Most Reliable Car I've Owned

I love my 2008 Acadia. It's very comfortable, nice interior and exterior looks great! Acadia is perfect for a big family, my three kids love it. As a young mom, I don't like vans, but with a three kids I really need a big car, my Acadia is just perfect. I love it!!!

Great car with a few quirks

I'll start with the good. I love the look of my 2008 Acadia. Even after 2 1/2 years I'll catch a glimpse of it and think, "What an awesome, stylish car." My Acadia is so roomy and very comfortable. My husband drove Yukons for a number of years, and the interior space offered is comparable. I haven't had any major service problems. The gas mileage is pretty much what I expected - averaging about 18-19, with somewhat less if I am not driving on the freeway. The not-so-good features. It is VERY sluggish in the lower gears when trying to accelerate. I always fill it up with mid-grade gas which helps only slightly. I hope that GMC has corrected this problem on later models. The other problem that I've experienced is the lack of rear traction in rainy weather. There is a lot of shimmying and slipping, especially when turning. I should have gotten the AWD model.

One of the best.

Like the name says, my wife and I are car snobs. Between the 2 of us we've had 12 cars over our 15 years of marriage. Always looking for something better, more convenient, bigger... My wife finally found it with this car. Everything a family could want and we've had a bunch of family cars, including an explorer, an Acura MDX, a couple of mini-vans and a Grand Cherokee. Power galore, room for 8 ADULTS or 5 adults and a TON of cargo.

My Perfect Car

It rides great. I have the cloth seats, don't need leather! It has 3 rows for our carpool and adults can easily sit in very back row. It has my ipod connection with great sound system. I've never had any problems with it whatsoever 2 years now. We take it in the mountains and all over the city. LOVE IT.

From Suburbans to Acadia

No kids any more. Needed to switch, Good Pick. Lease is up, going to get another one. Some leaking from the sunroof but they fixed it. My favorite is a Suburban for on the road, but the Acadia drives just as well just a little smaller. Way better on gas. Got 28 on the hwy at 70 mph. from NY to MN.

Awesome family vehicle

We bought this in place of our 2006 Buick Rendezvous. My wife was not really looking to move up but I really wanted something with more room behind the 3rd row. I did alot of research between the available vehicles that seat 8. The van was automatically out, due to my wife will never drive one. So I was looking into the Tahoe, but that was to high priced. The Suburban was to large, so I was lead to these so called cross over vehicles. I live in N.E. WI but don't see a need for four wheel drive, front wheel drive is good enough. I compared the Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia, & Buick Enclave. The Outlook was nice and the space between the 3rd row is the same on all these vehicles, but the Outlook just didn't seem as weel put together interior wise as the others. The Enclave was a little more quiet and had more fancy features than the others, but at a bit higher price. Over all the Acadia was the best for us. The ride is great, interior is good, and gas milage is averaging about 24 - 26 MPG overall HWY and city. We added a after market DVD and bought the entry level SLT model. Would totally recommed this vehicle to anyone.

Great Crossover

After test driving similar crossovers from other makers this one won out. The rear camera is a great bonus for backing up in tight areas.

overall good buy

I have had my Acadia for over a year now. I am realy satisfied with it. The only complaint I have is the 6 speed transmission does a lot of shifting when driving in hilly country. It shifts down to 4 then up to 5 and to 6, then if your still not to the top it will do the whole thing again. Most times I just lock it in 5 until I get to the top.
