Great Car, Should have been marketed more

The Flex may have made this car expendable, but Ford did a disservice to itself by failing to market this car. Once they added the new engine upgrade from the Freestyle, this car was a winner. I have to admit, the styling is bland, but the interior is very nice. It drives well in all conditions (Winter weather in Wisconsin). It has plenty of room and is very comfortable. I really love it.

Four Ford Family

I like my X, my problem is the two back doors sound like they are not insulated, have a tin can sound; the dealer told me this was characteristic even as the Freestyle, I would appreciate feedback

Excellent Vehicle

We have now owned our 08 T-rex for 3 months. It was a CPO vehicle that was registered as Ford program vehicle (i.e. someone at Ford Motor Company drove the car for a year). We received the FoMoCo vehicle release paperwork, so we know the maintenance was properly performed. To date the car drives, looks, and performs flawlessly. I have been a Asian car buyer for many yeasr seince my experience with Jeeps in late 90's. So I was skeptical, but a friend of has a 07 Freestyle and my wife really liked the versatility without having to drive a minivan, or be sticker shocked by a Highlander or Pilot. This car replaced an excellent '05 Murano, but I have to say my wife loves this car, and it really does drive better than the Murano. With nearly 20K on the odometer, the car is rock solid over all surfaces. It has that solid expensive German/Asian car fell when it drives and when you slam the doors. The power of the new V6 and the 6 speed trans really make it a total different car than the freestyle, even how the engine is mounted to the chassis rather than the sitting on top of the suspension, just give this car a totally different feel that the freestyle. Ford really has a winner here, it is too bad they were to blind to market it properly and then cme out with teh Flex, which although I kind of like, my wife hates and on the road they relly look kind of out of place. One thing I have noticed in my area is how quick these cars are moving off the used lot. My Eddie AWD had an MSRP of 34,500, we paid cash for it with 19K miles, only $19,000, and I added the 6 year/100K bumper to bumper warranty for a little less than $1,000. A 35K car with every imaginable bell and whistle, 5 star crash, airbags galore, top safety by IIHS, true 7 passenger seating, electronic stability, and a rock solid driving feeling; oh and I get 24+mpg on hiway cruises at 75+mph with crusie control on. I really don't know what else I can say about this car, other than great!

fun vehicle to drive

We have enjoyed this vehicle very much. We have had mini vans in the past and wanted a vehicle with a little different look with 7 seats available. This far exceeds our expectations.

Love my Taurus X

I'm a German car freak, but I've completely enjoyed my Taurus X. It's comfortable for my family of four, has as much space as my old mini-van yet still feels like driving a car.

Best car we've ever bought

We got our 08 Taurus X about 8 months ago and my wife loves it. With two kids its the perfect family car. All the safety ratings I have read for this car are great, plus it has a ton of room inside. For the size of the car its hard to belive it gets such good MPG. And the new 3.5 liter engine has 263 HP. To me thats unreal, to have a car this size with that much power and still get around 23 MPG for us in our every day driving. On a flat open road with no head wind we got 27 MPG for over 40 miles once. At least that what the trip meter was saying. I would recommend this car to any hard working family such as mine that need a great car at a afordable price. The money we save on gas is one of the best things to me.

Very Good Company Car

I've had the X since the first of the year. I have the Limited Model with 4 captain chair seats and larger engine and a bunch of options. Wish I had the nav system instead of the dvd player. performance is good. I cruise at 80 and it is very smooth and quiet. Nice interior features, but fit and quality is not good - reminds me of 60/70 vintage Chrysler stuff around the dash. Sound system is superior. Cost $50 for the ipod patch cord into the Sync system. This is a very good car. It's a tremendous value. Ford hit a home run if the reliability proves out. The X is good proof the Volvo - Ford marriage is working.

The best buy for your money

Ford has done a superb job with Taurus X. My wife drives it every day to work with 50%/50% city/highway and she averages about 22 MPG. It is safe, convenient and offers the best value in its class.
