW, I discovered the Fiesta. This car is TINY, but with a lot of luxury features. I was looking for a car that will give me a great gas millage, and in the Fiesta I found one! The car is very agile, and soak the pot holes with ease. The interior is quite upscale with very comfortable front seats. I LOVE the multimedia center, called SYNC. It comes with 2 years of traffic reports, news and weather. The doors are very solid, and feel like doors of a much much bigger car. The whole chassis is SOLID, and makes highway travel very quiet and comfy. The dealer was very accommodating, and was not a liar like the VW ones. The biggest minus for me, is the lack of center arm rest. I do not haul people, so the small trunk and back seats, are a non issue for me. If one needs more room in the back, wait for the 2012 Focus.

Great Tiny Car

A semi luxurious subcompact, with agile and comfortable ride. Excellent seats for thin to average people. Fat persons should be aware that the seat will be too narrow for them! And since so many Americans are too fat, they should try the car on a longer test drive than usual. The car has many luxury features - not the least is the Sync, entertainment / communication center. Very good fit and finish. Surprisingly quiet cabin, even in high speed on the highway. The back seats and the trunk are smaller than the competition, but if one compare it to the Smart car and the Mini, it comes on top. Its main competition is the Honda Fit, which has more room in the rear, but is not as luxurious.

Reliable Car

I live in the UK where this version of the Fiesta has been out for a couple of years already, and I have owned mine since early 2009. My one is a 3dr hatchback with a 1.6 and 5 speed manual gearbox. It's quick (especially around town) and does 40mpg. I've covered just over 98,000 miles and the engine is fine. The car feels as good as new, and there are no faults to report yet. I hope to keep this car for a while as it has been far better than I had expected for a car in its price range. Excellent value for money!
