reliability concerns

bought new 2019 with 50 miles, 2 days later AC stops working, Dealership promised they found and repaired the leaking AC valve, 3 days later AC stops working again. Dealership & Ford are puzzled looking for the needle in the haystack. Dealer is replacing the coil hoping it's the reason for the AC leak. Three weeks of ownership and it's been in the shop longer than in my driveway!

Excellent Ranger

So far the Ranger is meeting all my expectations. It is a very comfortable ride with plenty of room in cabin especially like all the new features it has

new 2019, 2 days later AC goes out

I waited 16 years to buy new truck, decided on a brand new 2019 Ranger with 43 miles, 2 days later AC stops working, dealership and FMC have no idea what's going on or how to fix it after 4 days in the shop. Many apologizes, no results :(

Very stylish dependable vehicle

This truck meets all of my current needs. Plenty of room, good gas mileage, and plenty of horse power for when I'm wanting to pull 4 wheelers places. Great pickup.

Great upgrade from my 2001 Ranger

Bought my Ranger XL STX with the towing package and tonneau cover and drove it home 300 miles away. Really enjoyed all the new features, especially the cruise control. I am still getting used to the backup camera, Sync features, etc, but all seem to be pretty easy to figure out and use. My last Ranger was 2001 (which I still have) and a spacecab w/ basic features. Nothing added except a/c and radio and 5 speed manual. Not even power windows or cruise control. Has 217K miles and still going strong w/ regular maintenance. I expect (hope) that this one will do the same. I have added tinted windows, side steps and had the bed painted to the 2019 Ranger. Not really crazy about the Bridgestone tires as I don't trust Bridgestone or Firestone but I will replace them later. I have compared it to my wife's 2015 Toyota Tacoma and there is no comparison. My new Ranger is tops on all features whether it is the mileage, comfort, ease of use for electronics, VERY COLD A/C, cruise control that doesn't slam the pedal down when going up a hill, etc. The 10 speed transmission and the 2.3 turbo-charged engine work very well together. There is a "S" for using the transmission as "standard" with + / - on the L side of the shift stick but I tried it and felt it was stupid pressing a button to shift up or down. So I am not using it. The only down side for her is that she does not like getting into the new Ranger as it sits up very high - I bought the side steps, remember. My nephew bought a 2019 Toyota Tacoma and again, there is no comparison with the Ranger as it comes out on top again in all categories. The only unknown is reliability. But if it is anything like my 2001 Ranger, it will be great too.

Impressive for mid sized pickup

Previously owned 2015 and 2017 Ford F-150 Lariats. Both were excellent trucks. Decided to downsize. Looked at Ford Ranger ,Tacoma, Ridgeline and GMC products. Obtained best price on Ranger XLT with sports and technology packages. Currently have 400 miles on this truck. Seats very comfortable , great pickup and absolutely love the safety and technology features. Bottom line thought I would miss my full size loaded F150 but I don’t. Ranger also has a great turning radius, fits in the garage and my wife is comfortable driving it.

Good daily driver, but little things need work

Replaced a small sedan with a loaded 4x2 Lariat and wanted all the bells and whistles. For the most part, very pleased. Very comfortable to drive and the turbo provides a surprising acceleration kick. First few fillups show around 23 mph. Annoyances first came when putting a tonneau cover on. The way the bed is constructed, cannot seal the corners of the truck without relatively large gaps to leak. Perhaps the factory ford cover would fit tighter, but prefer the loks of aftermarket covers. The center console controls are not backlit (fancontrol, defroster, A/C controls etc). Very frustrating in the dark. Don't want to spend a lot of heads down time scrolling through the nav screen to find the contrl I could see when a simple button push would fix it. The more I drive it (only 1 month old), the more annoying ithat lack of lighting becomes. The lack of storage space under the back seat is something else to get used to. Instead of a large open space like the F150, this is the equivelant of 2 small glove boes. Not sure what is taking up all the extra space, but could see that when we bought it. Two USB chargers and two 12V chargers in front, so lots of electronic connections. Overall, very pleased with the truck, curious if those items will be addressed in the 2020 model.

Newest vehicle in our household

This was an intentional "down-sizing" from an F-150 FX4 to the new Ranger FX4 and it is smaller. Ford has done an impressive job in the redesign and enlarging of the "Ranger", they have included many wonderful and useful features! This will be a learning experience as to everything this vehicle is both capable and set up to do!
