Nice car at a decent price

I love the car except the city mileage could be better, and the trans could shift more smoothly. I have the v6 engine.

Best Investment Ever!

I say this becuase I'm still young (21) and yet I don't look like a grandma driving this car. I wanted to go for a car that I could drive for years to come. I got what I wanted. Also, I was in a collision where I was hit by a Grand Vitara. My car came out okay, but the Grand Vitara was totaled. The safety features were outstanding! Lots of room. I turned down an offer for my parents to buy me a mustang, becuase I don't want to fight down the road with a childseat in the back. Also, I get awesome gas milage! I recommend this car to anyone looking for a great deal!

My First Car

My parents bought me a used low millage 2006 hyundai Sonata. I absolutly love the car and would not trade it in for anything. It has room for all my friends and plenty of room for my junk. I play softball and i am always on the dirt roads. It handles great on any ground. I love My car.

A great family sedan

There really aren't many comments to describe this car other than "GREAT", "PERFECT" and "AWESOME". I bought my 2006 GLS 4-cyl. on 10/11/05. It is one of the few Korean made Sonatas that were imported until the American plant was up and running. I had a Nissan Altima before this and must say I haven't looked back. I love this car. I have over 18,000 hard NY stop and go miles on it and it has performed great. Very cumfy ride unlike the Altima that pounds you. Very quiet, again unlike the Altima that you hear every vibration. The interior looks and feels like a luxury car, again unlike the Altima's cheap cost cutting interior. The only area the Altima was better was handling, but it wasn't that much better and the Sonata feels better when you drive it. The Sonata has a lot more safety features and also scored a lot better than the Altima in the crash tests. I also looked at the Accord (halfbaked) and the Camry (Grannymobile), but there was no comparison. The Sonata has been flawless, not one problem. Also, it's the little things that you get with this car that you don't on others, the gas strut that holds the hood up instead of the prop rod, the scissor hinges on the trunk lid that don't break packages, etc. You really feel like you're in an upscale car. If you think spending more for a lesser car like an Accord, Altima or Camry is better due to their reputation, then you would be making a big mistake. Go for the Sonata and you will be pleasantly surprised, not to mention you will have a few grand left over in your pocket. The only things I would recommend they change is to add a seek feature on the steering wheel radio controls and the fabric of the seats, it's kind of like a bath towel. Other than that this car is PERFECT.

BEST CAR FOR THE PRICE!

Sold my 02 C-class Mercedes Benz for a 06 LX Sonata and never looked back. The car is faster, bigger, better handling and best of all the price. The car cost 13K cheaper too. More people comment on my Sonata then my old car. I like the fact that the Sonata is a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Happy camper!

I test drove a V6 Accord; perfection. Old Russain saying: "Perfection is the enemy of good enough." The Sonata has far, far exceeded my expectations of "good enough." Quiet, goes where I point it, stops straight, acceptable mpg, safe, comfortable, good in the snow. 20K miles and it's the best car choice I've ever made.

Great buy

First of all My 2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS replaced a 2000 Mazda B-3000 (Ford Ranger) 4x4 ex-cab pickup. The safety package offered is second to none for the price and performed quite well in snow last week using a combination of the traction control and the abs. The Sonata 3.3 Liter V6 has a lot of power and torque throughout the RPM range and the shiftronic option allows you to control the power for maximum fun. My fuel economy for the last 2 weeks of ownership has been around 24 mpg with a mix of about 65% mountainous highway and 35% city driving. Seats are spacious and comfortable and the truck is huge. The radio sounds great for a factory system. (My GLS model does not have the optional 6 disc changer with sub woofer) The ride is very smooth over bumps, potholes, gravel roads, railroad crossings ect. The car does have a bit of body roll when pushed though curves aggressively, but still handles much tighter than the above mentioned truck in which it replaced. Over all for the sticker cost of $23,900 the value is exceptional when comparing the amenities, power, and comfort level of the competition.

Owning an Accord, I still love my Sonata better

Yes, we also own the top-of-the-line V6 Accord, which my wife drives, but I like my (4 cyl., mind you) Sonata better.... I bought it new a year ago, after noticing it in a hotel parking lot the summer before -- and falling in love with its looks.... This is one great car. It's well designed, well built, very roomy, drives smooth and comfortable, powerful enough even with its 2.4 engine, stable and quiet enough to be cruisning at 85 on the tollway. I am happy.

Feel Like A Genius

I thoroughly researched the Sonata LX, Accord, Camry, Altima, and Ford Fusion. When you add up all the features and then compare the prices, I don't see how you can justify getting another car. The only complaints: - I don't see how they got 26/30 mpg with the V6, unless they were driving down the Rockies (so far I'm getting around 25 mpg) - automated headlights turn on a little too late for my taste - c'mon, admit it, it does look quite a bit like the '04 Accord, especially at night On to the good stuff - the engine has plenty of muscle to get you on the interstate without sounding like it's going to explode, it shifts very smoothly, it's very roomy, the leather seats are comfortable, the stereo has some kick (and the 6 disc MP3 compatible CD player is a nice touch), the trunk is cavernous, the bi-level center console holds at least 10 CDs, the climate control system is great, and the gauges and displays are very easy to read at a glance. I know it isn't very nice, but on the inside I snicker a little when I drive past the other cars I considered. If you have Hyundai bias, get over it and check out this car!
