Great Car

Rides well. Tows my motorcycle trailer beautifully. Only 4000 miles so far, but perfectly reliable with no delivered factory defects. Great fuel economy - averaging 27 around town.

Lovin it

I have been very happy with my new car. Already using the heated seats. Have a free subscription for a few months for XM radio and surprisingly am really enjoying it. Smooth ride. Only regret is regular radio is not the type that shows the song playing and miss that (and didn't check about it before buying). Have had no mechanical or even cosmetic issues, which sometimes with a new car, something is always off, but not with this one. Cover in the back is very cool. LIke that it shows mpg you are getting (so don't have to manually figure it out anymore) and when oil is really due to be changed as opposed to depending just on mileage.

Most comfortable SUV I've owned

The Honda CRV wins hands down for comfort, reliability, cargo space, and provides a smooth ride. Before buying I did my research, tested many SUV's and for the compact SUV's the Honda CRV was the best quality for the price. The Interior is my favorite quality of the vehicle. It is very comfortable with easy and convent controls in reach. The ride is very smooth with good pick for a V4 engine. The only other major player in my research was the Rav 4. Specifically because it had the V6 upgrade and was fun to drive. But when it came down to it, I would rather ride in comfort then have the V6. The Rav 4 felt cheap on the interior and the seats where smaller and less comfortable. I would recommend the CRV to my family and friends and am very happy with my purchase. (Also the CRV holds its value very well on resale.- another thing to keep in mind when buying)

Best midsize suv we tested

This Was the best overall suv we test drove, for my personal taste the leather seats could be more comfortable and could use a some more horse power.

TOYOTA RAV4 v HONDA CRV Reader review of the week

I have a new CRV., and chose it against seemingly most other SUV's available in the UK., because I have a fear that I might one day be in a pile-up and be unable to exit through the driver's door because it is either jammed, or there are other stationary vehicles etc., against it - even worse if fire is starting nearby. Compared with the competition, which usually have large and insurmountable central consoles between the front seats, the CRV., has a flat floor, which allows the driver or front seat passenger to relatively easily climb across the car to escape. This safety detail for me, over-ruled any other shortcoming (s) over the competition!

Love it, but mileage in the city is just average

It is simply difficult to get such a combination of features and reliability for the price. I have had the CRV 4WD EX-L (without navigation) for 6 months and could not be happier. Previously, I had experience with several different cars through a carsharing service (other Hondas, Mazda 3s, Ford Escapes, Volvo S40s, Toyota Takomas, and BMW 3-series) and my in-laws' Toyota Corolla. However, the CRV is among the most pleasant vehicles I have driven (up there with the Volvo S60). The positives are that there are a number of little details that make life easy: cup holders everywhere (in the front and back doors, between the front seats, and in the compartment between the back seats), USB connection for my iPhone (or other MP3 player) in a separate compartment above the glove box, rear windshield wiper that comes on automatically when I have the front wipers on and put the car in reverse (I thought this was a defect until someone mentioned it in the owner's forum and I checked the manual), and dual climate control. With the cooler weather coming on, we have enjoyed the heated seats, too. There are just a few criticisms, but ones that apply to other vehicles as well. First off, fuel efficiency for real city driving--around very stop-and-go Washington, DC--is pretty bad. I get about 11.5 to 14.5 MPG (according to the CRVs dashboard). However, this is the same range that my friend's Nissan Armada gets, the same mileage I got from a Nissan Rogue I rented for work, and typical of the mileage I would get from the SUVs and trucks I would use in the carsharing service. When I drive in the suburbs, mileage is closer to 20 mpg. On the highway, I easily get to 28 MPG. The other criticism--really, just something to be aware of--is that the accelerator pedal response is more nuanced than other cars I've driven. The accelerator seems to respond differently based on how aggressively you attack the accelerator. If you push it slow but most of the way down, you get a slow response (which makes the car seem sluggish but probably helps fuel efficiency). However, the more aggressively you attack the gas pedal, the more aggressive the car's response. By comparison, on most other cars don't have as much variation in their responses. There is a slow response (when you are anywhere less than full throttle) and a fast response (flooring it). Once I learned that the CRV was capable of wider ranges in acceleration, I discovered how peppy the CRV really is. Another criticism, also applicable to any car with a light-colored leather interior, is that the seats show the grime (for lack of a better word) of every day use. It might have been good for Honda to offer a darker tan leather or gray. It just means that that the driver's and passenger's seats require regular cleaning. One last thing that might or might not be a finish issue: when the car was parked in covered parking lots in the hot DC summer, the bumper plastic popped out on two separate occasions. It could have been that another car hit our bumper to cause this, but there was no evidence of an impact, so I assumed it might be a defect in the part. However, I was able to pop it back into place, and it has not occurred again for many months. Finally, the urban titanium color we have seems to be easily stained by the propeller-type seed pods of certain oak trees. I park on the street, and one of these trees in front of my apartment shed its seeds on my car all through the late summer, so I had rust-colored stains spotting the car. I don't know if this is a problem unique to my car or color, but I have not noticed other cars with this problem. I was able to remove the spots with detailing clay, but I had to do it every week for a month. The cars.com review criticizes the read seat folding. I don't know what they're talking about. I have found the rear seats' ability to fold down in different configurations easy and useful. In short, I have been very happy with the CRV and I have recommended it to friends.

Best small SUV

Love this car. had a 2005 CRV before buying my new 2010 CRV EX AWD. Zero repairs on my 2005 when traded in after 6 years with 80,000 mi on it. The 2010 model is quieter than the old model. Solid steering, braking, suspension. Perfect in snowy weather. Been getting 30+ mpg on highway. Urban Titanium Metallic---great color. Shopped against the RAV 4, Forester & Outback. Went with the Honda because of superior reliability, lowest depreciation of any SUV, good looks and 5 star crash ratings. Perfect vehicle for everyday and commuting use here in Minneapolis.

Very nice SUV

We never owned a SUV. We are very happy. WE like the way the vehicle rides, plenty of leg room in the front and rear.

Good Value

I have owned several SUVs big & small. Honda CRV is a first. I'm impressed with the gas mileage. My previous small SUV got 19 mpg. I'm a city driver and I'm now getting 25 mpg..big improvement! Power is fair but I'm not a speed demon so it's really not a big issue. Very comfortable, easy for my dogs to get in and out of. I like the displays a lot. Good value for the price.
