The car has a lot of room as a hatchback.

This was my daily commute car and was very reliable. It's very stylish and low cost to maintain. The rear seats fold down so there's extra cargo space. I am the second owner and purchased this vehicle at 4000 miles.

Excellent car for buck & mpg

Bought for wife 5 yrs ago handled good no real issues other than no spare tire that stunk cause if you get a flat who have to call road side assistance. Had afew quirks with factory stereo and anti knock sensor other than that great car . Average mpg was 30 city & 36 hwy for us regular oil changes . one of my main reasons for writing my review isn't just because of realiabilty but an unfortunate event that should be a serious reason to purchase this vehicle. We wrecked are carat 75 mph and I can honestly say we came out without injury's minus seatbelt burns . very well built car. I would by another but unfortunately won't be the case because our insurance is just going to pay off balance nothing left for down . very safe and amsure it exceeds many of others out there.

Nice Features, best car I had.

Small on the outside but has lots of room on the inside. Lots of trunk space, Nice light up feature. I like even the features on the steering wheel, volume control, so you don't have to take you eyes off the road. A great family car with lots of leg room. The only thing is my model doesn't have a remote. I have to manually unlock the doors and it doesn't come with a spare tire you will have to purchase one. I would have loved if it had came with a rear view parking camera, some Kia Rio's do have them but not mine which is a Kia Rio LX model. Overall it is a good reliable car.

Convenient for work commuting

Good for what we purchased it for... commuting to work. Gas mileage decent but small tank. Comfortable, easy to drive.

German Design, Asian Reliability

Best pound-for-pound small car you'll find. Kia poached lead designer Peter Schreyer from Volkswagen/Audi (designed the Audi TT) and this was an early effort for the Korean company. The car boasts a solid engine with timing chain, comfortable commute, strong mileage, bluetooth, backup camera, wireless calling, and with the seats down in back you can haul most of what you need around a city. Best features for the money in this price range. Stock tires will go sooner than they should but add Nokian All Weather WRG3s or Michelins and this car dominates the weather in Boston punching way above it's weight. Four years of daily driving around Boston and this car served above and beyond expectations with no issues. Good power to weight ratios make it fun to drive, easy move around the highway, zip down small city streets, and park in tight spaces. The Schreyer Rio does everything you need a city car to do and does all of it well - don't miss out on this diamond in the rough that is part of a Korean automobile revolution blending German design with Asian reliability.

bought it new

never a problem except in first few months did not always start for about a week. Fixed in a hour at no charge under warranty. Cheap to run so I go when I like and where. Sport shift in mountains and definitely down hill gives better control. corners in rain and at speeds I have not done in any other car i owned. Clearance can be a issue on road works and drive ways but rarely. Use sports shift to merge onto freeway in heavy traffic and no problem. Had cruise control fitted later and they replaced the steering wheel for integrated controls. Tried everything in this price bracket I could get my hands on then I bought this.

First car I owned

This car is perfect for someone's first car or even someone trying to save money, like a college student. It's good on gas, drives really nice and reliable. It's a little on the smaller side but I am glad I chose it for my first car.

Great car

Great gas mileage plus it has a lot of features I really appreciate such as the rear view camera and blue tooth technology for my iPod and my cellphone. It has pretty good power for a 4-cylinder engine as well.
