Everything I Expected

I needed an eight passenger automobile and was tired of minivans. I have two sons that play travel hockey and need all the room I can get. We recently drove it on a 800 mile vacation, with seven people and loads of luggage and got 22 MPG! Everyone was very comfortable and the 10 speaker Bose sound system was excellent...to say nothing of the Onstar directions and XM Radio. The seats are comfortable, the gauges easily viewed both day and night. Our Acadia has the sunroof and back sheet moonroof and this has proven to be a nice feature. While the vehicle was nearly loaded, one thing I did not get was the rear-backup camera. I wisk I had, as it is so big and sometimes hard to see behind you. Overall, GM finally hit one out of the park with this one....great vehicle. Here's hoping, it maintains the performance and reliability of some of the foreign cars.

Worst GM Vehicle I have ever owned

This vehicle is over priced and under powered. I now have 18K on my 2008 Acadia and it has had a rebuilt engine, several transmission upgrades (software), window leaks, Noise issues, poor build quality. The Acadia has a major problem with hesitation under acceleration and the dealer and GM have stated that is by design for fuel savings. Effectively it is a safety hazard when you press the gas pedal and the car will not go. Another issue is fuel economy. I average 16 mpg with a combo of highway and city driving. The best mileage I have gotten so far is 19.6 mpg on a 3 hr trip to the beach. My recommendation: Look elsewhere. This vehicle looks good and has a fantastic interior but the severely underpowered, poorly built GM product is over priced and not reliable. With mileage like this you would be better served with a Tahoe or Yukon which get aproximately the same fuel mileage and are much better built.

Best Choice for Families

With plenty of room and a great look, I am very pleased with my choice. I looked at all 3 row seating SUVs and CUVs, and the Acadia is by far the best choice for the money.

Comfortable and Reliable

With over 8,500 miles on it in only 3 months, i have spent enough time in the Acadia to know it is the best CUV on the market. The ride is comfortable and the features are great for the kids on the longer trips. Fuel economy is awesome at 18 city and 24 hwy!!! GM did great by me on this one. All my neighbors want one too, look out Toyota.

Worst GM vehicle I've Owned

I have owned a GM vehicle since 1969. I have driven this one for 11 months ( 13,000 miles)This by far is the worst for Performance, Mileage, and Transmission shifting. I have a 2008 with AWD. THe sticker said 16-23MPG I'm getting 13.5 to 14.5MPG country. Dealer tells me this is average for AWD why not tell me this before I buy. I was getting better mileage on my2005 avalanche 4wd. The shifting is terrible the Dealer says This IS Normal. The trans at times will slip 2-300 rpms between shifts Again This IS within spec for the torque converter. I have a klunk every startup when I take off guess what there's a bulletin on this, Anti-Lock relay reset THIS IS NORMAL. Nice looking Nice ride BUT I'm dumping this and buying a TOYOTA!!!!

Not Impressed

I was trying out this car to replace my 1999 minivan. I was impressed by the style and amenities but after a test drive I was disappointed. It didn't have the same power. I really didn't want to fuss w/the "can switch it on the fly to standard for more power" For 37+K it should have the power already. Sad because its sooo cute.

Great Vehicle, But--

Great vehicle but the first time it rained the amplifier for the radio/DVD player quit and when the ignition is turned off it makes a very load thump! Thought it was a fluke but did it again today when it rained. Have not taken it to the dealer yet but will the next time it rains.

Excellent Product

We traded in a Jeep Liberty for the Acadia and WOW what a change! The seats are very comfortable, all of the controls are easy to use and access from the driver seat. I love all of the extra storage compartments and the center consule is by far my favorite thing. We are getting 18.5 mpg in town back and forth to work I couldn't believe it is getting that good of mileage in town. If your looking at one you need to go and test drive one you will not be disapointed I promise you that. We have 26,000 miles and haven't had a single problem with it we couldn't be more satisfied. These are the kind of vehicles that will keep GM on top of the heap!

Great car...if built by Toyota!

Spacious, comfortable, "real" third row seat. But it has spent more time getting repaired in 7 months than in 12 years of owning lexus. Has had water leaks, rear door problems, traction control, stabilitrak, brake pedal, dvd...
