poor material choice of seat covers

Even rain from opening the doors will spot the seats.... when the spots dry they look like stains. In order to remove them you have to wet the entire seats and then have them dry... very poor choice of materials

Nice medium SUV

I bought this used from a family who were not putting the two year old Jeep to much use: only 8000 miles. I now have 19000 of my own. It is a 3.7 liter V6 so no superstar on acceleration, but adequate for my use as a commuter and occasionally picking up odds and ends and towing a boat trailer. The seats are comfy, the interior nice for a utilitarian vehicle. I have had no problems other than a key fob going bad. The original tires are not worn out and have worn evenly. There is not a lot of sound deadening around the wheels, so the road noise can be significant (compared to my sedan).

Trouble

I bought my jeep February 27th and March 30th the transmission died. It has been in the shop 9 days. Jeep has been in no hurry and I have to call them to get updates on it. Great looking ride but not reliable.

Brooklyn Jeep Guy

I just purchased a month ago a loaded pre-owned certified 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited with a 5.3 liter hemi engine from a dealership who purchased it from an auction. The bad - the seat belts are very tight (if you are a big person, you may need seat belt extenders) and there is no leg room in the back seat if you push your seat back. The good - I love the hemi (although I am getting around 17 mpg). The car handles very nicely. The car feels bigger than it is. Plenty of room in the front. All the gadgets are great (seat heaters, sun roof, in dash gps/satellite radio, etc...). I am still getting used to the car, but if I lived out of the city, I probably would like it even more. At this point I cant attest for the reliability, but as of now, yes, I would purchase this auto again.

Tranny Problems

I bought my 2005 v6 in sept of 2008 i'm the second owner and have had nothign but problems, i took it in because of a clunking noise and told the dealer it felt like the tranny was slipping he told me it was normal and to get used to it. its now march of 2009 only has 60k on it and my tranny is gone. the dealer would not listen to me, and i dont think the powertran warranty was transfered so now i have to replace the trannyon my own. I'll never buy a jeep again.

Really Grand Cherokee

I bought this in '07 with just under 40,000 miles on it. In the first week I hit a deer. There was a lot of damage, all the sheetmetal from the front bumper to the windshield had to be rebuilt, along with the radiator, trnsmission cooler, and air conditioner core. We were going 60 when we hit the deer, no one in the car got even a tiny scratch. We had it fixed right away, and have been enjoying it ever since. It is the "basic" Grand Cherokee (with the V6 and all wheel drive), but has all the features I need. It can pull my boats and get through the camp road during mud season. It is really good in the snow too. Around town I consistently get 18 - 20 mpg. On a trip from Maine to Virginia I got 24 mpg. It is very comfortable to drive, even long distances.

Best Jeep I've Ever Owned!

I bought this truck in the winter of 2005 to replace a reliable but tiring 2002 Grand Cherokee that served as daily driver duty. My G.C. is Brilliant Black with all the options available for '05. It makes a lot of noise while you're driving it, and the seats are firmer than any other car I've ridden in or driven. I would recommend this great Jeep to anyone looking for great style and great off-road capability.

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

I bought this car used with 32,000 miles on the clock. Laredo trim with 4.7L V8. Fog lights, heated leather, sunroof, dvd player, navigation, this jeep had it all. I was very pleased with the handling and overall ride of the Jeep. The gas mileage stunk, but if you buy a Jeep, you know what you're getting into, so I don't complain. Plus, my wifes car get 40 mpg, so i didnt care. The back seat would not fit a 6'3" guy behind me (also 6'3") as the driver. Lots of cargo space made it a wonderful traveler and grocery getter. It handled great in the snow, which we get quite a bit of in MN. It was a safe vehicle, great to bring out the manly side of anyone. Jeeps are Jeeps and if anyone expects good MPG and a sophisticated, well rounded vehicle, then you don't know what Jeep is all about.

Great Car

This Jeep is tight. You can feel and hear how well put together it is. Over rough road it just sucks up the bumps with a noise that gives you a sense that it's got all wheels on the ground, is in control and you are good to go. The interior styling is really nice. My grips are: large blind spots which, until you get used to it, make it hard to park and see obsticles. The low slung front windsheild really drives me crazy because for me (6'1") it makes it difficult to look up and see the scenery. Recomend a Sun roof. Also the "oh no" handles on the A piler are a rediculus design. Not ergonomic or useful. Unfortunate since thats kind of a jeep trademark. And no over head handles to hold onto for the front seats. Pros: Handles the same at 110mph (at which I found out there is a govener) as it does at 60. Smoooth. Great in the snow with traction control, and ABS. It does well in every driving environment. Everyone who gets in it is impressed. Never had to take it into shop except for routine maintenence. And BTW any new car now adays is going to cost you $600 every 6-10 months for maintenence, just so you know.
