Great first used car

Bought this car for my college bound daughter who needed something inexpensive but reliable & comfortable. This car was all that. We got a very good deal & the previous owner took very good care of the car. Had low mileage for being 13 yrs old at the time of purchase.

Test Drive "AWESOME"

I did have a test drive in this car and it was awesome. I asked the seller to try and save for me until I file my taxes. I have been looking for a 1997 SE for a long time and I have finally found a good one. Only a true Honda lover would appreciate. Car has been well taken care of.

Look for 1998 or newer

I previously owned a 97 Honda Accord, it was stolen. I loved the car for multiple reasons 1) great fuel economy 2) handled well 3) spacious interior 4) exterior held up to winters with salt on roads 5) good trunk space 6) overall great value for the money. Now the negatives 1) it is easy to break into unfortunately 2) the keys only started being chipped in 1998 so it can be stolen more easily. If you are interested in an Accord go for a 1998 or newer.

Great Car for the Money

I bought my 97 Accord in 2002 with 70,000 miles. Now, 8 years later, it has 150,000 miles and is still going strong. I've owned 10 different vehicles over the years and this one is the best value for the money by far. Only things replaced were a timing belt right away as a preventative measure (zero clearance valves), tires, and just lately a muffler. Mine is a no frills Accord with crank windows and no power locks so some of the cheaper plastic mirror adjust knobs and heater fan knobs have cracked and need to be replaced. For what I paid originally for my Accord minus what it's worth today divided by the miles I've driven this car costs me less than $0.05/mile which is outstanding!

Best car I have ever owned

If Honda keeps making them like the 1997 Accord I had they will always be the best vechicle around. I can't say enough about this wonderful automobile.

Very Reliable and Cheap to Fix

I own a 1997 Honda Accord Special Edition. I bought the car about 7 months ago with 148,000 miles on it for $2600 dollars and it has been well worth its money. I replaced the timing belt and water pump out of caution/paranoia(you usually want to if you dont know whether the person who owned it ever has) and the mechanic recommended I replace the valve cover and that has been it! The car is in amazing shape. It drives great. I've taken it on 7 road trips of 4 hours or longer and it has never had any issue at all. I commute very often for modeling work in LA and San Fransisco and I would be screwed if I'd bought the car I'd originally wanted: A VW Beetle. This car is a VERY smart buy as a used car for a first car owner and ALL of the parts are cheap to get. It looks great, drives quietly, handles well, and has tons of space for friends and for stuff! Only issue I have is my windows roll up and down realllllly slow, haha. Thats it though. BUY THIS CAR. I was terrified to purchase my first car but I'm sooo glad I went with a car that I needed and not a car that I just wanted. :)

so far so... great.

Had the car for 2 months. Gas mileage is exceptional. I get about 29 mpgs. It is the accord coupe. Looks wise is pretty good. Good power and acceleration. Only thing I don't like inside is the leather interior, but thats just preference.

1997-this ACTUAL ONE

I was given this ACTUAL 1997 Accord Coupe as a car to ride in yesterday until I decided on the vehicle I wanted to purchase as a courtesy from VW, and I must say I'm really considering this one!! Very NICE handling, and it's quick for a 4 cylinder. I've let the vehicle sit and idle for 30 mins. both yesterday and today as I will everyday until Saturday when I have to make up my mind and no check engine lights came on, no engine problems likely. Never owned a Honda before, but for a 12 year old vehicle, I might purchase this one...If I chose not to whom ever gets it will be surely satisfied, plus nice stereo system too. It's a JVC with 200w!

260,000+ miles and running great!

I've owned my 1997 Honda Accord for nine years. It runs no differently than the day I started it on the lot at 61,000 miles. Other than Honda's recommended servicing at 100,00 miles, Ive only done tires, brakes, and oil changes to this car. Anybody considering a higher mileage Accord need not worry, these engines and drives are well designed. My Accord is a standard shift and as far as performance even at this mileage, it will still top over 120mph easily! The average miles per gallon overall has stayed right around 32.7 (I check it often)... So, I'm looking forward to taking a picture of the odometer at 300,000 also!
