I would not recommend this car to anyone
The car's not safe it'll cut off in the middle of the highway while you are driving it it will get you killed it is not a safe car to drive. It's it's a beautiful car on the inside and out but driving it and going places you can get killed

Sonata nearly KILLED us! TWICE!! PLEASE HELP! Having a MAJOR issue with Hyundai right now with our 2015 Sonata. Apparently many others experienced this too! Beware please! As we were driving there was a Hybrid error flashing and we COMPLETELY lost power! Thankfully my husband pulled off to the side in time safely. This is the second time it's happened in 2 years. The first time we had 3 kids in the car!! Did Hyundai help us? Turns out we need a new engine and Hybrid system. We're under warranty. Our dealership @southpointhyundai sent Hyundai Consumer Affairs the paperwork and got back with us saying Hyundai approved to cover us at 80% so we'd owe $1800 and get the new engine and hybrid system. We were soo relieved - I can't tell you! My husband lost his job due to covid, and we've been having a rough time. Since we have some hardships, our agent was very nice and said she would go even further and ask them to cover it at 100%. Well after this happened and, the agent @southpointhyundai came back and said they won't cover it at all now and we need to return them loner car asap! We were devestated! We went from hearing that they would cover it 80% to hearing that we are totally screwed. We still owe $14,000 on the car and definitely can't afford to put the new engine and hybrid system in ourselves. So we may have to let it go as a voluntary repo. We've been asking around tons no one has ever heard of them changing their minds. We do love Hyundai and have been great customers so this really hurt that we'd be put through all this especially with all the hard ships of this pandemic going on! And legal help or advice from anyone knowledgeable or especially from Hyundai would be very much appreciated! Signed, Glad to be alive!
The most unreliable car I have ever owned
When I first purchased this car, it was everything I had expected. It worked great. Then at 55,000 miles, the car makes an annoying beeping sound and says Hybrid System Warning on the Dashboard and tells me to "Safely Stop and Do Not Drive" in the middle of the highway. To make this more dangerous, the car begins to sputter and forces me to pull over, in the middle of nowhere. This was the first of four separate occasions where I got this message/warning. Each time, I took the car to the Hyundai dealer to resolve the issue. Each time, they gave me a different reason that caused the message (Breaks, Hybrid Batter Cell issue, etc) the covered 2 of the times I received the message, I had to pay for the other two occasions. The last time, he dealer kept my car for over two months, because they couldn't figure out what was causing the error. They just kept replacing things until the error went away. Bottom line, either all Hyundai cars or they just can't make hybrids. I cannot drive a car like this. Whatever I saved on gas was burned on repairs or time lost without the car. I plan on dumping this car very soon.
Lemon car for me, no quality here, valued poorly
The car is beautiful for the price. I used to own a 2015 Sonata Hybrid Limited. This car drove so well. It was a leap of faith to buy it. Tons of leg room ! Beautiful interior, a car with everything I ever wanted. Then, boom! Hybrid System Warning at 75k. Dealers mechanic said the Trans went out. Ok. Replaced by warranty. Then 3 months later, same thing. Now it’s some brake switch that the repair was $400. Called Hyundai and they covered it. A year later it happens again, now it’s the transmission again in less than 20k miles? Hyundai paid for it again but only parts. We paid labor. The techs say it’s fixed. I can’t deal with a car like this so I got rid of it. The kicker was whatever I saved in fuel costs didn’t matter. The stress of it was just too much. No one should deal with this.
Best car ever!
This car was more than I expected. It rides so smooth and looks so luxurious. The interior is easy to keep clean. Love the gas millage
Great mileage and drive in luxury
Very reliable, comfortable and stylish. I love this car - especially the glass roof. I get 50 miles to the gallon city driving!!! It is zippy and responsive, does fine in snow.
I bought a 2015 sonata hybrid limited in black. I tinted the windows. I enjoy driving it. It is really fast if you already warm up the engine before you floor it. Love the look and paint. I have 75k on it. I drive it hard. Nothing has been replaced. Rear brake once seized in my garage - learned that you need to drive the car around first after washing it or that can happen. Don't like the delay in getting engine going at a stop. Should be a button to turn engine on so it is ready to haul it in fast traffic.

I have a love /hate thing with this car. Love the looks. The hate comes into play when I was going 70 mph and the hybrid alarm system and the READY light flashed. The car immediately slows down! This happened around 70k. We had the transmission replaced and it happens again. No one could figure it out. Dealer we got it from was useless. We ended up getting it fixed and it's been getting 40 mpg.
Love the Sonata Hybrid Car
I truly love 2015 Hyundai Sonate Hybrid. It drives so quietly and smooth. Truly appreciate the hybrid part because it saves me gas. It has been an awesome experience driving this car. It is very efficient.
Hybrid is jock for Hyundai
Bad customer service. I had bad noise from air conditioner side and the engine light was on for 3 days. When I went to Monterey Hyundai (Peninsula Hyundai) they reset and said that's it. I hope if it is some thing wrong it show up before my warranty finished. Anothe thing is that I just drive 33000 mile and I got notice from dealership yesterday that Hankook tire that they use on these car need to replaced while they should work 60000 mile not half of that. It's mean they use bad quality and cheap part in these cars. The car is very noisy when it goes to the gasoline engine. I'm not happy and I'm a little worry because when I bought this car they told me that Hyundai give us life time battery warranty and with these kind of issues I'm not sure. Anyway this Korean company with these worse dealerships is not trust able. I'm not recommend any Hyundai car specially the Hybrid ones .
