2008 Ford Fusion consumer reviews

Bought this car in 2012 with 124,000 miles and have had zero problems. At the time I bought it I was an account manager and traveled over four states to meet my customers. This car has a 6 cylinder engine and is AWD. I now have 164,000 miles and it runs as if it's brand new. Mileage for this car is around 26 MPG and does great on 85 octane regular unleaded gas. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a good looking reliable car for traveling.

Just purchased a 2008 Fusion with 50,000 miles in Sept of 2012, and have had nothing but problems! I have twice taken this car to the mechanic with leaking power steering fluid (had to have hose replaced) and leaking transmission fluid, as well as the rpm needle jumping up and down (transmission lines also had to be replaced) I originally chose this vehicle because of the excellent consumer reviews, and I loved how it looked. After driving it for a few months, I really don't like the feel of it, either. It never seems to be aligned, and feels very jerky and tight at times. Will not buy again! Already looking for a replacement!

Bought my '08 Fusion SE four years ago, and now have 130,000 miles on it. I have had absolutely no problems with it, none, zip! I wonder how is that even possible. I love the styling, I love the interior, I get around 28 mpg city/highway. Coming from a Honda, I am surprised how great this car has been. I'm considering upgrading to the new 2013 Fusion, but I have a feeling this one will last me awhile longer.

We bought this Fusion to replace our aging but low mileage 1997 Camry. The Fusion had 51k miles when we bought it over a year ago. The ride and comfort level is good, no squeeks or rattles from inside. The 2.3 four cylinder is one of the loudest and most corse motors i've ever heard. It doesn't matter how you drive it it is always loud and intrusive, but if you accelerate hard its down right hard to listen to. The transmission isn't much better. Around town it feels sloppy and pulling away from a stop there is almost always a significant delay before it kicks in and goes. With a very light foot the best gas mileage i can get around town is abot 16.5 mpg, 17 at the very best. It shines on the highway though. It usually averages 30 mpg if driven properly. I love the SYNC feature although it can be finaky at times and not connect to our iphones. I would not recommend the four cylinder fusion and would not buy another one. I feel that our 1997 Camry was just as good of a car and far better in quitness and ride.

Quiet comfortable car. Gave my accord ex to my daughter and I drive the Fusion. Less road noise, better seats, good power with the 3.0. Getting 27 hwy and 22 in town.

Over the cars I've driven or woned many vehicles. None I would give second thoughts about, except this one. I bought the Fusion for its reported reliability and styling. After driving it only 4000 miles I see its other side. The seats are very tight and uncomfortable. I am sure that I could not tolerate a long trip as I am already suffering a sore back. Its also dog slow out the on ramp. Give yourself time to build up speed. Hard to see out of the back window when backing up. Great looking car. Gas mileage is what it should be. Just wish I had my Volvo back.

I purchased an 08 sel of aug 2011 with 94k miles, its been a great car, fun to drive which was a must for me. This was my first car and i had to have something fun to drive and good gas mileage, I got the 2.3 4cyl it feels a bit underpowered compared to the altima but its gas mileage is worth it. I have never seen less then 23mpg and i have a lead foot, the highest was 35mpg on a backroad with lots of hills but would get 32mpg on hwy w/o ac on. So if you can handle warm weather just riding with the windows down you will get good mileage. I really like the sync system so i can hook up my phone and and not have to have cds everywhere, but sometimes its complicated. It handle very well for something like this and have a good ride all in one especially from ford. My mom was even impressed with it and she drives an infiniti m35x shes thinking about a 2012 model, and shes a diehard nissan person. this car seems like it will be very reliable because Ive seen some with 200kon the clock. Also the trunk is HUGE biggest in class. If i was to do it over I would go for a v6 but the passing power is fine for the car it almost drives like a honda, but Plan on keep ing it for atlest 150k.

This car has exceeded my expectations and is most definately the best car I have owned so far. It is so comfortable, great stereo, excellent excelleration,good gas milage and fun to drive.

I was reluctant when my wife wanted to buy the Fusion after having driven Towncars since 1992. I just thought there was no other car out there besides the towncar, which proved to be reliable. My wife wanted a change and always wanted a vehicle with the shifter on the floor. She fell in love with the looks of the Fusion SEL. It had a lot of the same features the Towncar had and she said it felt like she was driving a sports car. Since it was going to be her car and the price was really great I agreed. After driving it myself I fell in love with it quick. The performance and handling is the best. Ride is a little stiffer then the Towncar but trying to compare these two isn't fair to the Fusion, but within its class I felt it compared above some of the much higher priced cars. After 3 years of driving and 60,000 miles I still feel the same about the car, not a problem to speak of, only a battery replacement and recent tire replacement. It has never had to go in for anything. Very well built car and I feel was one of Fords Best kept secrets until we made the purchase. Fun to drive!!! Before this purchase I personally drove my Pickup Truck. Now my wife and I fight over who is going to drive the car. People have told us,"you took a step down this time" Well if ever they test drove the Fusion they would realize the quality of this car and have a total different view on it. I had to give it a 5 star rating, not a thing I found I would change in the model we bought. Hope they keep this model around. Surely will buy another.
