great vehicle!

I bought my 5 speed manual Civic DX new in 2002. It has been a great vehicle. I don't know why anyone wouldn't recommend it. I do my own maintenance which is a breeze. I have almost 90k with no problems other than wear and tear items (tires, battery, windshield wipers). It still has original brakes, bulbs, etc. Much better than the two previous Chevys I had. Only thing is I tilt the seat back slightly because I'm 6'5" and its more comfortable to me. And I replaced the factory stereo with a Kenwood unit. But at 38-40+ mpg. it can't be beat!

A bit disappointing.

Bought the 02' Si new after it was first released. Traded in my 2000 Si thinking this would be the better machine. First, handling in the 02' was not as good as past Civics. My biggest complaint was with the lack luster electric power steering. Having driven old school Hondas I was expecting a more precise and predictable steering response, not the case here. Power was just OK. On par with older Civics, nothing outstanding. The 2.4L got the job done, but wasn't very exciting. It also lacked that exciting VTEC scream past 5,000 rpms. Styling was attractive at first, but I quickly grew tired of it. Fuel economy was about average for the class, but on the good side, no need to use premium. The one thing about this car that I really liked was the interior. The seats were great. I loved the black with red stitching. Never had any mechanical issues with the car accept for a strut bearing.

PERFECTION!

What more could a person ask for in a car? A 2002 Civic EX is the BANG for the buck! Perfect MPG, all around good performance, comfort is great. Its not too simple yet not to complicated like most newer models of other cars such as a 2010 bmw or audi. I would recommend this car to a friend! Most definetely. On average i get 35 city and 40+ highway and this isnt even a HYBRID!

EX coupe 5-speed Best third car!

this was my third car purchase and was not new, but new to me. I have the EX coupe, and i love my car! it handles amazingly and zips me wherever I need to get. I have a 40 mile round-trip drive to work, and I get about 36-38MPG; its wonderful. It had three previous owners, and has some dints and dings and interior wear and tear, but nothing that I wouldnt expect. I have had no maintenance problems, and it drives like a beaut. I would recommend the manual, definently gives a little more needed pick-up when you can down shift. Not the fastest car, but keeps up with the rest. I also reccomend replacing the factory stereo with a newer head unit, much improves the sound. A little bumpy on dips and pot-holes, but its low. over-all, I love my little car!

Best Hatchback ever

I've had Honda Hatchbacks for 20 years and the Civic SI is the best ever . Why they've stopped making them is a puzzlement to me. The Fit has four doors but no styling. I'm over 96,000 and no problems ever. Hate to part with it.

Another wonderful investment

I wouldn't know what I would have done if I bought the other car. This car was a great purchase I feel safe. It proforms nicely, while being good on gas. Looks good and All over a wonderful investment.

Honda's reputation Overrated

I bought a Honda based on its reputation for durability. My transmission went out at a 108,000 miles. My American vehicle's transmission has lasted longer. I have a 1990 Volvo with 225,000 miles that still has the original transmission. I am very disappointed in Honda. Now I wish I had bought the Toyota. I know the transmission would have lasted longer. When I called Honda of America, their response was "What do you want us to do?" and "We cannot say how long a transmission will last."

2002 Civic Si

One of the best values for the money. The Civic Si is probaby the best choice for anyone looking for a good mixture of performance, comfort, and reliability, while keeping the price tag down. There is a tremendous amount of space in the car, and it seats 5 people without a problem. The trunk is very spacious and will hold almost anything, and if not you can flip the rear seats down to make more room. The car itself has never failed me once (except one time when i ran out of gas) and the engine will keep running forever. The Si comes stock with suede seats and a very nice interior trim. If you plan on customizing, this is definetly your car as there is an abundance of aftermarket parts. It handles great in any weather including snow. My only gripe about the car is that its front wheel drive which does not suit my needs, but as for the average driver, absolutely excellent car.

Honda Civic is great deal for $

This 2002 Honda Civic is a fun car to drive. It is perfect for city life- small for parking, excellent on gas. Also, earns amazing high way mileage. Very easy to shift gears. A new driver to stick would have no problem learning on this car. The fold down seats are a great feature for moving around larger items. The Pioneer CD Stereo enhances the sound quality. The tinted windows make the vehicle look slick. I would recommend this 2002 Honda Civic LX to a wide variety of people and their lifestyles.
