Tuner Car
i absolutely love this car it's the most sporty car I've owned (I've owned Subaru STI's and Evo's) i have had it for a year and i have just finished installing a turbo kit.........I'm now at 372 horsepower and 344 ft/lb of torque......I'm running 11 second quarter miles. So fast it's crazy. If your not looking to tune this it's still the best buy right now for 2010.

Underrated Sports Car
I own the Genesis Coupe 2.0T Premium with the 6-speed manual, and I love this car. The turbo I4 is perky and peppy but lacks the gutsy punch of the V6. I test drove both engines, and I preferred the I4 as it came across as more nimble and spritely. I am an auto tuner, and, without mentioning specific product names, I will say that power and punch is pretty easy to extract from the I4 for those who would be interested. I have read reviews saying that the I4 engine is "buzzy" and "whiny"; my experience has been otherwise. Only at the highest RPM's does the engine noise become pronounced. Visibility behind the vehicle is a bit compromised; turning my head to see behind me while driving is a common necessity, similar to when I had my Tiburon. Interior quality is good but not up to the luxury standard Hyundai wants to portray. I have read where some owners of the I4 are only getting in the low 20's when it comes to mpg's; I drive about 25% city/75% highway, and I average 27-29mpg, and that is with a fair amount of pushing that turbocharger. Trunk space is good, back seats are just for decoration. The car's ECU is verrry protective of the engine. Word to the wise: driving up an incline in too high a gear and too low an RPM for too long and the ECU will kill the engine to prevent overboosting in the turbocharger. This car much prefers higher RPM's. The electronics turn a bit..."quirky" in cold weather. In winter cold, the cruise control would occasionally turn itself off, and the car once disarmed and rearmed its alarm as I stood by laughing that my car was possessed. I think, though, these are new car quirks. I've had the car almost a year with over 11,000 miles now driven, and those electronic oddities AND the notoriously notchy gearshifter are all chilling out with time. Overall, I'm very pleased with this car and would highly recommend it.

Genesis Coupe not for everyone - perfect for some
This car is the perfect car for a pretty narrow demographic, which is why I think I bought one. I researched for about a year and test drove about a dozen cars before I bought my Genesis Coupe. There is no status in over-paying, in my book. Most people who can afford a Lexus, Infinity, or Acura will buy one. Frankly, I could have. I'm into value, not status. And I just can't relate to BMW drivers - or else the turn signals just don't work on those things. And the roads are simply crawling with most "affordable" rear-wheel drive sport coupes, like Camaros and Mustangs. And the Challenger just didn't stack up. Plus, the dudes I've seen driving these, predominantly middle-aged like me, seem to be trying to recapture lost youth, with lots of facial hair and tattoos. Nothing wrong with that - just not me. So the Genesis Coupe really fits in a niche all its own, not really a luxury sports coupe (it is, after all, a Hyundai), and not part of the Americana retro design movement (styling that I think wears pretty thin pretty quick). I replaced the slanted H with the wing emblems - not because I'm ashamed that it's a Hyundai, but because I love it when people say, "Wow, that's a really nice car . . . what is it?" Like the Lexus driver who thought it was a Bentley. I've only seen two others on the road in the three months I've had it. Short story: this car is a blast to drive (3.6 litre is a bunch of motor), doesn't cost a ton of money, and gets a lot of attention. Of course, the gas mileage is, in fact, terrible. Another reason I bought it - some day The Man on my very far left is going to force me to buy an electric car that takes two minutes to go 0-60.

The most fun, head-turning car I've ever owned. Super solid, incredible handling, triptonic shifting is a blast.

SPORTY and FUN TO DRIVE
I have owned my 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe for a little over one month now. The car is really sporty and fun to drive. The 2.0 Turbo 4 cyl engine is very quick to respond and very impressive! I'm getting about 17-19 MPG in the city and 24-27 on the highway. I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase overall, however, there are a couple of things that Hyundai needs to improve on. The first being the easily to scratch interior door panels. The interior material on these door panels seem "cheap" and scuff very easy. The second problem is that there is almost no leg room for back seat passengers, especially if the front seats are all the way back. I love the power sunroof, cellular bluetooth, keyless ignition and Ipod auxillary jack. The sound system is acceptable but could be better in my opinion. I'm trying to get adjusted to the low, sporty ride. When the weather is cold outside, the low profile tires are rigid and when you first start driving, the vehicle has a really bad pull to the right. This is only temporary and goes away after the tires heat up. I have had the dealership check the alignment and all is well. This is my second Hyundai purchase in the last two years. I am quickly becoming a fan of Hyundai because of their GREAT warranty and reliability. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who is in the market for a fun, sporty 2 door coupe!

