Huge dissappointment
I was determined to give American cars a chance this time. I was very excited to see and hear such good things about ford cars, particularly the fusion. I drove 10 different midsized sedans "fully loaded" top of the line models. To my shock, this Ford was lower than most. Now, if you don't compare it to what is out there, it may seem a good car and price. But once you compare it to the others, not even close. Ride was not as smooth, acceleration was sluggish and not as responsive. Inside materials are still subpar. After all the years of cheap plastic i'd had hoped that was gone! It was also the highest price! Why can we not make a car better than Asian companies! This was however better than the german rides for the price. The top cars in my opinion shocked me. They were the Sonata Turbo and Kia SX. Better than the Camry, Accord, altima and Mazda 6. Those were all nice but I could not believe after looking at all these, the Korean cars were the best. Not just by a little either. Almost every aspect you could judge a car from. Only the 6 had better interior design but I didn't like the outside. I'd even choose these over a comprable sized infinity or lexus if they were the same price if you took out resale value. they are just better cars. Better gas mileage, features, warranty. With that said, Ford has come a long way, just hasn't arrived yet. It is promising for the future though if this year over year improvement continues.

23,000 mile review
I bought a fully loaded Hybrid Fusion in 2008 and have put 24K miles on it thus far. My drive is a short 6 mile commute from North Jersey to NYC, but often takes 45 minutes or more due to traffic. Despite the horrible roads and potholes, the Hybrid Fusion drives like a charm. The reliability has been the best of any car that I have had, with no problems over the past 1 1/2 years. Only routine maintenance was needed. The car looks good to all my friends and colleagues even 2 years later. I hope Ford continues to make the cars that people want!

Excellent
I've had the car only 3 months so don't know the true reliability over time, but seems to be well built so I have good expectations. Ford seems to be providing good reliability over their entire fleet. Great features for the money. Sync is worth every penny. Navigation is spot on every time.

Unpredictable
When I first got my 2010 Fusion, I was in love with it. However, I've had a continuing problem with the transmission. It was recalled by the company, and "fixed". But the transmission still slips intermittently, usually when I most need it. It's left me "hanging" in the passing lane; slips between gears and won't respond. Because it's intermittent, it's hard for the dealership to find the problem. Yesterday this happened again, and shortly after, the steering started squeeling whenever I turned the wheel. This will be the 4th time I've had to bring it to the dealership.

Fusion for sure
I had the opportunity to rent a Fusion while I was working in Central California. I needed to commute about 100 miles from the hotel to my work place. The fusion handled great in the mountains, pick up as well as stopping performance was way beyond my expectations. I bought a 2011 Fusion for myself a month later and within 3 months have already put 8000 miles on it. I love it. Go buy one

A lot for the money
Bought a fusion sport about 2 weeks ago for my wife. The quality and the driving experience feels like a car that should be in the $40,000 range.I drive a 2009 mercedes c-350 and it is as good or better than my benz.My father in law has a 2006 fusion with 105,000 miles and has never had a problem with it other than general main..Only complaint is the fan blower switch is too low.Love this car.

Sold on Fusion SEL
Ok, I'll admit, I've only had the Ford Fusion SEL for 24 hours and driven only 150 miles. However, I unexpectedly am in love with this car. The handling is tight and responsive--very fun to drive. It has a weight to it that makes you feel safe and in control. The features that come with it are amazing. You get a lot for your money especially if you negotiate effectively. I've driven a lot of cars and can't imagine anything else now that I have a Fusion. It's also worth the upgrade to SEL. I'm guessing at reliability based on reviews from others who test cars. My Mercury Sable 2002 has been very reliable with now 150,000 miles. If you are looking for a new car, at least test drive this one.

Good buy
I have only had the Fusion for a couple of weeks but am very impressed with the safety features, such as the back-up camera and the blind spot warning on the side mirror. The seats are very comfortable for me and I am already using the seat warmer. The only negative I have noted is the side pockets on the doors are very short and don't hold very much.

Fords Best
Drove the Lincoln MKZ,it has the same exact engine as the Fusion Sport that I bought. I thought the MKZ was snappy. The Fusion was noticeably faster! Interior was laid out very nicely,if I had to say one thing that I didn't like it would be the bottom buttons for the temp control was a little low,but I'm sure I'll push buttons without looking after a while. The interior space was the same size as the MKZ,but when I sat in the back seat my head rubbed the ceiling,in the Fusion it didn't. Trunk space was hugh. I can see why the Fusion was rated best car of the year! If you're looking for a new Ford,at least test drive one!
