The best Hyundai i owned so far.
The 2006 Sonata is of best values in the Automotive industry, the best feature the car is value and build quality of this vehicle. I remember Buying this car brand new 2 years ago in september. What attracted me to this car was the Aquamarine color and 17 inch alloy wheels and sunroof. The performance of the vehicle is very good and even though gas is high i still would want the V6 version over the 4 cylinder, once you get on the freeway the V6 is worth it price of admission to be honest the V6 only loses 2 mpg in real world driving. Inside the car i like the soft feel the Premium cloth seats, power driver's seat, the Mp3 Cdplayer for base stereo it is very good. After two years of ownership i give this car 99 out 100 for reliability. If you want resale value and reputation the sonata is not for you, if you wanna spend about 6,000 less after rebates the sonata is for you.

Most reliable car I have ever owned
We have had a number of Hyundai's and they have improved greatly over the years. This Sonata is the best I have had and I plan to buy a new one next year. It is reliable and survived a crash with a rogue deer, so much for Bambi. Now repaired it is better than ever. We love it.

I love my Sonata
I previously owned a 1996 Saturn SL2 and got around 33 mpg. I was wanting a bigger car with comparable gas mileage, and after much research, the Sonata (rated at 30-34 mpg highway) fit perfectly. I bought a used 2006 Sonata GL (4cyl). I originally fell in love with the styling of the 2005 Sonata, but I like the upgrades they made in 2006. I get around 29 mpg, which is a little less than I was expecting since 90% of my driving is highway and it's rated 30-34 mpg highway. But I guess 29 is still good. It looks so classy inside, I love the new style of the dash. I would definitely recommend it to a friend (and have!) and would buy another one after this one.

Only thing I would change is the cup holders
Other than the cup holders(accesabilty), I wouldn't change a thing. I absolutly love my car! It handles with no hesitation, stops on a dime, and I think it looks quite stylish. The trunk room is more than enough. If you sit in the back you have plenty on leg room. I will most definatly buy one again when the time comes.

the best money i ever spent
this is the best car ive ever had.it blows honda right out of the water.its like driving a benz but half the price.if your lookin at hondas they are the most over rated car.i test drove two of them the first one the trans went out while i was test driving it. the second one leaked a puddle of oil in my driveway.some of my friends gave me a hard time about buying a hyundai, but hey we all made fun of honda and toyota 20yrs ago.ive worked and been around cars my whole life, and the quality of car you get with the sonata is first class.

My First Hyundai
I bought a 2006 GLS V6 new in April of 06. After test driving an 06 Elantra GT I saw the new Sonata and took a test drive and was sold. I tried out and Accord but the new Camry was (and is) too ugly to be seen in. The Accord 4 cyl was the same price as the 6 cyl Sonata and didn't have all the standard features that the Hyundai has. Add in the 10 yr/100,000 mile powertrain, 5year/60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranties plus 5 years/Unlimited miles roadside assistance and the choice was easy! In the first month I had 2 problems. 1-The hood was misaligned and rattled. 2-After using the car twice that day I went to go out again and the tranny wouldn't engage reverse. Both were repaired under warranty, with the transmission being replaced. Fuel economy has been right on the money or better. I get 21-22 mpg around town and on the highway I've gotten as much as 32 mpg Use the cruise control and keep the speed under 65 helps. The lumbar support on the drivers seat is great! I never get a backache driving long distances. The V6 is smooth quiet and powerful. Sitting in the Sonata you CANNOT hear the engine run. The 2nd 5 speed manu-matic tranny (After the 1st one croaked) is quiet and on hard acceleration runs to redline before shifting. The ability to start off in 2nd gear aids in getting traction started on snowy surfaces aided by the standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with traction control. The only complaint is AM radio reception. It is almost non-existent. But the sound quality of the FM and CD player is great. After the 2 problems in the first month my Sonata has perfomed flawlessly. And with just over 36,000 miles the car is as solid, quiet and rattle free as the day I drove off the lot. Would I recommend the Sonata to people looking to buy a car? I already have, quite a number of times. It has exceeded all my expectations.

Best car i've ever owned!
I bought my 2006 Sonata-LX 6-cyl used with only 9,700 miles on it so it basically had just been broken in. It is powerful, came with all of the available features Sonata offers, and it looks great (I still look back at it in the parking lot when I walk towards a store 1-year after purchase!). I drive almost exclusively city miles and I consistantly get 19-21MPG so the 20 city the V-6 is supposed to get appears to be right on the money. The price on this car is awesome compared to the competition, but I really lucked out getting mine for only $15,330 (before tax & title and no trade-in) from a dealer in Feb 2007, even one year later the car's blue book value is more than what I paid for it....what a steal!! Even at full price you can't go wrong with this car and I would recommend getting the top model with all the toys and the V-6 (It was the LX in 2006, in 2007-2008 the LX would now be called the "Limited").

Great car if you can afford the gas
I've had the car from 27K to 40K, with no repairs needed. I love the power of the V6, but it comes at a price. Gas mileage is rated 30 highway and 20 city. I don't have a lead foot, and have gotten close to EPA estimates with my other cars (last being a 2001 Honda). In this vehicle (automatic transmission, all you can get with the V6) I get only about 25 mpg highway and 17 or 18 city. It's got tons of features for the money, and looks good, not to mention the 60K warranty (even when buying used) that far betters Honda's. Overall, I like it a lot - but I'd prefer the option of a manual transmission to increase mileage and driving fun.

HYUNDAI YOU GOT ME AGAIN
I have owned my Hyundai Sonata GLS Sport for 16 months now all i have to say it is one of the best cars on the market without the hefty price tag, at first i was not gonna buy a hyundai, A V6 at 4 cylinder japanese price was one of my decesions instead of getting the Camry Ce, which has no keyless entry, alloy wheels, or a sunroof at the same price. The car is one of the greatest decesions i have made.
