Drive like a sports car with 4 doors.

We have only had the Sonata for 3 months. There is a couple of complants...the accelerator is REAL touchy as is the steering, it is hard to start off easy with the accelerator set up. The steering if you move even slightly the car heads that way. Overall we are very satisfied, the gas milage is averaging 28 mpg, we had the standard 4 cyl.

Liked the dealership & how they presented the car

I buy cars because the old ones wear out after 8-10 years. I hate buying cars. Internet searches for Info are helpful in determining whether the dealers are blowing smoke. But you need to get your hands on a car and dealers are the only way of doing that. Biggest general objection is the "never discount" a deal, offer some dumb incentive or "cash back" deal and make people think it's great. When will they learn these techniques don't fool buyers? I liked the Hyundai dealer because they took time with me . . . took time to figure out who I was and what I was wanting BEFORE they tried to sell me anything. They also respected my prior knowledge of what was available and likely cost, so that saved a lot of dickering. The Sonata handled well, had good figures on MPG, and the warranty was outstanding. So far am greatly pleased with the car.

not bad

the gas mileage is not what i expected, i am getting a lot lower, i was expecting an avg city and highway of 28, i am getting 23 mpg. in the automatic setting, i feel it shifts to the higher gear to soon, when the automatic transmission changes gears i get the sound i used to get in my Manuel when i shifted to soon, the air condition gets real cold, but it takes a long time before it starts blowing cold air, my 1989 corolla blew out cold air almost immediately

2.0T limited Awesome

I have had my 2012 sonata 2.0T limited for just over 2 months. I love it!! My only complaint: I am not getting anywhere near the EPA fuel estimates. But I did get the turbo for a reason!!! I love the power the vehicle provides and it is very smooth. Great value for the money!

Test drive all models

I recently purchased this car at the dealer, not even a week old. I wanted the GLS model, the salesperson said the SE was a better deal since they did not have a GLS on the lot. I test drove the GLS demo which gave a nice comfortable ride. I did not test drive the SE based on what the dealer salesperson said. When I drove the car home, I wanted to turn around and give it back. It was a sporty bumpy noisy ride that I did not want. The dealer in another state offered more choices with better options. Michigan is not the place to buy this car as they do not have the best selection and prices unless you are buying Ford or GM. Buy in Virginia, the best selection, prices and dealers who know the product. I should have followed my first mind and gone where there were more choices and informed dealers. I guess it was all about commission. I plan to trade in a year with a different dealer. I could kick mysely because I had done my research, but let the dealer convince me otherwise. The style is great, the comfort is awful for me and no extras.

Love this car so much...

I own a 2007 Hyundai Sonata that I have placed 60,000 miles on in 3 years driving 3 hours a day to and from work. I love this car so much that I am thinking about trading it in and upgrading to a newer year. This car is very comfortable to drive and ride in. I have driven it from Virginia Beach to Kentucky and it was a smooth ride all the way. I completely trust when my lights come on that I need to check my tires, oil, ect. The only thing I am worried about is my check engine light is now on and my engine is ticking. In other words, it may be time for a trade in. LOL.

Gas mileage, price salesmans(2 dealerships) compared to many cars in same category preferred kia optima on styling dealer wanted sticker price+.hyundai able to get a higher optioned car for less. It's not a BMW.Very nice family car.Very impressed.at least it's assembled in U.S.A. A lot my malibu's componentswere made in Mexico hated having to buy foreign.

Impressive

I recently purchased my new 2012 sonata limited turbo. I love it!! For the money, you simply can't go wrong. Its very impressive in all aspects. I was looking at the SE but when I drove the limited (which has a luxery suspension in it), I needed the limited! It drives great and the Turbo deffinatly gives it great power. Does NOT feel like a 4 cylinder engine at all!!! The MPG is real good but it only works with ECO active on. I had a 2004 mits. endeavor. That was a hog on gas. You would never think "Hyundai" would make a car like this. Very impressive overall. The only thing negative about it is the stero system. Nothing to write home about. Very average. It doesnt handle loud music all that well and the bass is only ok. My endeavor was a limitedd and had the infinity gold system which is hard to beat. So maybe my expectations were too high. Overall, The sonata is very impressive and I highly recommend it!!

2012 Sonata 2.0T

I had been driving a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab 4x4 with the hemi engine. With my work commute of 160 miles per day round trip, I was pretty much forced to find something with better fuel economy. I was initially attracted to the Sonata by the looks of the car. We also own a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe and love it. Since owning this new Sonata, I could not have asked for a better car in every area! I absolutely love this car! It is a head turner everywhere I go, 18 inch chrome wheels, sparkling ruby red, and the turbo really has some incredible power! I thought I was going to miss my hemi in the Dodge, but this 4-cylinder turbo is amazing! Very fun to drive, quiet ride on the highway, very comfortable, roomy for my 6'1" large frame, hands free bluetooth for my cellphone is awesome, stereo is great, huge trunk space, attractive cockpit, dual climate control, bluelink, satellite radio, and highway economy of 35mpg, versus the 14mpg of the Dodge hemi I was driving. I would highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a great car for the money, not to mention the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty! As a previous employee of Honda of America, who manufactures the Accord and Civics, I would buy this Hyundai over the Accord ANYDAY! The Accord can't come close to the Sonata in any way!
