Reliable, Stylish and best Value for the Money

I test drove nearly every small SUV and the Honda CR-V won out because of reliability and value for the money. I'm a little OCD on researching before I make important big purchases and the Honda was by far the best rated and most reliable small SUV on the market. It also helps that the car is very responsive and the interior is very comfortable with nice touches like the included I-Pod link/charger, satellite radio, moon-roof and leather seating (I own the EX-L). I'm very pleased with the MPG and I'm averaging about 26 to 27 MPG combined. The cons with the car are very few: I wish the car had more horsepower. I realize that for the category car, it has average/above average horsepower, but I'd like to see a V-6 option in the future. This is my first Honda purchase and I'm very happy with my decision. I would highly recommend the CR-V to any person looking to buy a small SUV.

Nice cross over, reliable, looks good, feels great

Bought the CR-V after much research and talking with owners of this vehicle. Runs awesome on both short and long trips. Took it up to the mountains for some skiing, the first month I purchased it. Handled A+ in 2 feet of snow up in New Hapmshire (4WD). All luggage and 2 kids fit well with room to roam. I will get a rack for the ski's for the next trip. Hope to get better MPG after "broken in", current MPG: 19 City, 25 HGWY, combined 22.9. Hopefully in the future this will be offered in a Hybrid.

Best in its class

Incredible handling. The engine upgrade for 2010 gives it a lot of zip. I really like the interior, well-laid out, attractive, especially for mostly hard plastic. Front seats, while not uncomfortable, are not exactly cushy, either. Also not a big fan of the exterior. It doesn't look like the sportiest car around, kinda clunky in back. Still, I think it's the best small SUV around. Liked both the Rav-4 and Equinox, but the CRV's interior and handling won out, though the Equinox's isn't bad either. Just wanted a small, practical SUV with a little pep, and this is it. Great car.

Sporty handling

This car replaced a mini-van which was a much larger vehicle than I really needed. My first impression with the CR-V was that it had much quicker steering than the van and it felt just about as peppy even though it only had a 4 cylinder engine. It is quiet on the highway and 28 MPG is not unreasonable to expect. My only complaint is that it could use a few more cubbies for storage and the ride is rough on all but smooth surfaces. Mine is a front wheel drive model and recent snow showed that it was very capable under those conditions probably due to the traction control and stability control, both standard features.

Love My CRV EX-L!

This car is so much fun to drive. I love sitting up high (I'm 5'2) and visibility is great. The steering is very responsive, especially on winding back roads. The front dash display is full of pertinent vehicle information. There is abundant storage and abundant power outlets (3) and cup holders (8.) Best of all is the USB port which seamlessly plays (and charges) my iPod. A great little personal vehicle.

I Love My CR-V!

My parents purchased their 2009 Honda CR-V mid-year and raved about it. They've always purchased Hondas, so I wasn't too surprised. When I came home for the Thanksgiving holiday, I asked to take it for a spin and was more than impressed that I bought mine a week later. I am 6 feet tall and having driven a Civic previously, the 2010 CR-V is very comfortable for me. All of the standard features are great and the optional package I got really allows me to enjoy my commute to and from work and for when I take my car out for leisure.

Poor ride totaly ruins everything good

Overly stiff suspension and road noise intrusion ruins everything good about this car. This car jolts over every little irregularity in the road, and takes all of the pleasure out of going anywhere. Its exhausting and even hurts, where other cars are pleasantly boring zooming along the highway, or off to the mall. It works well, but is a miserable experiance, and after a year driving it, I got my wife to pay for it, and gave it to my daughter. I'll take the bus to work, and the old Toyota to visit my mother.

My FIRST Honda ... and I LOVE it!!

This vehicle is perfect for my small family! I ordered the new Opal Sage Metallic Green (a unique subtle green) from the Honda dealership, and added the following "extras": Rear Spoiler, Splash Guards, Body Side Moldings with matching Door Guards, Fog Lights, and for the inside: Woodgrain Dashboard Kit and Day/Night Mirror. Crisp handling, adequate horsepower, all wheel drive, leather seating, and great mileage as well as high safety ratings equals a very happy owner ... ME. Be careful ... "turbo charged" models burn premium gas; while AWD Lincoln MKX and its twin, Ford Edge are very costly. General Motors Equinox and Terrain were too large for my needs. I also added new Michelin Tires (taller & wider) from Discount Tire, giving me an 80,000 mile warranty, whereas the tire warranty that came with the vehicle was zero. Today is December 10th and with less than (500) miles on this "head turner", I finally feel very contented with this new vehicle purchase.

Comfortable, economical, spacious, reliable

I bought this car to replace an Odyssey minivan. Was looking for something a bit smaller and easier to park as well as more fuel efficient. I first looked at a Mazda5 which was nice but a little underpowered and a bit claustrophobic for me. After checking out the Subaru Forester, the Nissan Rogue, and a Toyota RAV-4, I settled on the CR-V mainly for the way it drove. The steering is quick and precise, the transmission shifts up and down very smoothly, and the car handles curves like a sports car. For me it meant fun, fun, fun. I like the way you sit up high as in the Odyssey minivan. This translates into good visibility which adds to the safety factor. It's a comfortable interior but could use a couple more cubbys for storage. For example, the only place to store CD's is in the lower glovebox. The radio has great sound and the added bonus of speed sensitive volume control. The information display between the speedo and tach shows miles-to-empty, current mpg, average mpg, direction, temperature, fuel remaining, and engine temperature. Watching the instant mpg gauge enables you to squeeze out more gas mileage by showing the gas mileage you are getting right now. Then the display that shows average mpg lets you know how well you are progressing. I am not a lead-foot, however, when you put the pedal to the metal you will find that the transmission immediately shifts down and there is ample reserve power for routine passing. Remember, this engine puts out only 180 horsepower so it's no Camaro, but there is enough there to get the job done and possibly pick up a speeding ticket if you are not careful. So far I have been averaging almost 26 mpg and that is with 40-50% highway driving on each tankful. Some claim over 30 mpg on the highway but I suspect they aren't exceeding 50 and have a tailwind.