expected more
I realize that Hyundai is considered a value brand, I guess I expected more. I bought this based on the exterior looks alone, the test drive was ok, I should have test driven the car for allot longer. (i would recommend 50-100 miles) interior- well lets say this is the worst interior quality of any car I've owned. (I buy a new sub $17000 commuting car every year). I'm fine with the parts of the interior being plastic, but the assembly and durability after 1200 miles is awful. Performance... when the car runs correctly (rarely does) its just ok (I wanted better fuel milage so i purchased the 2.0 engine) I have not even work the car hard and i cant get more the 24.5 mpg (this if the first car i have own where I'm not within at least 1 MPG of the highway rating on the sticker, My daily drive is on back roads with no traffic for 80 miles to/from work) by the way my past 2 daily drivers were a ford fusion and a Mazda 3, both with a 2.3 engines... I think these performed better just because the Genesis coupe's turbo is so inconstant, they also got better gas milage. Value, compared to the 8 new cars I've purchased under 20,000 in the past i would say this model is way over prices and the model i bought shouldn't be more then 18,500 including delivery (i bought the genesis coupe 2.0 R)

I'm The Envy Of The Neighborhood
I'm 64, have white hair and wrinkles. But I refuse to accept being old. I walked into the dealer, saw the 2.0T with Premium package bought the car and drove it out. I love the handling, acceleration and sporty look, both inside and out. I've had everything from '68 442, to Trans Am and this is the best. Like Canada Girl, I need winter tires and they are expensive. But worth it. Only other complaint is the horn. They need a more robust sounding horn on such a stud muffin. Even my cat loves the car. Just the cat and I took a 3,000 mile road trip last summer and she traveled the best she ever has. The ride is great and I didn't get tired driving 10 to 12 hours at a stretch. I only use the back seat for packages and such so that is not a problem. This is my first Hyundai, but not my last. I love the gadgets and especially the blue tooth phone connection and the radio adjustment on the steering wheel. I have manual transmission and shifting is easy and smooth. If you don't want to accept old age, go out and buy a GC

Amazing
Ok so I'm a guy who at 42 yrs old, never had a desire to own a sportscar... So a month ago I went online and read all about the Hyundai Genesis Sedan so I went to my local dealer to check it out. Once there, saw the sharp styling of the Genesis Coupe, drove it and that was it...love as first Rev. It is an amazing car, LOVE it. It's beautiful both inside and out. I got it fully loaded so I really shouldnt have any complaints and I dont. As far as reliability, too early to tell but for certain I believe I got a ton of car for the price, it's just perfect and I cant wait till the next sunny day so I can drive it. I recommend to anyone looking for a second car just to enjoy for yourself... you cant go wrong with this car.

Best Looking Sports Coupe of 2010
The exterior and interior design is exceptional. Loads of tech toys, standard and comfort features make the coupe fun to drive. The seats are so comfortable with excellent support. I especially like the blue purplish lights in the dashboard. They are easy to see and look so cool at night. I'm a young female driver and performance is not my concern. I bought the 2.0T with premium package because I LOVE the car in the first sight. The Genesis Coupe has not disappointed me at all. The only complain is that I have to get winter tires for my GC (especially living in Canada), and the winter tires are so expensive (cheapest I found cost over $1500) >_< Anyways, that's my only complain and I absolutely love the car. In my opinion, the Genesis Coupe is the best sports coupe in 2010.

2010 Hyundai Geneis Coupe 3.8 Grand Touring Model
Wow! I'm also 62 and haven't driven anything that made me feel like this since my 68 Olds 442. In fact I do believe it would beat it. I too will probably buy the Sedan in five years or so but until then this coupe is perfect. In the seven years the wife and I owned our last car we used the back seat exactly 6 times. I don't think I'll miss a big back seat for a while. I've only had mine for a week now but can't say enough good things about it. About the only negative things I've found are that I wish the passenger seat was electronic like the driver's and the arm rest between the front seats is just a little too high for anyone under six feet, which includes my wife. Other that that I haven't been able to find a fault anywhere.
